Happy Halloween

Evening,

Another long but fun filled day.

We have been hanging bats and painting faces on milk bottle ghosts, but all that will have to wait till tomorrow.

I'm shattered.

Night, night.

The Best Laid Plans.

 Evening All

I have been very glad to see the back of this week given everything that has gone on at work. At least I am ending it on a high note with a long weekend with the littlest Grandchildren. But where do the hours in a day disappear to?

They came and collected me after work with plans to visit my Mum, or 'PatPat' as she is affectionately known, before heading home to finish off 50 ghosts and several strings of bats for Halloween.

Unfortunately the motorway had other ideas, and by the time we got back home and had fed and watered everyone there is very little time or energy to do anything but sleep, so I will call it a night and try again tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by anyway.

Paper Panda Fall

 Evening

I hope you caught Suz fabulous shows on Create and Craft today using the amazing new stamps from Paper Panda at Creative Expressions.

I love these stamps, they have such beautiful detail, and are very unusual.
I think this leaf has to be my favourite.
I used it here with sticky embossing powder and gilding flakes.
The background is created with inks and an embossing folder, and then I added a sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You So Much Sylvie

 Sorry All

I have spent the entire day at work dealing with the repercussions from yet another power failure.

We had another 12 hours without power, which has caused us major problems as you can imagine, and not even hot water for a coffee. Thank goodness for a lovely crafty friend living next door with a gas hob and plenty of thermos flasks.

So this one is for you Sylvie, with grateful thanks from all on shift this morning.

Sending Love and Hugs

Evening,

Memories of childhood this evening. We have just had a power cut which has meant that the Grandkids have had to play a board game by candle light, instead of being stuck to their phones. That will teach them to keep them charged up lol.

One of my favourite stamp companies is Altenew.

I love the layering stamps which make colouring in a breeze.

And the fact that lots of the sets have co-ordinating dies.

We had a class using them some time last year, and these are a couple of the cards that I made to inspire the Girls.

Of course I got my inspiration from Pinterest, an amazing place, but make sure that you have a few hours to spare since it is very addictive.

Here is a second card that I made, this time as a Thank You card.

Once again I used a stencil and some soft ink in the background.

I stamped some small flower sprays and leaves directly on to the card

before adding my stamped and die cut flowers, a die cut sentiment and some gems.

Thanks for stopping by. I had better post this before the power goes out again and the Internet won't let me lol.

Final Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers

 Hi All,

We have a new challenge today over at CraftyCardmakers, which I'm sad to say will be our last.

I joined the Team on 3rd October 2011 for Challenge 53, and have enjoyed every moment of my time with an incredible group of crafty people. I will certainly miss the challenge of creating something specific to share with you although I'm sure that I will see you all around Blogland at some point.

Anyway, on to our last challenge No 267 Things That Go Bump in the Night, which I am honoured to host.
I have an old friend whose birthday is on Halloween so this challenge is always the perfect opportunity to make a card especially for her.
The purple background paper is printed from a Winnie Wednesday Full Collection Halloween Bundle from Polkadoodles.
The cute Pumpkin Witch is from Lili of the Valley.
I added some witches cats
and an extra large spiders web
along with a die cut sentiment from Creative Expressions.
I hope that you join us for our last ever challenge and that you will pop over and share the love with the rest of the DT HERE.
Stay safe.

A Paper Anniversary

 Evening

I hope that you have had a great weekend. I feel like my crafty mojo has finally returned, hopefully for longer than a couple of days.

A friend asked me to make a 1st Anniversary card for her daughter.
As the 1st Wedding Anniversary is 'Paper'
I picked some paper with book print on it
for the background
and also the handmade flowers.
I used a Paper Rose die for the square floral panel
and Tonic alphabet dies for their names.
I coloured the tiny heart buttons with my alcohol markers,
and added some stamen, Sizzix foliage and glitter card.
I really enjoyed making it which is the first time in a while that I can say that.
Thanks for stopping by.

Jane Gill on TV

 Evening,

Just a quick reminder that the fabulous Jane Gill will be on Create and Craft tomorrow at 3.45pm and 6.45pm.

I managed to send a few cards to her for the shows, so here is a reminder of a couple of mine to look out for.

I've blogged them all before, so I will just share the pictures again.
Don't forget the clocks go back tonight, not that I think we need any extra hours in 2020.
I think most of us would be more than happy to see the back of this year.
Stay safe and big hugs

Happy Birthday my Little Diva

 Evening,

It's the weekend at last, and hopefully I will manage to get back into some sort of crafty mode. I am so far behind with everything, including a birthday card for a very special young lady who is 3 today.

This LOTV cutie reminds me of her, when she's in the right mood of course.
I added her name to the card,
making sure to leave 'Diva' in full view. She can definitely be one when the fancy takes her lol.
Of course it will be late arriving. See I'm even rubbish at sending cards to family as well.
Have a great weekend.

Thinking of You

 Evening,

Unfortunately I have need of yet another 'Thinking of You' card as one of the boys at work lost his Mum last night.

She is in India so I'm not sure whether he will be able to get back for services.
How awful it must be to have family so far away. I find it hard enough that my youngest daughter and the littlest Grandchildren are in Kent and that's just down the road compared to the other side of the world.
I made this card using one of the fabulous Designer Boutique stamps from Creative Expressions.
I'm always a sucker for an Agapanthus stamp, I have several of them.
I stamped and embossed the image on to a piece of handmade inky background.
The background to the main card is made from a piece of rice paper that I keep on my desk for mopping up any left over inks. Once it is dry I add it to a sticker sheet so that I can use it on a card.
I also added some stamping and a little gilding wax which highlights all the wrinkles in the paper.
I need to get to bed now since I have to be at work at stupid o'clock tomorrow to cover for my grieving colleague.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Spotlit 'Twofer'

 Evening,

I do love a good spotlight.

It is a great way to cover up a mistake if necessary,
and it is also a great opportunity for a 'Twofer'.
One of the fabulous new products that I got to play with last year was the Alcohol Lift inkpad.
I LOVE IT.
We had several classes involving it since it bore repeating. The background to this card was made using alcohol inks, yupo paper and a little foil.
I also used the alcohol lift ink pad to 'lift' the holly and mistletoe image and then re stamp it on to a piece of white cardstock.
I die cut the circles from the panel and layered it on to another stamped image,
hence the 'Twofer'.
I think my friend Gill will appreciate these as this is her Wednesday suggestion over Facebook at Christmas Cards and Papercraft Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.
