Floral Fussy Cutting

Evening,

I do love inky backgrounds, so here is a card created using some inks and stamps.

I layered the central panel over some white stamped and embossed images which I then highlighted with a little light inking using blending brushes.

The main floral images have been stamped, embossed, coloured and fussy cut 

before adding them to the main card using silicon glue.

Happy Birthday Jenni

Evening,

Today is a special day in our house, it's my eldest daughters birthday. Unfortunately she was working a split shift today, so not much celebrating, but it means that she can behave like the Queen used to and have a second birthday later in the year.

As you know by now, I am notoriously late with my cards, but since I retired I have definitely improved, so I am hoping that for once a card actually arrived on time.

I created the background to her card using inks and a fabulous stencil from Aall and Create.

Having added a little extra stamping to the background,

I then added a stamped, embossed, coloured and die cut image using a little silicon glue gell. I think the floral image is from Altenew but I really can't remember and it is far too late to go looking for the stamp.

A stamped and die cut sentiment and some gems complete my card for a special lady.

I hope that she managed to have a great day despite work and that the kids spoiled her rotten.

Congratulations, You Rock

Evening All,

I may not have been much cop at the gym this week, but I did manage to get in with a card for one of the instructors who has just passed her driving test.

Once again I reached for a LOTV Simply Print which I printed out two to a page.

I die cut one image using a circular die, 

and then added the second one over the top using silicon, having first fussy cut it out.

The windscreen and lights were the perfect places to add some Glossy Accents.

The tiny sentiments are from an Altenew set, and I found the background paper in my stash.

My gym buddy is back next week, well unless more things crop up in her hectic schedule. She is that retiree who wonders how she managed to fit in work. She is so busy now she has retired it's untrue lol.

Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge - Day 28 3D (Edited)

Evening everyone,
Another late one, and I really should be in bed as I start work at five tomorrow morning!!!
It's 3D today over at Creative Expressions 30 Day challenge and I'm afraid that I am going to have to post my cards for it tomorrow as the ruddy internet is not playing the game.
I have managed to write this on my phone, but I cant import any pictures so I will have to update this tomorrow.
The wonders of modern technology and all that.

Goodmorning, I've done my 4 hour shift at work, and my walk around the park, and I have finally managed to get the Internet to behave, even if only briefly, so here are the cards that I tried to post yesterday.

I'm afraid that my 3D is limited to a couple of fussy cut flowers,

 and some Pinflair Glue Gel.

Both cards were created from a Masterboard of stamped and white embossed images, coloured with the Summer Garden Watercolour Palette.

It is a fabulously sparkly paint palette.

Up and Away with the Hobby Art Blog

Evening Everyone,
I posted for the first time on the Hobby Art blog today, and boy was it a feat. 
As I was going to be out with friends today I thought that I would be smart and get my post ready a day early. 
Wow, not as easy as I thought, I couldn't even find where to start. I ended up having to get advice from the Design Team on Facebook at the same time as trying to write the post. Multitasking, how cool am I !!!
I decided to share the card that I made using the Hot Air Balloon from the new Hobby Art Vintage set.The balloon has been stamped and embossed onto watercolour card stock and then painted using Distress inks and the ‘Wet Watercolour Technique’.I fussy cut it out and added it to the background panel using silicon, one of my favourite accessories, I get through loads of the stuff.
The background to the card has been made using glossy card stock, Versamark ink and Distress inks to create a resist image.
This really is like magic painting for grown ups and is a fabulously easy way to create a background.
It is also a great way of using lots of stamps all at once without the card looking overloaded with images.I have used a strip of acetate to add my sentiment to the card as glossy card stock can be a little difficult to stamp on to.
Yes I know acetate is slippery too, but it is also cheap and any art work will show through, so if all else fails and the stamping goes wrong you can always throw it away and try again without having to remake your entire piece of artwork.
It is also a great way to hide a mistake if your stamping is not up to par.The acetate on this very card actually hides the fact that my stamped sentiment went a little wrong, but you would never know unless I told you!!
I managed to teach the Guys at Hobby Art a thing or two with my forward blog planning. 
More by luck than by judgement I found out how to do a scheduled post on the blog, something that they hadn't worked out yet. (They don't use Blogger which is what I'm used to)
It was a nice feeling to think that I had helped out even when I am rubbish with a computer.
I've offered to do another post for them later in the month, but hopefully that will be a little easier to work out now I at least have a vague idea of what I am doing.

