Bubble Twiggy Tree

Hi All,

Having to start work a couple of hours early (4am!!!) sure does mess with you. I spent the morning trying not to yawn, or fall asleep standing up lol.

I managed not to have a granny nap when I got home, or a coffee bath. I have been know to dose off with a cup of coffee in my hand which ends up in my lap when I startle myself awake. Not a good move. I was so tired though that I managed to knock a glass of squash over on my desk. Thankfully no samples were there at the time, but it did take me ages to clean up.....more hours wasted that I can ill afford.

Here are a couple of cards made using Jane's Bubble Twiggy Tree.

As you can see it works just as well for a birthday card.

Of course you don't have to use the whole image,

even part of it on a scrap of background paper is enough.

Better get to bed now, before I fall asleep without pressing publish on this.

Bubble Bauble and Branch

Evening All,

Sorting out my room has finally given me the spur that I needed to get crafty, it's just unfortunate that my time is very limited at the moment due to some unexpected babysitting duties.

I'm frantically trying to find time to work on Jane's next stamp release next month. So here in the meantime are a few more cards made using one of Jane's fabulous Festive Bubble stamps.

I do love this Christmas Bauble.

I stamped and embossed it on to a piece of mop up background and then added die cut gold 'candi', glitter glue and glossy accents.

I painted the bow with bleach and added some white ink splatters.

Same stamp, different colour combo.

I was a little bit over zealous with the glossy accents in the middle of this one, so I may well have to add a sentiment to cover it up.

A few more splatters and a silver matt and layer to finish it off.

Making Spirits Bright.

Hi All,

Finally got to see Mum this afternoon, thanks to the kindness of a good friend. I've stayed away for the last couple of weeks since one of our cafe girls went off to self isolate due to Covid. It turned out to be her daughter that had it, so I wasn't in close contact, but I didn't want to take a chance with Mum. Unfortunately it also meant missing out on meeting my newest little Great Niece...........Zoom just isn't the same when it comes to a cuddle with a new baby!!

So how about a couple of cute Christmas cards made using Jane's mini Festive Fuzzies.

I stamped, embossed and coloured the image and then layered it over a piece of embossed card stock.

I layered this cute little snowman over a die cut black and white background.

It is a fabulous die for easy peasy paper piecing.

I added some glossy accents to highlight the image, and a chopped up sentiment.

Real Love Stories

Evening All,

I managed to unearth my laptop, hidden under a huge pile of Craft Stamper magazines.

Things are pretty much sorted now, so I really must crack on with crafty projects before I get behind again. Thing is I have had to make the most of the family being away for a couple of days, so that I can spread my stuff out without worrying about it being put away before they all get home from school and work. It really does make life so much easier, and sorting out so much quicker lol.

Here are a couple of cards made a few weeks ago during our class on Distress Oxide inks.

I love the fabulous mop up backgrounds that you can create with these amazing ink pads.

I stamped and embossed the image on to the dry background and then used bleach to paint the flowers. The sentiment has been stamped and embossed in white onto a strip of black card stock.

I don't like wasting inks, so here is another card made using the leftovers.

This time I added some die cut foliage,

and a stacked sentiment.

I've buried my computer

Hi All,

No cards tonight I'm afraid since I'm having to do this on my phone. It appears that during my day of reorganisation I have buried my laptop!!!

I know its here somewhere, but as I've got to be at work early tomorrow, I really can't spare the time to find it. I'm shattered. 

I will try and do better tomorrow.

Black and Blue Anniversary

Evening All,

Just home after a rather hectic weekend with the Littlest Grandchildren, I will definitely need my lie in tomorrow. Mind you it will seem strange not to be woken by Chloe tapping me on the shoulder and telling me that it is time to get up.

Here is another card using a silhouette style stamp, this time in monochrome colours.

I stamped and embossed the initial image, and then stamped the image again several times without reinking, to give a fabulous faded background panel.

I stamped the grungy background stamp onto the blue card and then added some pearls and a stamped sentiment for finishing touches.

Off to bed now.

Who Needs the Gym?

Evening All,

Who needs the gym, when you spend all day moving furniture and stuff. We have lugged furniture and boxes in and out of rooms as my daughter decided to have a change round. I have to say that it is very satisfying, although I think that we are both shattered. Let's hope that the new bed I bought for Jack, which prompted all this activity, works its magic, and he sleeps in it all night!!

So no cards tonight as I am ready to fall asleep sitting up lol.

Will try harder tomorrow...........with a card to post that is.

Congratulations, You Rock

Evening All,

I may not have been much cop at the gym this week, but I did manage to get in with a card for one of the instructors who has just passed her driving test.

