Silhouette Style Grasses

Evening All,

My lovely friend Gill has set us the challenge on Facebook of using silhouette stamps.

I had a look through my card stash and found this card made a while ago using a handmade background, and a silhouette style stamp.
The backgrounds were made using a session with my Gelli plate, inks and stamps.
I love playing with my Gelli plate, you end up with a pile of amazing backgrounds, no two alike.
It's hard to stop cause there might be just enough ink for one more pull.
I think this fabulous silhouette style stamp is from Chocolate Baroque, but I wouldn't be able to swear to it. I do love floral images like these.
Thanks for stopping by.

Artists in Residence

Evening All,

Hope you have had a fun Saturday. We have. The Girls have been playing 'Jennifer' all afternoon.

I had to help Chloe obviously, but having shown Emma what to do with the Gelli Plate she was off and running without needing my help at all.

These are Emmas efforts all made with the small shaped Gelli plates.
Chloe was not playing the game with having her photo taken, but these are her pieces of art work.
This one even has the artist Chloe's finger prints in it. Signed for posterity.
They are playing with die cutting and embossing folders tomorrow so we are in for another fun afternoon. We have a date with the park first..........and a Costa and cookies.

A Masked Moon

Afternoon Everyone,

Monday again, and it's nearly time for my good friend Gill Till to post another challenge on The Christmas Card and Papercraft challenge Facebook page. So before this week is over here are a couple of cards using masking which she challenged us with last week.

Now I don't use it very often, so finding a card with it on was a bit of a challenge in itself, but one thing that is always useful is a nice moon in a scene.
I created my scene with plenty of fir trees, and added ground with a torn paper mask and sponged ink.
The moon is created in the same way by added a circle die cut from a post it note or masking sheet to the finished panel. I carefully sponged blue ink around the edge of the circle and once it is removed it looks like a full moon in the background.
This card was created in a similar way using a piece of background from my stash. I also added a fine line of sparkle pen to the outer edge of the moon for a little bit of bling.
I wonder what Gill will come up with this week to challenge us?
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and Craft.

Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge - Day 21 - Dark

Woodware Clear Singles Doodle Plants and Things A5 Stamp

Morning Everyone,
Well I made it through my first day back at work.
I was greeted with huge smiles and 'How are you', although I'm not sure that I needed the 'Lovely to see you.....haven't you got chunky' reminder from one of them!!!!!! I could have lamped him one.
It has seemed really weird with a screen between me and the customers, and a colleague who kept moving to the other side of the store like I have the plague, but I'll get used to it.
Still I did enjoy being able to get a nice fresh salad for my lunch, along with eggs and toilet rolls. Come on now, there has to be some perks to being on the front line lol.
Todays challenge at Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge  is Dark.
Now I wasn't quite sure what they were looking for here, so this is as dark as I could find.
A Gelli Plate background, stamps by Jane Gill, of course lol, and some lace and ribbon.
Just to show how versatile her lovely stamps are, here are a couple more cards made using the same stamp set. Another Gelli Plate background for this one.
Kaleidacolour ink randomly brayered on to yellow card stock for this background.
And a nice bright Bleedin Art tissue background for this one.
Have a great day, stay safe, and thanks for stopping by.

Floral Free for All at WoodwareWitterings

Morning Everyone.
We have a Floral Free for All this week at WoodwareWitterings.
I love floral stamps so the hardest problem that I had this week was deciding which card to share with you.
I finally settled on another card made for a Woodware catalogue using one of Jane Gill's fabulous designs JGS446 - Whimsical Flower Sally Anne
I love this flower as you will have noticed if you look back over my blog over the last few months.
I used a piece of handmade background paper from my stash and then stamped, embossed and coloured the images before adding the sentiments.
They are from the same stamp set just chopped up and added to the background using silicon.
I'm sure that there will be lots of fabulous floral designs to inspire you this week so don't forget to stop by again tomorrow.

Inspired by the countryside at Woodware

Morning All
It's my turn to Be Inspired by Nature at Woodware this week.
Not a hard challenge, other than to narrow down which of Jane's fabulous nature stamps to use as my inspiration this time lol.
I picked this fabulous JGS333 Cow Parsley stamped and embossed onto a piece of background created using my Creative Palette,
some metallic acrylic paints
and some bubble wrap.
The background was actually a second generation print pulled from the Creative Palette,
so I thought that you might like to see the card that I made with the first print.
The sentiment is from another of Jane's sets JGS406 Woodland Bird.
I hope that you are enjoying our inspirations this week.
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to see what the rest of the gang have been up to this week. HERE
Happy Crafting.

Blue Poppies for Hobby Art

Evening All,
It has been ages since I posted, and even longer since I posted on the Hobby Art blog. Life just seems to have got in the way recently lol.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago a fabulous new stamp set dropped onto my mat from Jenny, the October Stamp of the Month Poppy Heads.
I love poppies and this is no exception.
As luck would have it I had some pieces of Gelli Plate background on my desk and so I decided that I would use one of them as the base for my card. As it was blue I thought it would get away from the usual red poppies for a change.
This fabulous set comes with a text background stamp which I used randomly on my piece of handmade background paper.
I stamped and embossed the stems and leaves on to the bottom of the panel,
and then coloured them in using Spectrum Noir Alcohol pens.
I didn't want to have to do any masking so I stamped and embossed the poppy flowers onto some gingham background paper from my stash and then fussy cut them out.
I added some extra colour with Distress Ink and Black Wink of Stella and attached them using silicon to add a little depth.
The background to the card has been created by stamping and embossing the text randomly onto a piece of matching blue card stock from my stash.
Hope you like it.

Lovely Leaves

Evening Everyone,
Just a quick post tonight, some of us have to work tomorrow lol.
This is the card that I made for a friend who comes into work every day, and often acts as postman for me.
I used a piece of Gelli Plate / Creative Palette background and some lovely leaf stamps.
I stamped them out using dye based inks and then fussy cut them before adding them to the card using silicon.
No doubt work will be mental tomorrow after 10am, it usually is on a Bank Holiday.
Have a great day.

Abracadabra.........

Evening,
Thank goodness that week has come to an end. I've been really stressed out at work so it will be great to relax tomorrow with a lovely class at Davina's.
Another quick card tonight using a piece of Gelli Plate/Creative Palette background.............
Penny Black leaf stamp and matching die................
and a 'Wizardy' topper from LOTV.
I could have done with a magic wand and a spell book this week, there are a few people that I would like to have turned in to frogs.
Never mind, maybe I can practice for next week........abracadabra.

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday

Hi All
I've got a birthday card to share tonight made for a lovely neighbour celebrating her 96th Birthday.
She lives in the flats behind us and likes nothing better than watching the children play out on the green in the good weather. She says it keeps her young.
I made her a circular card using a piece of Gelli Plate / Creative Palette background from my stash.
The stamp is one designed by Jane Gill and was made specifically to be used with Card Candi.
I stuck the Candi on with silicon and then dry embossed the entire panel using a dotty embossing folder.
The sentiment is another Jane design.
Of course a girl has to have some sparkle so I added gems around the edge of the scalloped circle.
Chris is looking forward to Fish and Chips for her birthday treat, and I'm sure that there will be flowers and chocolates heading her way too.
Bye for now
