Bleedin Art Tissue - Part 2

Evening,
Yesterday I shared several cards made using Bleedin Art Tissue.
Once the ink has been bled from the tissue onto cardstock you are left with some pieces of tissue which have the most amazing patterns on them. Along with the majority of hardcore crafters I hate waste, and so here are a few cards made with some of that patterned tissue stuck onto some DSSSticker sheet.
I stamped and embossed onto this piece,
and then used thin undiluted bleach to remove the colour from the embossed image.
Another piece that I stamped and embossed onto once the tissue was stuck to the sticker sheet.
Just a small strip on this card........I told you that I can't stand waste. I added a little gilding wax to this which highlights the fabulous texture in the paper.
An incredibly old card here, probably made during my first encounter with Bleedin Art tissue way back in the days of The Craft Barn and fabulous wood mounted stamps from Magenta. I might just add a die cut sentiment to this one. They weren't around when this was made!!

Inspired by Larainne

Afternoon All,
I spent a lovely day yesterday in the company of crafty friends. As always we talk up a storm about anything and everything.
One of the topics under discussion was where our inspiration comes from, and as I often remind them, we get our inspiration from all around us, including each other. I have rarely taught a class where I haven't learnt something from someone there, be it a colour combo, or in the case of todays card a slightly different layout to a card.
We were playing some years ago with a Punched Window card technique, that I learnt from another crafty friend Mynette,
I made several examples for them to recreate, but this card was definitely inspired by something that Larainne made during the day. I just loved the design and asked if she would mind me pinching the idea. Thankfully she said yes.
This is another card I made using a page torn from an old book for the background.
I dry embossed the frame before adding it to the card using 3D foam tape.
This is another card that I made for the class using a shaped die to cut the central panel.
Hope you are having a great Sunday, I'm off to do a bit more crafting I think.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cards for Men

Afternoon,
What a lovely day it has been today, for the first time in weeks I actually managed to get washing out on the line..........without making it rain!!
I don't know about you, but there are some months when most of the cards I need to send are for men, and February seems to be one of those.
Now I know that a lot of men are gardeners and therefore like flowers, but I do think they want something a little less feminine than a lot of my floral cards turn out to be.
I went through my boxes of cards and found several that I think are more particularly suited to the men of our acquaintance.
A bit of mop up background, a die cut border and some leaves.
More mop up here along with some fussy cut leaves and coloured berries.
I used the same leaf that I die cut in black to create the stamped background. Dies have so many fabulous uses.
A beautiful stamped image and some fussy cutting.
Stamping with bleach and metallic embossing powders.
And this card made more years ago than I care to remember, but one that I have always loved.

Just For You

Evening,
As you know I love cards where you get two for the price of one, so here are another couple of die cut cards using an inky background.
This card is actually made with the leftovers, by doing a bit of Paper Piecing.
I die cut this beautiful floral background die from white as well as the inky background.
I then added it to a piece of DSSSheet and placed the inky pieces back inside the main die.
The sentiment has been cut several times from kraft card and then stacked to it looks like a wooden die cut element.
I used DSSSheet here too, only instead of more paper piecing I cover the exposed sticker sheet with fine clear glitter.
I also used stacked die cuts for the sentiment painted with a clear sparkle pen.

Big Leafy Hugs

Evening,
I do love Alcohol inks, they work perfectly on such a wide variety of products including metallic cardstock.
I used gold metallic card for the embossed panel on this card,
which I coloured using alcohol inks.
I also added plenty of die cut leaves, shaped,
and then added using silicon glue for extra dimension.
I also added a rather dramatic sentiment across the embossed panel.
Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge in a Box

Evening,

Every now and then a new 'Challenge' arrives on my doorstep from the wonderful Janice and Andy at SirStampalot. I came home today to find one waiting for me. It is always such fun to open and root through all the fabulous goodies inside and get it always gets my creative juices flowing.

Tonights card was created from one such box of goodies.
The box contained background papers, a stamp set and matching dies.....among other things.
I used the die to cut the black flowers and then added a few of the tiny stamped flowers to the square panels.
I am always allowed free rein to add any extra bits and pieces that I choose, although I try to use items from Creative Expressions which are easy for them to get hold of. Here I added stamped sentiments from a set designed by Jane Gill.
So you can see what I will be up to over the next couple of weeks. :O)
Thanks for stopping by.

Spooky

Evening,

I spent the morning with my Mum and Sister looking through a load of old photos. We did have a laugh (old hair styles mainly) and a reminisce about long forgotton friends and family.

I found several photos from my school days and suggested that I really ought to share them on the school Facebook page to see if anyone remembers our time in the 6th Form. How spooky that when I opened up Facebook this evening an old friend (and my chief bridesmaid) had posted something on that very website!! So that gave me a very tenuous link to tonight's rather spooky card lol.

I gave it to my youngest Granddaughter for her birthday in October.

The spiders web is a rather large die from my stash
I love the leaves that were die cut from handmade papers. I also added a little gilding wax for added texture.
Chloe loves to go for a walk among the leaves so this seemed very appropriate.
I really must post those pictures tomorrow and see if anyone else from school pops up.
Thanks for stopping by.

Countdown to Christmas - Day 5 (Edited to add pictures)

Evening,

Having finished writing all of my Christmas cards, I have set up another production line, this time for Teachers Prezzies.

I showed my daughter a bag of sweets that I made a while ago as a Halloween gift. I thought that it might make a nice, and relatively cheap, gift to give the teachers at the school and Nursery. Little did I know that it would involve ALL of the teachers in the entire school not just the ones that the kids have in their classes!!

Never mind, I'm only too happy to be able to help, so I set up a bit of a production line with piles of all the individual bits so that the bags are quicker to put together.

No photos tonight I'm afraid as it has got too late, so I will edit the post tomorrow and add some.

Jane's Florals

Evening,

One of the major benefits of being retired, is being able to stay with the Grandchildren for an extra day after the weekend, because you don't have to get back for work.

It was lovely taking them all to school this morning, and then picking them up at the end of the day. Chloe asked if we could go for our treat at Costa. So we had a hot chocolate before coming home to read books and do homework.

This is a card that I made with one of Jane's fabulous floral stamps.
I rarely know exactly what I am going to create when I start making samples,
so I often end up with extra bits and pieces to make another card.
I did quite a bit of fussy cutting
and die cut some panels,
and made one card for Creative Expressions, and another for my box.
They are very slightly different,
because I hate to make the same card twice.
I've managed to make my laptop battery last for my stay. I do hope that I have left the charger on my desk at home.
Back to looking after Mum tomorrow. I wonder if she has missed me?
Thanks for stopping by.
