Challenging the Little Grey Cells.

Evening,

Another lovely class today. It seems ages since we have crafted together since we took a week off to visit Ally Pally last time. I do think that I challenged their little grey cells though lol.

Someone had asked to do a class on Shaker cards, so I took along an assortment of dies to use as the main image, including some of the new Sue Wilson Panel dies.

I didn't get to finish anything in class, so here is a card that I made a while ago for Janice and Andy at SirStampalot.
I used an assortment of dies
and a piece of mop up background for the base card.
You can pop anything into the card for the shaker element including glitter and the tiny bits that drop out of the dies when cutting them.

The class was a great way to use up some of the numerous sequins that I seem to have acquired over the years. I took along a box full of glitter and dies that would cut out tiny pieces as the shaker element.

I took some samples that I have already shared with you HERE which gave the Girls something to copy while they got the hang of things.

As usual I have loads of ideas for cards rolling around in my head, just no time to put them in to practice. I will at least try and finish off the one that I started in class, because I then have a DT box to attend to, and classes to plan for my trip to SirStampalot in the very near future.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Celebrate the Sunshine

Evening,

I had a wonderful weekend with the 'Littlies'. It was so nice to hear them out in the garden in the sunshine. I managed to get a bit of weeding done before the weeds get too big and strangle all the plants. Why is it that weeds seem so easy to grow, whatever the weather, but we have to be so careful with anything pretty that we plant.

Thankfully I know enough about gardening to know that it was too early to plant anything despite the beautiful sunshine. I got an early lift home as reward for all my efforts, and there was a heck of a frost when we left. It would definitely have killed off anything fragile.

Here is a card that I made recently after our class on Altenew Stamps, Dies and Matching Stencils.
I do love these stamps, and they are so much quicker and easier to colour now that they have matching stencils.
This set also has coordinating dies which makes it even easier. I do like easy.
I layered the die cut and coloured floral images over a couple of plain stamped and embossed ones.
I used the stencil on a square of cream card and cleaned my brush though it to give a lovely subtle background.
Finishing touches, a few pearls and a die cut sentiment, stacked and covered in glossy accents.
Back to work tomorrow, so I had better get an early night.
Thanks for stopping by.

Spring has Sprung

Evening,

What glorious weather we have had over the last few days. Spring has definitely sprung, although it has been rather chilly when you are in the shade. Isn't it amazing how much better we all feel when there is some sunshine about?

I have been on a couple of nice long walks in the sunshine, including one this morning with Chloe, my youngest Granddaughter. We have enjoyed the weather, and looking at the lovely spring flowers and blossom. She always likes to point out all the flowers and also count how many dogs we see on our travels.
No chance for any crafting today, so here is a pretty floral card made for Janice and Andy at Sirstampalot using lots of fabulous dies.
Not specifically spring flowers, but bright and cheerful none-the-less.
We have made a start on sorting out the garden at Becki's, so the kids have enjoyed being able to get outside to play. Coats were definitely required, although it was a little bit of a challenge to get them to put them on. Children just don't seem to feel the cold like us oldies lol.
I have digging and planting duties tomorrow, and a movie night in the pipeline, so another busy day. Better get in some snuggle time with my 'Besties' it will be my reward for all the gardening.
Have a great weekend. Enjoy the sunshine if you can.

Happy Birthday Jack

Evening,

OMG it's Monday again. It comes around so quickly these days, and it was a rather fresh one too this morning. Lovely and bright, but perishing cold. A regular customer and I decided that we are definitely wimps when we saw several people in T shirts. We will stick to our winter coats and scarves thank you very much.

It was a special little boys birthday on Friday. My youngest Grandson turned 3. He has a very good vocabulary, but has also found the phrase 'It's not fair!!', with stamped feet for maximum effect. Even his 4 year old sister has started looking at him and saying 'Life's not fair'. She has obviously heard us say it far too many times lol.

He is heavily into Paw Patrol, but also likes dinosaurs, so I went with this rather fabulous image from Polkadoodles Sticks and Bones Collection.
You can buy individual digi images both coloured and line art,
or you can go for the bundle which inculdes all sorts of extra elements including backgrounds.
I die cut the image using an oval die and added a glitter matt and layer.
I trimmed the background image and added it to a large kraft card.
before adding Jack's name and a sentiment strip.

Once again Mummy impressed us all with her cake making skills.
Thanks for stopping by.

An Udderly Brilliant Time

Evening,

How exciting, we finally got to go to a craft show at Ally Pally, the first time in over 2 years. It was quite small, but it was so nice just to be out amongst other crafty people. By happy coincidence it has fallen on what would have been a class day so we went for a day out instead. 'The Girls' have all been looking forward to it, counting off the days and preparing our shopping lists. I'm not sure that any of us stuck to those lists, but I think that we all had a great time.........I know that I certainly did.

There were lots of Woodware products on sale, so here are a couple of cards that I made using one of  Jane's fabulous Fuzzy Friends stamp sets.
Connie the Cow comes complete with sentiments
and lots of tiny extras.
I used a Woodware stencil and some glossy paste for the background, which gave me a piece big enough for both cards.
Time for some sleep now and then a day of play. Probably not with any of my new goodies as I have some DT work to complete but I will have lots of crafty fun that's for sure.
Thanks for stopping by, sorry I have been AWOL for a while.

Sending Love and Sympathy

Evening,

Unfortunately I have another Sympathy card to send today.

A lovely lady finally gave up her fight.
This card was made a while ago using bits and pieces from my stash,
and a rather lovely die from Creative Expressions.
Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Auntie Weena

Evening,

I had to put all card making and quick thinking skills to work this afternoon, when Emma announced that she needed two birthday cards for the party that she was going to.............in 15minutes time!!!!

Thank goodness for a drawer full of Kanban and other assorted die cut goodies which Davina has given the kids over the years. 'Auntie Weena', as the kids loving refer to her, is often having a clear out of bits and pieces that she thinks the kids might like to craft with, and they certainly came in to their own today.

Stupidly, in my haste to put something together, I didn't take photos, but Emma was pleased so that is all that matters.

This card is probably the nearest I have to a quick and easy card from my picture stash.
An embossed background with a bit of ink,
a few die cut bits and pieces from my stash and some pearls. Definitely quick and easy.
The kids have another couple of parties to go to soon, so I think that we had better see if we can put a few cards together tomorrow so that we are ahead of the game.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Fabulous Friends

Evening,

Today is the birthday of two fabulous friends, so here is the card that I made for one of them. Pia is currently in Bali so I sent this out with her so that she had something to open on the day.

Thank goodness for my LOTV Simply Print images.
I found this one in my stash. Pia is my 'gym buddy', but we have been known to forgo the exercise for a trip to the local coffee shop. Well, you can't be good all the time can you, it is VERY bad for you lol.
As I had two copies of the image printed out I did some fussy cutting and added it over the first one with silicon.
The background paper is from my stash, with a little added stamping and then finished with a stamped and embossed sentiment panel which says it all.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.
With love and hugs.