Once again I reached for a LOTV Simply Print which I printed out two to a page.

I die cut one image using a circular die, 

and then added the second one over the top using silicon, having first fussy cut it out.

The windscreen and lights were the perfect places to add some Glossy Accents.

The tiny sentiments are from an Altenew set, and I found the background paper in my stash.

My gym buddy is back next week, well unless more things crop up in her hectic schedule. She is that retiree who wonders how she managed to fit in work. She is so busy now she has retired it's untrue lol.

Silhouette Style Grasses

Evening All,

My lovely friend Gill has set us the challenge on Facebook of using silhouette stamps.

I had a look through my card stash and found this card made a while ago using a handmade background, and a silhouette style stamp.

The backgrounds were made using a session with my Gelli plate, inks and stamps.

I love playing with my Gelli plate, you end up with a pile of amazing backgrounds, no two alike.

It's hard to stop cause there might be just enough ink for one more pull.

I think this fabulous silhouette style stamp is from Chocolate Baroque, but I wouldn't be able to swear to it. I do love floral images like these.

Celebrate with Altenew

Evening All,

Just a quick post tonight, the time has got away from me. I've been working on samples for Jane's next stamp release in September, and I keep getting drawn back in to 'finish just one more piece' lol.

This card was made a few weeks ago, when we were playing with Oxide inks in class. It also uses a fabulous Altenew stamp. It's a lovely solid image, but rather hard to photograph since I used embossing powder on it.

I added a narrow stacked frame and a die cut sentiment layered over a vellum shadow.

Mini Santas

Hi All,

I must be getting clumsy in my old age, I fell over again just as I turned on to the forecourt at work. Nothing too bad this time, apart from a scraped knee. My trousers must be made of teflon since once again they survived intact, even if my knee and hip didn't. I will be able to compare cuts and bruises with Emma and Chloe at the weekend, they always seem to have scraped knees lol.

Of course my pride took a battering, but fortunately no one saw me, so I could pick myself up and continue in to work as if nothing happened, well apart from a bit of a limp anyway.

Here are a couple more cards made using Jane's Festive Fuzzies, this time JGM021 Mini Santa.

I stamped, embossed and coloured the images before die cutting them.

I used the technique of leaving part of the image outside of the die when cutting. I haven't done that in a while. I usually end up stamping the image again and adding the fussy cut image over the die cut shape. This is much less time consuming.

The background to this card was created using the left over ink from colouring all the images.

I stamped the sentiment across the background and then added Santa over a black circular die cut.

I couldn't resist adding some fluffy stuff to Santa's outfit.

Festive Fuzzies Snowman

Evening All,

I hope that you have had a marvelous Monday. Did you manage to catch Jane on the box with her latest collection of Festive Fuzzies?

This little cutie is JGS783 Festive Fuzzies Snowman.

I stamped and embossed him on to some coconut white card stock and then coloured him in using a pearlescent watercolour palette.

I created a card base using black card and a white die cut frame. The panel in the center behind the snowman has been embossed with a bubble burst embossing folder.

I fussy cut the snowman and added him using silicon for extra dimension. I also added some tiny buttons to the snowman, and gems to the snowflakes.

I'm Back with Edger Dies

Hi All,

Sorry I've been AWOL for the last couple of days, but with the Internet acting up, a few lines and no pictures was the best that I could manage on my phone.

We had a fabulous day on Saturday, playing with all sorts of edger dies.

This card was inspired by some of the samples that Jamie Rodgers showed on the TV a while ago, which I rewatched as part of my class prep.

I had promised myself that I wouldn't play with any of my dies when I got home, since I had so much that needed to be done this weekend. As usual I failed miserably in my resolve lol.

I just couldn't resist making this card. I took my Airless Misters for the Girls to play with along with the dies, and they are what I used to create the background for this card. I also used one of the pearlescent colours on the cream frame.

I used this die with an embossing mat, and then coloured the reverse of the image with some distress inks.

I trimmed around the edge of the die by hand since I had chosen to emboss rather than die cut.

I also added a little gold gilding wax, some gems and a stamped and gold embossed sentiment.

It's always nice to find an alternative use for your dies, to stretch the use of your supplies.

I finished my tag in class, using the same die, this time in the way that it was intended. I layered it over a piece of background paper from my stash, trimming around the edge with a pair of scissors, and then added a die cut and stamped sentiment.

I'm pleased to say that I managed to get a couple of other things finished, although possibly not as much as I would have liked. Still tomorrow is another day, as the saying goes lol.

BTW don't forget to set your recorders for Jane's shows on Create and Craft tomorrow at 10.30am and 5.15pm. She will be showcasing her new Festive Fuzzy stamps which I'm sure you will love.