Woodware Sketch challenge

Morning Everyone,
It's my turn with the Woodware sketch today, and I have to say that I got a little bit carried away and made two cards, one for a lady and one for a man.

The backgrounds to both have been made using my Creative Palette which I have been having great fun playing with.

This one uses inks, bubble wrap and Stampendous NKCRS02 Wired.

I stamped and embossed Jane's lovely grasses onto an oval panel from a second piece of handmade background paper.

The background paper for the 'Girly' card has been made in the same way using the Creative Palette, inks and bubblewrap, just using slightly different colours.

The flowers were stamped and embossed using another of Jane's stamp sets onto more of the background paper.
I cut them out and attached them using silicon to give them a little more dimension.

The greeting is from a Stampendous set which found it's way into my basket recently.
Sorry Dorothy, I haven't done very well with the links or the names of the items I have used. I will have to try and amend that when we are reconnected :O)
Let's hope that Blogger is kind and this publishes on time.
I can't even check it to find out. So unless I get a text message from Dorothy tomorrow telling me what a naughty girl I am I will assume that you are all reading this with your cornflakes.
I will be packing my box for my class at Davina's. Lots of playing with embossing folders and inks.
I'm glad I decided to leave the wax paper and ironing until the autumn otherwise we would be boiling tomorrow given that we are in for some really hot weather.
Let's hope the ladies all remember how warm it gets in the conservatory, we don't want anyone passing out.

A Clarity Challenge Two-Fer

Evening All
What a lovely day we have had here, chilly but bright. I even managed to go out without my winter coat which was a bonus.
I mentioned that I was going to try and check out a couple of challenges. Well I have managed to make a card for the latest challenge at Clarity where the theme is Flower Power, use flower stamps and a nice verse.

 I love this Poppy stamp, it has to be one of my favourite Clarity floral stamps

I created a border around the edge of the panel using the smaller solid  poppies that goes with the larger stamp.

Of course it just screamed paper piecing and so I picked some papers from my stash.
The beauty of stamping the image on different pieces of background paper is that with careful cutting out you can end up with enough bits for more than one card, a Two-Fer, two cards for the price of one.

So this is the second card that I made with the left overs.

The leafy background is created using a large embossing folder and Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

I gave the paper pieces a little dimension and attached them using silicon glue.
I confess that the sentiment on this second card isn't by Clarity, but as I have managed to use up a few more pieces from my 'Bits Box' I hope that I will be forgiven.

Paper Piecing at Crafty Cardmakers.

Oops, I've done it again. I managed to make it right through to the 9th November this time, sharing a post with you every day, before I failed due to my very late journey back from the NEC.
I had to go back to Peterboro after the show, to pick up all the rest of my crafty stash and await the arrival of my lovely daughter, before continuing on to Surrey.
I suppose that will teach me that I really must get myself sorted with scheduled posts!!
Any how, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers, where Viv has chosen the theme of Paper Piecing.
I got a little carried away and made a set of four cards during my Metal and Burlap class, when I was at Janice and Andy's .

I showed the class how to make a quick and easy background using a 6x6 paper pad, and then used a lovely Whippersnapper stamp, Bazzil card stock and bleach as the basis for the Paper pieced panels.

I stamped the image onto three different but co-ordinating papers and also some metal foil as well as a piece of dark orange bazzil card.

I painted some of the images on each card using bleach which has taken out most of the colour.

I also cut out the flowers and heart and the pieced the images back together after first shaping them using a ball tool.

That were added using silicon to give added dimension.

