Time to Paint Those Eggs

Evening,
Along with the beautiful 3D Embossing Folder that Creative Expressions recently released, there are some Easter stamps designed by the lovely Francoise Reid.
Normally I wouldn't blog them until Easter weekend, but as the supermarket shelves are groaning under the weight of Easter Eggs at the moment, I decided that I would share this card tonight.
I created the backgrounds using Creative Expressions Pixie Powders.
I love these powders because you never know exactly what you are going to end up with, every background is different even when using the same colours.
I stamped and embossed in white for all of the stamped images and then flooded the paper with water before adding the powders, and then more water.
I also added a little Gilding polish through a stencil in the background and then coloured some of the images with Pearlescent paint. All of the products used are from Creative Expressions.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bleached Flowers

Evening,
A couple of quick floral cards tonight using bleach and pearlescent paints.
I stamped and gold embossed the floral image across the brown base card.
I then painted the images with thin undiluted bleach. Not all card stock will bleach out the colour so you need to experiment a little before creating your card.
The main floral image has been coloured using pearlescent paints and then added to the main panel along with a sentiment.
The second card uses the same floral image only this time the background panel has been stamped with bleach.
I do love this technique, it is the nearest I like to get to cleaning lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Birthday Rose

Evening,

It has been perfect crafting weather today, not that I ever need an excuse to spend the day in the Craft Room lol.

I've been working on some samples for Creative Expressions, which are hush hush for now, so here is a card that I made a while ago using one of Jane Gill's fabulous Halloween stamp sets.
I stamped and embossed the rose onto black cardstock
and then coloured the rose and the spider with Iridescent Watercolour Paint.
I layered the fussy cut image over a piece of background from my stash.
The background was created using a stencil and paste along with some mica sprays.
I also found the die cut sentiment in my bits box, and added it along with a few gems.

Warm Winter Wishes from Creative Expressions

Afternoon,

Although to look outside it seems like the late evening already. I've been very organized, at the moment at least. I have started writing my Christmas newsletter.

I started sending one over 20 years ago, to let people know about the deaths of my son Adam, and my Dad. It was actually very therapeutic, and so I have tried to keep up with it over the years. So, as I have started writing it today, I thought that perhaps it was a good time to share a few cards that I made much earlier this year for the lovely people at Creative Expressions.

I stamped and embossed this design onto kraft card and then painted it with Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent Paint.
Stamped, embossed and painted on kraft card again, and then fussy cut and added to a handmade background from my stash.
I did a bit of Paper Piecing here along with some painting.
I just used part of the image here. I stamped and gold embossed the Mitten used in the first card and then die cut part of the image. Once again, I painted the images with the Pearlescent Paints.
Better get back to my newsletter writing. I want to try and get my Christmas cards in the post early this year so that people can see that I have moved. That is the aim anyway, although the best laid plans and all that!!

From Me to You (Picture Heavy Post)

Evening,

While my Mum has been recovering from her recent fall, we have been lucky enough to have been helped by a group of fantastic ladies organised by the hospital on her discharge.

Going forward they are about to be replaced by a different agency, so Mum and I wanted to say Thank You to them for all of their help and kindness. To this end I have made a box of cards for the two main ladies that have come to help over the last few weeks. They are always happy in their work, and put Mum at her ease, for which I am very grateful.

I made several boxes, each containing assorted cards and envelopes.
I stamped and embossed a couple of my favourite Imagination stamps onto pieces of handmade backgrounds from my stash.
I trimmed these panels and added them to the center of a square of embossed cardstock that coordinated with the stamped and embossed panels.

Some of the images were painted with pearlescent paint and some with water to remove some of the colour from the flowers.
I made a box from Kraft card to house the cards, each with an embossed panel on the top.
Sorry for the large number of pictures but they are all different.
I didn't add any sentiments to them in the hope that the ladies would be able to make best use of them.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sadie the Sheep

Evening,

As promised I'm back with one of my samples for Jane's latest Fuzzy Friends release.

I created a background on a small square card by randomly stamping and embossing the small floral images from the set. I then painted with a wash of colour before dropping a little more colour on to the flowers using the Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent Paints.
I stamped and embossed Sadie onto white card stock, coloured her and then used a circular die to cut, matt and layer her using grey and black card before adding her to the main card.
The fun sentiment is also part of the set and was edged with a black sharpie before adding it to the card.

I will share a few more of the cards that I made for this release over the next few days prior to Jane's TV appearances on Sunday 13th February on Create and Craft.

Thanks for stopping by.

Boxes of Cards

Evening,

I've made use of a couple of the boxes of cards that I made recently, I have sent them out as birthday prezzies.

I created a box for them
using kraft card and a favourite Altenew 3D embossing folder.
I popped 6 cards and envelopes into each box.
The cards were made using pieces of background from my stash, and a couple of fabulous Imagination stamps.
I stamped and embossed the images on to the backgrounds and then painted the images with a combination of water, bleach and pearlescent watercolour paints depending on what the background image was created from.

I found plain cardstock to match each finished panel and embossed it using the Altenew 3D folder.
These stamps are so quick and easy to use, and I have lots of different ones so I can see me making lots more boxes of cards. It is a fun and easy way to use up some of that stash of hand made backgrounds that I seem to have accumulated.
Thank you for stopping by, and not being put off by the huge number of cards that I have shared tonight.
