Bleedin Art Tissue - Part 2

Evening,

Yesterday I shared several cards made using Bleedin Art Tissue. 

Once the ink has been bled from the tissue onto cardstock you are left with some pieces of tissue which have the most amazing patterns on them. Along with the majority of hardcore crafters I hate waste, and so here are a few cards made with some of that patterned tissue stuck onto some DSSSticker sheet.

I stamped and embossed onto this piece,

and then used thin undiluted bleach to remove the colour from the embossed image.

Another piece that I stamped and embossed onto once the tissue was stuck to the sticker sheet.

Just a small strip on this card........I told you that I can't stand waste. I added a little gilding wax to this which highlights the fabulous texture in the paper.

An incredibly old card here, probably made during my first encounter with Bleedin Art tissue way back in the days of The Craft Barn and fabulous wood mounted stamps from Magenta. I might just add a die cut sentiment to this one. They weren't around when this was made!!

Bleedin Art Tissue - Part 1

Evening,

I am making a very concerted effort to wade my way through the hundreds of cards that I have to share with you.

With that in mind here are a few cards made using Bleedin Art Tissue.

It can be quite messy on the hands, but it makes the most amazing backgrounds. It is tissue paper that bleeds colour when sprayed with water, so a few torn pieces sandwiched between a couple of pieces of wet card can give you two fabulous backgrounds.

It is also easy to just place a couple of strips of the tissue on a piece of wet card to create an easy background for a stamped and embossed image.

Once the background was dry I stamped and embossed the poppies onto it and then used bleach to remove the colour from the tissue before colouring the flowers how I wanted them.

Another bit of background and some simple stamped images on this card.

I do wish we would get some sunshine so that my crafty mojo might put in a return appearance. It's a good job that I have got so many cards to share with you, as I certainly haven't been making many just recently. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.......and the next day.

Evening Everyone,

I hope that you have had a productive day. I chickened out of a walk this afternoon in favour of some crafty playtime. A no brainer really......walk in the cold and maybe slip over or sit in the warm and play!!!

One of my all-time favourite Hobby Art stamps has to be this floral stamp.

It was taken from a painting done by the Mum of my good friend Anna.

My stamp is an original wood mounted rubber stamp, but it is now available as part of a clear stamp set CS207D Jean's Flowers which also contains several of Jeans other fabulous painting inspired designs.

We all like to get good value for money, so we want designs that can be used in a variety of different ways.

With this in mind I have held several 'With One Stamp' classes over the years and this is definitely a favourite stamp to use.

There are so many different cards that you can make,

So here are just a few to get you started.

Some use hand made backgrounds and inks

Others are die cut or torn from a panel.

Some use several images,

while others only use part of one.

I will write a brief list of the techniques involved on each card just to give you some ideas.

1. Bleeding Art Tissue background panel. Images painted with bleach.
2. Spotlight panel of bleeding Art Tissue. Background stamping uses the damp tissue as an ink pad.
3. Bleeding Art Tissue background and Spotlight created from a panel die cut from Card 4.
4. Window Card. Image painted with inks. Die cut window used on Card 3.
5. Background panel created with Pixie Powders and cling film.
6. Stamped and Embossed image sponged with Distress Inks. Image painted with water and blotted with kitchen paper to remove ink.
7. Same as Card 7.
8. Stamped and embossed image painted with ink. Images on main card painted with Pearlex.
9. Torn hand made background panel, image painted with inks. Multiple Resist background.
10. Masterboard panel layered onto a piece of scrunched kraft card.
11. Mop up background panel with stamped and embossed floral image painted with inks.

Jumping in the Puddles

Hi All

I don't know about you guys, but one of the hardest things I am finding with all the current lockdown restrictions is not being able to get out for a daily walk because of the grotty weather. It was fine during the first one last year because the weather was nice, so a walk round the park was lovely, now it's just like walking through a bog so I'm afraid that I wimp out in favour of a cup of coffee and a sit down.

This has definitely been a problem with the littlest Grandbabies, they need to get out and expend some of this endless supply of energy that they seem to have. It is pouring with rain again today, but we have decided to put on our wellies, wrap up warm, and go and find some puddles to jump in.

So what can I find to cheer us all up on this cold and rainy day.

Here is a birthday card made a couple of years ago using a lovely LOTV topper, with a couple of fairies to herald in warmer days to come.

I trimmed it using a dotty square die and added some ink with the die still in place leaving the fine white border.

