Bleedin Art Tissue - Part 2

Evening,
Yesterday I shared several cards made using Bleedin Art Tissue.
Once the ink has been bled from the tissue onto cardstock you are left with some pieces of tissue which have the most amazing patterns on them. Along with the majority of hardcore crafters I hate waste, and so here are a few cards made with some of that patterned tissue stuck onto some DSSSticker sheet.
I stamped and embossed onto this piece,
and then used thin undiluted bleach to remove the colour from the embossed image.
Another piece that I stamped and embossed onto once the tissue was stuck to the sticker sheet.
Just a small strip on this card........I told you that I can't stand waste. I added a little gilding wax to this which highlights the fabulous texture in the paper.
An incredibly old card here, probably made during my first encounter with Bleedin Art tissue way back in the days of The Craft Barn and fabulous wood mounted stamps from Magenta. I might just add a die cut sentiment to this one. They weren't around when this was made!!

Bleedin Art Tissue - Part 1

Evening,
I am making a very concerted effort to wade my way through the hundreds of cards that I have to share with you.
With that in mind here are a few cards made using Bleedin Art Tissue.
It can be quite messy on the hands, but it makes the most amazing backgrounds. It is tissue paper that bleeds colour when sprayed with water, so a few torn pieces sandwiched between a couple of pieces of wet card can give you two fabulous backgrounds.
It is also easy to just place a couple of strips of the tissue on a piece of wet card to create an easy background for a stamped and embossed image.
Once the background was dry I stamped and embossed the poppies onto it and then used bleach to remove the colour from the tissue before colouring the flowers how I wanted them.
Another bit of background and some simple stamped images on this card.
I do wish we would get some sunshine so that my crafty mojo might put in a return appearance. It's a good job that I have got so many cards to share with you, as I certainly haven't been making many just recently. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.......and the next day.
Thanks for stopping by.

White Embossing and Bleach

Evening,
Painting with bleach, is the nearest I like to get to housework. I love the effect that you get when you paint a stamped and embossed image with thin undiluted bleach.
Here are several cards made using fabulous floral stamps designed by my friend Jane Gill for Woodware.
I have stamped and embossed in white for all of the cards
but I did try a variety of cardstock, as not all will allow the colour to be bleached out.
It is amazing the variations you can get just with black cardstock.
And then of course there is always dark blue.

Back in the Zone

Evening,
Finally a successfully crafty day. I have been distracting myself with my cross stitch over the last few days, in the hope that following a pattern that I have chosen and love, will get my creative juices working. But with a deadline looming I have had to just sit and play, and I have finally got in to the zone.
Of course I can't share any of it with you, so here instead are another couple of cards made using fabulous Aall and Create stamps and Distress Oxide inks.
I do love a mop up background, they are always so different.
I have to admit though that sometimes it is a bit of stamping that turns them from something that I am really not sure about, into something that I absolutely love, and a bit of painting with bleach never hurts.
Another fabulous way to use Distress inks and Oxides is with this rather wet and wispy Watercolour stamping technique.
It is so much easier to achieve if you use a Misti or Stamping Platform of some type as the technique  requires that you re-stamp over the image once you have first stamped onto the wet card with your Distress inks.
Now I just need tomorrow to be as successful as today and I'll be a happy bunny.

Bleached Flowers

Evening,
A couple of quick floral cards tonight using bleach and pearlescent paints.
I stamped and gold embossed the floral image across the brown base card.
I then painted the images with thin undiluted bleach. Not all card stock will bleach out the colour so you need to experiment a little before creating your card.
The main floral image has been coloured using pearlescent paints and then added to the main panel along with a sentiment.
The second card uses the same floral image only this time the background panel has been stamped with bleach.
I do love this technique, it is the nearest I like to get to cleaning lol.

Cards for Men

Afternoon,
What a lovely day it has been today, for the first time in weeks I actually managed to get washing out on the line..........without making it rain!!
I don't know about you, but there are some months when most of the cards I need to send are for men, and February seems to be one of those.
Now I know that a lot of men are gardeners and therefore like flowers, but I do think they want something a little less feminine than a lot of my floral cards turn out to be.
I went through my boxes of cards and found several that I think are more particularly suited to the men of our acquaintance.
A bit of mop up background, a die cut border and some leaves.
More mop up here along with some fussy cut leaves and coloured berries.
I used the same leaf that I die cut in black to create the stamped background. Dies have so many fabulous uses.
A beautiful stamped image and some fussy cutting.
Stamping with bleach and metallic embossing powders.
And this card made more years ago than I care to remember, but one that I have always loved.

Pretty in Pink for the Moonwalk

Evening,
I decided at the end of last year that my daughter and I were going to do the Moonwalk again.
We did it in 2018, and thoroughly enjoyed it, such a brilliant atmosphere.
So now I have finally gotton around to signing up. We are hoping that my other daughter, and eldest Grandchild will join us, but there is no backing out for the two of us now lol.
I figured that I needed a nice pink card for tonights blogpost and so here is one with some stamping done in bleach on the pink background.
I coloured and fussy cut a floral element to add to the sentiment.
I used the bleach stamped left over strip on this card,
with another slightly larger fussy cut floral element.
Now that we have signed up to the Moonwalk they will be sending a Training Plan to help us get in shape before 20th May. It seems such a long way away, but given that we start February tomorrow it will be on us before we know it.
If you would feel able to sponsor me HERE I would be extremely grateful. I think we all have someone in our lives that is, or has been affected by this dreadful disease.
This is a picture of my daughter Becki and myself when we participated in 2018.

I Did My Homework Sylvie

Evening,
There is nothing like spending the day with good friends and playing with crafty goodies.
We get together once a fortnight and I 'teach' them, although we usually all learn from each other.
Sometimes there is a miscommunication, or misunderstanding of the technique and bits of card get thrown in my direction with a 'See what you can do with that!!'
One such occasion was when we were last playing with bleach.
One of the Girls tried to heat emboss the image that she had stamped with bleach, but of course the powder didn't stick very well before it was heated so it resulted in a very patchy background which she didn't like.
I, on the other hand, rather liked it so I turned it into the background to a couple of these cards. I gold embossed some extra leaves which is what was supposed to happen, and then painted them with thin undiluted bleach. I added the fussy cut leaves to panels of the patchy background. Perfect for a couple of Men's cards I think. I hope that you agree Sylvie.
Not all cardstock will bleach, but when it does you can get some fabulous colours.
I love to use it to stamp a background, as well as painting with it. Create a stamp pad with some folded kitchen roll and add the thin undiluted bleach to it.
Now I'm home and packed away I need to get on with my own homework. There are always bits and pieces to finish off after class, and I'm trying hard not to let them build up.
Thanks for stopping by.

Grid Cards

Evening,
I've managed to catch up with all my sample making for Creative Expressions this afternoon, and get the parcel in the post, so I have a tidy desk.........for 5 minutes at least lol.

Here are a few cards that I made last year using a simple masking technique to create the background panel.
I taught it many years ago as an introduction to Masking, a Part 1, so to speak.
I used post it notes and black ink to create the grid lines,
but it looks just as good in gold on black.
I have used an assortment of stamped and coloured images
as the focal point on the cards,
along with some good old Penny Black Stickeroos (first two samples).
I can't believe how quickly the days come round. It's 'Stitch and Bitch' again tomorrow, my Wednesday morning stitching get together. I so look forward to it and am making headway on the cross stitched panels for everyones Christmas stockings.
Thanks for stopping by.
