Bleedin Art Tissue - Part 2

Evening,
Yesterday I shared several cards made using Bleedin Art Tissue.
Once the ink has been bled from the tissue onto cardstock you are left with some pieces of tissue which have the most amazing patterns on them. Along with the majority of hardcore crafters I hate waste, and so here are a few cards made with some of that patterned tissue stuck onto some DSSSticker sheet.
I stamped and embossed onto this piece,
and then used thin undiluted bleach to remove the colour from the embossed image.
Another piece that I stamped and embossed onto once the tissue was stuck to the sticker sheet.
Just a small strip on this card........I told you that I can't stand waste. I added a little gilding wax to this which highlights the fabulous texture in the paper.
An incredibly old card here, probably made during my first encounter with Bleedin Art tissue way back in the days of The Craft Barn and fabulous wood mounted stamps from Magenta. I might just add a die cut sentiment to this one. They weren't around when this was made!!

Gilded Flowers

Evening,
Just a quick post tonight, I'm feeling absolutely shattered, and not from any particularly strenuous activity lol.
Nothing beats a nice 3D embossing folder,
some gilding wax,
and a die cut sentiment for a quick and easy card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Just Wanted to Say......Thank Goodness it's Friday

Evening,

I think this first week after Christmas, and going back at school has been a challenge to everyone, especially my youngest grandson. I think we are all uttering those immortal words......Thank Goodness it's Friday lol.

So here is a card with a very appropriate sentiment.........just fill in the blank.
I used a beautiful 3D embossing folder, red cardstock and some gold gilding wax.
The black card has also been embossed and then a white ink pad gently rubbed over it to highlight the embossing.
Another stunning folder, this one also comes with a matching die.
Once again I used red cardstock and gilding wax,
and layered it over an embossed white panel. Again you can fill in your own sentiment, Happiness is.........Friday perhaps :O)
The Girls have a rather hectic social whirl tomorrow and Sunday with several parties to attend, so I suspect that everyone will be a little fraught by the end of the weekend, although probably not enough to be glad that it is Monday!!
Thanks for stopping by.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 23

Evening,

It never ceases to amaze me how different a stamp, stencil or embossing folder can look with just a change to the colours used.

The cards I am sharing tonight all use a fabulous 3D embossing folder.
I have used traditional reds and greens for the first two cards,
and then I opted for a more contemporary blue and purple theme.
And finally several colours of gilding wax.
Thanks for stopping by.

Lest We Forget

Evening,

Today is Armistice Day. Each year on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month we remember all those that fought for us in the 'War to End All Wars' and all of the conflicts that have happened since.

The poppy has become a symbol of respect and support for the Armed Forces, Veterans and their families, so here is a card made using one.
This uses a fabulous rub-on which I added to a piece of white cardstock, before die cutting with an oval stitched die set from Creative Expressions.
The background uses an embossing folder, distress inks and gold gilding wax.
I have worn my poppy with pride and observed todays silence at 11am............Lest We Forget.

Finishing Off Christmas

Evening,

I did wonder what the weather would get up to this weekend after our amazing assortment on Thursday. It was a very mixed bag........torrential rain, so heavy that it sounded like huge hail stones, brilliant sunshine and then to round off the afternoon hail itself and heavy snow, albeit only for a few minutes.

In view of the snow and the fact that we were finishing off Christmas cards in class on Saturday I have decided to share a Christmas card with you tonight.

I have used a 3D embossing folder and dark green cardstock for the background along with a little gold gilding wax.
The stamped panel was created using an image taken from a piece of Alcohol inked Yupo paper using an Alcohol Lift ink pad. I also used a Tim Holtz stencil in the background along with a stamped and embossed sentiment from Woodware.
I die cut my panel and then left the die in place while I added ink around the edges. This creates a fabulous faux matt and layer.
I managed to finish off envelopes and inserts for quite a few Christmas cards on Saturday. It's amazing what you can get done when you are surrounded by lovely crafty friends.
Hope that you had a great weekend.

A Stag through the Trees

Evening,

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. Getting back to work after the refit has been totally mad, and very tiring. A few days off to craft was lovely, but then the madness began all over again. So it was lovely to play on Saturday amongst friends, and then go home to a house full of people, including the littlest Grandchildren, to celebrate my birthday, albeit a day early.

My actual birthday on Sunday started very early indeed, with an extra day at work and a 4am start!!!!

Still an early start means an early finish so not all bad, although I was so shattered that I spent most of the afternoon and evening trying not to fall asleep.........................I wasn't altogether successful lol.

It was another 4am start today, so I wasn't sure that I would even manage to get a post done.

Sunday was also the birthday of a good friends husband, although he is much younger than me lol.
Here is a rather atmospheric birthday card that could be send to any man.
I made it for the class recently on Ink Sprays and Clingfilm. This technique makes fabulous backgrounds, here used with a die cut stag amongst the trees.
I added a moon mask and some ink to mimic the moonlight through the trees.
The die cut birthday, and the stag frame have been cut from black card and then highlighted with gold gilding wax.
Better get some sleep now, although I get a lie in tomorrow, I don't have to be at work until 6am...........positively midday lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

3D Embossing and Gilding Wax

Evening All,

I really must add a class on 3D embossing folders into the schedule some time soon. They really do have the most amazing detail, and there are so many different technique that you can do with them. At one time my purchases were almost exclusively stamps, but now I probably buy more embossing folders and dies than anything else. Isn't it funny how your tastes and styles change.