The background is a piece of 'Bleedin Art Tissue' which I have stuck to a sticky sheet. By screwing up the tissue paper before adding it to the sticky sheet you get added texture. I added some gilding wax to highlight this. 

We had a lovely time this afternoon.

We bundled up nice and warm in our coats and wellies and even got a wave from the tractors that drove past us. They probably thought that we were mad lol.

Of course there were loads of super puddles to jump in.

Several of them deep enough to go over Jack's boots, but it didn't put him off at all.

We went and played in the park where Chloe finally gave in..................and fell asleep in the swing.

Jack also crashed out on the way home, in the basket under the buggy.

Although he looks rather uncomfortable,

he stayed asleep under there for ages and woke up in a really 

lovely mood, which is not what we had expected.

The Girls were frozen by the time we got home, so they had a nice warm shower and snuggled up on the sofa in their dressing gowns to eat their lunch

and watch a film.

We try and get them out for a walk every day if we can and there are still some Christmas lights for them to admire,

including this fabulous tree.

They are much happier now they have been out in the fresh air and are now helping Mum make the dinner and show off their dance moves.

More Autumn Leaves.

 Evening,

Finally got some crafting done today. Hooray. Can't share it yet, so here is a card made with some left over bits from the card that I shared yesterday. You know me can't waste anything lol.

I used the stencil through my embossing machine for the left hand panel using inks for the faux letterpress technique.

I added loads of die cut foliage,

and some card candi,

More playtime tomorrow, I still have another 4 or 5 stamps to make samples with and get ready to send on Monday. No rest for the wicked lol.

Autumn Foliage

 Afternoon,

There is definitely an Autumnal feel in the air today, in fact it has been bloomin cold compared to the beginning of the week lol. 

So I thought that I would share a card with a fairly autumnal feel before I get down to some serious crafting. I have soooo much DT work to do this weekend, so I had better get a wiggle on.

I made this card a while ago using Bleedin Art Tissue. I love playing with this, but I always end up with messy fingers.

The panel with the tree on it has been created by placing some torn pieces of the damp tissue onto a piece of glossy card.

The leafy background is a stencil and I managed to find some Distress Inks to blend through it that match beautifully.

I added a few die cut 'fallen' leaves to the card with just a hint of gilding wax on them.

Handmade Backgrounds.

 Evening,

Well that was a rather interesting Sunday morning walk. We went up to the aerodrome again, which usually takes just over an hour including walking time.

Today it took 3 hours and a rather scenic detour before we ended up back at the Aerodrome and then home. Bloody traffic. Some HUGE, and I mean gigantic transporter caused absolute chaos as it drove off the M25 to dump its load at the substation in Croydon. You would think that they would have travelled at night to cause minimum disruption........or is that a female, non driver perspective lol.

Just a couple of little cards tonight using a couple of pieces of handmade background paper.

This one uses a piece made using 'Bleeding Art Tissue' with the image from a Woodware set designed by Jane Gill, stamped and embossed in black over the top.

This one uses a scrap of 'Mop Up' background and the same stamped and embossed image.

Celebrating with my Bestie

Evening Everyone,
It's been another boiling hot day here. Not quite as sunny as yesterday I don't think although I feel far more shattered.
Of course it might have something to do with trying to keep three little terrors occupied so that Mum could go and do the shopping before it got too hot, and then clean and tidy the house without them constantly pulling things out just as soon as she has put them away. I'm not saying there wasn't any of that going on, but at least there was another person there to distract them before it got to the 'hurricane has hit' stage lol.
We had several more water fights to keep us all cooled off, and the paddling pool came out again and we also managed to get loads of washing done and dried off on the line. All in all a very successful day.

Chloe has been my bestie again today, although one minute she is being an adorable little angel who will look across at me and say 'I love you Mamma', and the next she is being a demon who has pushed her brother over or stolen a toy from her sister lol.

I'm not sure about the angel wings, but she has certainly had Jack in an over affectionate headlock a bit like the teddy in this lovely LOTV image.

I have been looking through some pictures this evening now they are all safely tucked up in bed,

and it occurred to me that I don't think I ever shared the 1st Birthday card that I made for Chloe, which now sits in a picture frame over her bed.

It is gratifying to know that the card that you so lovingly made has been preserved as a feature on the bedroom wall.
Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow, apart from more washing that is, and another water fight to cool us all down if necessary.
