Black and Blue Anniversary

Evening All,

Just home after a rather hectic weekend with the Littlest Grandchildren, I will definitely need my lie in tomorrow. Mind you it will seem strange not to be woken by Chloe tapping me on the shoulder and telling me that it is time to get up.

Here is another card using a silhouette style stamp, this time in monochrome colours.

I stamped and embossed the initial image, and then stamped the image again several times without reinking, to give a fabulous faded background panel.
I stamped the grungy background stamp onto the blue card and then added some pearls and a stamped sentiment for finishing touches.
Off to bed now.
Thanks for stopping by.

Multiple Resist Flowers.

Hi All
I've been having more fun playing with the Gelli Plate.
So much so that there is no time for photos before the ladies arrive for class so you will have to be content with this card that I sent a friend for her birthday on Sunday.
The background was made using the multiple resist technique, Hobby Art and Penny Black floral stamps.
I then heat embossed with a favourite Hobby Art stamp over the top in black.
I also dry embossed some dots on the right hand side and sanded them afterwards.
I added some dotty ribbon, a button and a rhinestone sparkler in the centre.
I dry embossed the left hand side of the card base with the same dotty folder.
Better get a shift on, people will be arriving soon and I still have the classroom to sort out.
Bye for now.

For my Mum

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a good week and are looking forward to a nice crafty weekend, I know that I am.
Now where do I begin to share all of the cards that I have made recently.
I think that maybe this one that I made for my lovely Mum for Mother's Day is a good place to start.
I have become quite addicted to my embossing folders lately, especially since I have invested in an E-Bosser.
I'm not usually an electronic gadget girl, but this is brilliant, although I did have a bit of a meltdown when the first folder that I tried to use just kept getting spat out!!!
After a bit of a rant I tried a different platform combination and we were good to go.
I taped a couple of programs on Create and Craft yesterday, so I am hoping that there will be some tips on how to use it with dies before I cut into the wrong plate lol.
The central stamped panel on Mum's card uses one of my all time favourite stamps from Penny Black, Distress inks and some Glimmer Mists.
The embossed panel in the background was created using my Gelly Plate, acrylic paints and more Distress Ink.
I added some stamped and stencilled images to the base card using Gold Encore ink.
The small panel with the diamond pattern was also pulled from the Gelly Plate.
The flowers and leaves were die cut from Core-dinations card stock with some added Card Candi and ribbon.
Mum is looking forward to one of her little road trips next week with her friend Liz. It's actually a 5 day break on a coach with hotel, meals and entertainment thrown in. She has a great time, and it would probably cost her more to be at home than it does for the actually holiday. Oh the joys of being a very lovely OAP.
Have a great time Ma, love you.

Happy Birthday Lovely Lady

Evening Everyone,
A very quick post tonight, with apologies for the quality of the pictures.
I took the card to work ready to send and had forgotten to take pictures, so I had to take these at the till where the lighting is not very good.
The card was made using a Penny Black stamp and Decorating Chalks.
I stamped the floral image onto white card stock using Versamark ink and then blended the chalks over it using a cotton wool ball.
The sentiment is one of my favourites from Hobby Art. I fussy cut around the image and layered it onto a card before adding some shrivelled ribbon and a button.
Unfortunately the lovely lady that this is destined for is currently in hospital so I hope that it cheers her up.

And tonight's leftovers.........

Hi All
Tonight I am continuing with my crusade to finish off some of the 'leftovers' from classes and demos.
It is amazing just how many similar looking pieces you end up with when you  have been teaching and demoing for as long as I have. And of course being the hoarder that I am they are all way too good, or potentially useful to be thrown away, and so another box gets filled!!
Now don't get me wrong, I do have the occasional purge, where the Grandchildren get a bag full of bits for their 'cutting and sticking', but the boxes still never seem to get emptied.
So I have decided that this year I am going to make a concerted effort to empty these boxes out at least a little bit.
Now I didn't say that I wouldn't stamp anything new, just that I would try to use up leftover bits and pieces first before I reach for anything new. Of course it hasn't stopped me buying things, I'm afraid that I am definitely an addict when it comes to my stamping stash. And please don't even think about sending me to rehab, I'm way past saving, and I don't think I want to be cured anyway. At least it keeps me sane lol.
So although the leaf panels (Penny Black) on both of these cards are from my stash, the fabulous background (Hero Arts) has been stamped, embossed and coloured using one of my newly acquired purchases.
And remember how I told you that a piece of vellum can hide a badly stamped greeting, well here is another one of those 'rescue moments'.
As you can see from the opening photo I still have several more pieces to finish, but at least I have made a start. How about you, how are your leftovers?
Hugs and happy crafting

Feel Better Soon

Hi All
I don't know about you, but 2013 ended for me with the need for several 'Hope you are feeling better soon' cards, so here is one that I made for my daughter after her surgery.
Amazingly all the individual elements to make the card were found lurking in my 'Bits Box', it's surprising what you can find when you start to look.
Of course I had to add a bit of stamping and embossing in the corners of the purple background paper using Penny Black 4347K Christmas Reds and Greens.
I even managed to find a handmade flower and some die cut leaves to match the stamped ones.
The circles have all been die cut using various Nesties.
I would like to enter this into the challenge at Craftyhands where Anything Goes.
Have a fabulous weekend.