The background to this card was made using a fabulous Crafters Companion 3D embossing folder, kraft card and gilding wax.
The panel in the center uses stamping and sticky embossing powder along with some foil. Now that's another good class lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Back with Edger Dies

Hi All,

Sorry I've been AWOL for the last couple of days, but with the Internet acting up, a few lines and no pictures was the best that I could manage on my phone.

We had a fabulous day on Saturday, playing with all sorts of edger dies.

This card was inspired by some of the samples that Jamie Rodgers showed on the TV a while ago, which I rewatched as part of my class prep.
I had promised myself that I wouldn't play with any of my dies when I got home, since I had so much that needed to be done this weekend. As usual I failed miserably in my resolve lol.
I just couldn't resist making this card. I took my Airless Misters for the Girls to play with along with the dies, and they are what I used to create the background for this card. I also used one of the pearlescent colours on the cream frame.
I used this die with an embossing mat, and then coloured the reverse of the image with some distress inks.
I trimmed around the edge of the die by hand since I had chosen to emboss rather than die cut.
I also added a little gold gilding wax, some gems and a stamped and gold embossed sentiment.
It's always nice to find an alternative use for your dies, to stretch the use of your supplies.
I finished my tag in class, using the same die, this time in the way that it was intended. I layered it over a piece of background paper from my stash, trimming around the edge with a pair of scissors, and then added a die cut and stamped sentiment.

I'm pleased to say that I managed to get a couple of other things finished, although possibly not as much as I would have liked. Still tomorrow is another day, as the saying goes lol.

BTW don't forget to set your recorders for Jane's shows on Create and Craft tomorrow at 10.30am and 5.15pm. She will be showcasing her new Festive Fuzzy stamps which I'm sure you will love.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Emma

Evening All,

It is special little girls birthday today. Emma is 6! How did that happen?

I bought some new LOTV Simply Print images recently, which I showed Emma, and this is the one that she liked best.
I have to say that it does remind me of her a little, she could definitely rock this superb outfit.
The image prints out twice on the same page, so I used the second one for added dimension.
I used a variety of circular dies to cut, matt and layer the central image.
I matched the colour of the flowers along with the background papers to the image.
I used a leafy embossing folder on the background which I highlighted with silver gilding wax.
I added her name using some stickers
and a die cut 6, cut from glitter paper.

I added glossy accents and pearl drops to embellish the image. It was hand delivered to her yesterday as the family all met up at Thorpe Park for a fun day at the park. I don't think that even the weather can dampen the spirits of a 6 year old at a theme park.

It dinner and another early night for me since I have to be up at stupid o'clock again.

Thanks for stopping by.

Black Magic Embossing Folder

Evening All,

Well I made it through my first day back at work........... just. I must confess that I have worn my splint for most of it, and my hand does ache a bit, but it's hardly surprising after 3 weeks off work.

It has been lovely to see how many people have missed me, particularly one of the girls who can now go back to her usual evening shifts instead of covering my stupidly early ones.

The amazing Maker Mania 3 finished last night, so here are a couple more cards that I made for Janice and Andy using the Black Magic technique, this time using the 3D embossing folder from the kit.
I coated the inside of the folder with white ink and then placed a piece of black cardstock inside before running it through an embossing machine.
After that I coloured over the white images with my watercolour pencils. Any type of pencil seems to work although the colours are stronger with some types. Just give it a go with whatever you have.
With this second card I embossed another piece of black cardstock using the white ink pad only this time using the other side of the folder.
I coloured and fussy cut the floral images and then layered them over a further piece of black cardstock which had been embossed inside the folder and then gently coloured with the gilding wax that was also part of the pack.
I am really pleased with how these turned out, particularly the first one which I think was probably one of my favourite samples from those that I did.
I definitely need an early night tonight, I didn't sleep very well last night and it's going to be a very long week lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Stockings to get me in the mood for samples

Afternoon All,

Time for a few Christmas cards.

As you know I babysit the littlest Grandchildren every other weekend so that Mum can go to work. I love spending time with them, but manage very little in the way of crafting, so this time I decided that I would take some watercolouring with me. I had a few more of these Christmas stockings to colour.

The Girls love to join in, as does Jack to be fair, so I let them colour a couple of the images each.
They loved using the Irridescent paint palettes that I had taken with me, and then they chose a couple of embossing folders for their backgrounds.
I am turning them in to cards, which I would have done already had I not stupidly left them behind when I came home on Sunday. Never mind, now they will be able to finish them off with me when I go there next weekend.
Here are my efforts,
complete with embossed background panels.
I added kraft foam behind the stamped panels to give added dimension.
As always a bit of gilding wax helps to highlight the embossing on the black panel.
I'm hoping that Jane will be pleased with what the Girls and I have done with her Stockings in a Row stamp set. It is definitely lovely to colour.
While we are on the subject of Christmas stockings here are another couple of cards that I made from bits and pieces I found in my Christmas box.
This one combines another of Jane's stamps, foliage this time, with a Magenta Christmas stocking.
I have to get into Christmas mode this weekend since I have Christmas samples to make so this is to get me in the mood.
Have a great weekend.
Stay safe and hugs