What a shame I missed it

Hi All
Isn't it typical, I finally manage to find a few moments to catch up on a few things (reading some blog posts for one) and I find that I have missed the lovely Sue from Imagination on the TV. I had it in my head that it was the 15th for some reason, I don't know why.
So I guess to make up for it here is a card that I made for her a little while ago.

 I used the Holly image from the Donkey Decoupage Stamp Set to create this wreath.

I added some red pearls and layered the holly onto a scalloped circle using silicon. The gold embossing in the background uses another of the elements from the stamp set.
I really must pay more attention so I don't miss her again.
Sorry Sue, lets hope you have it on tape for me to watch next time I see you :O)

A Decoupage Daisy from Imagination

Eveing Everyone,
Are you havinng a good weekend? The weather here has been lovely and warm, not that I have ventured outside, I have been chained to my craft room once again.
Why is it that my 'Crafty To Do List' never seems to get any shorter? As fast as I cross one thing off the top of the list three more things appear at the bottom lol.
Oh well, I suppose it keeps me out of mischief and off the streets.
Today I have been working on some DT work for the lovely Sue at Imagination Craft, so it seems only right that my card tonight is one that I made a while ago using another of her fabulous Decoupgae stamps.

This card was made using Versamark, White Embossing Powder and Distress Inks.
The small daisy and the sentiment on the background panel are part of the stamp set.

The square panel is the main stamp in the set. I have padded it slightly with silicon and also added a little Pearly Paint to the flower center although it doesn't show up very well in the photograph.
Now I can cross Imagination DT work off my list tomorrow, and move on to Clarity. Maybe I will share a card I made for Barbara in my next post, we'll have to see how I get on.

A Card for a Queen at The Stampman

Evening Everyone,
Today saw the start of a new challenge over at The Stampman where Sue is looking for a Card Fit for a Queen.
Well I finally managed to get my card finished this morning just in time for the main challenge to go live, but this is the first opportunity I have had to pop it on my blog.

The main image on the card is Stampendous CRW059 Cling Love Crest which I have stamped using a versamark ink pad and then Gold embossed.
I then cut it out using a Grand Nestie before adding Distress Inks Seedless Preserves and  Gathered Twigs.

I'm afraid that for some reason the close up photos make it look a completely different colour.

I painted the leaves and flowers with bleach before colouring with more Seedless Preserve and Bundled Sage ink.

Once I had finished colouring I spritzed the entire panel with a little water to give a mottled effect.

The main card has been randomly stamped and gold embossed using Stampendous CRP136 Cling Blossom Spray and then sponged with Seedless Preserve distress ink. I also painted the images and added a hand stitched border with a fine black pen.
'Queen' has been added using die cut letters which Jill the lovely Stamplady gave me. I have covered them in Frantage Shabby White Embossing Enamel. 

I stamped and embossed the Crown on to a scrap of card and added it using silicon after I had cut it out. I also added plenty of tiny pearls.

I added some Stardust pen to the ribbon and Clear Gelly Roll glaze to the L.
I am really pleased with how it all worked out.

Perhaps I would be better having a break from it except that I will be teaching tomorrow afternoon at Davina's and then I have a family get together on Sunday so that is most of my weekend gone.

One for Sorrow, Two for Joy

Evening Everyone,
I thought that I had better give you a break from samples made with the wonderful Decoupage stamps from Imagination and instead share a card that I made for Barbara. And it was one that apparently gave her pause for thought lol.

It was actually made using my principle of not wanting to waste anything :)
I had stamped and embossed the image a couple of times but had obviously got a stray speck of dirt on the stamp so that one of the birds didn't stamp out properly.

Two of the birds were OK so I decided to cut them out and make a frame of my own around the words with a bit of masking and a fine black pen..

I masked the area and brayered 'A la Barbara' using Adirondack inks Stonewash and Meadow and then stamped the small leaf around the edge of the panel using second generation ink.
I added a little colour to the birds which I cut out and attached using silicon.
The background paper is from my stash and has been stamped and embossed using black versafine and then over stamped with second generation stonewash ink.
I was rather pleased with how it turned out, if I do say so myself.
