Happy Anniversary in Chalks

 Evening All,

Just a quick post tonight. I got a bit carried away with the card making, and I still have cards that I need to get ready to post tomorrow, so I can see it being a late night.

This is an anniversary card created using decorating chalks, patterned vellum and some ribbon.

I've used an old Hero Arts Shadow stamp for the background with pale chalks and then stamped the floral images over the top and covered them in darker colours.

Another one for the ever growing class list I think. I can't wait to be able to play with the 'Crafties'

Better finish those inserts before I get to bed.

Create your own Backgrounds for CCM&More

Evening Everyone
We have a new challenge over at CCM&More today.

Pamellia is hosting today. She would like to see something that you have created using a background you made yourself. So NO designer papers please.

I love making backgrounds so the hard part for me was choosing which particular technique to use.

I decided on one made using pieces of  Cut'n Dry foam and a Kaleidacolour ink pad. Shadow Stamping of a sort.
And yes, I know it's a Christmas card lol.
Having spent the last few weeks working on samples for the next Woodware Christmas catalogue I'm kind of in the groove as they say.

I used different shaped pieces of  Cut'n Dry foam to create my own 'Shadow Stamps'.

I inked them using a Fresh Green Kaleidacolour inkpad and then randomly stamped over white card using first, second and even third generation ink.

I stamped and embossed this lovely modern Christmas Tree from Woodware onto the background and then 'moved' the ink with a wet paint brush to colour the image.

I also added some Glossy Accents and Glitter Glue to the baubles.

Love from Hobby Art

Evening Everyone,
Well that is all my samples safely delivered for the latest Hobby Art TV appearance early next week, so I can cross another thing off my 'To Do List'.

I'm sworn to secrecy until they air next week, so you will have to be content with a card from Jenny's last TV show before Christmas.
Wow that seems such a long time ago now lol.

This card uses the fern from the fabulous Falling Leaves stamp set and a small Shadow stamp, also from Hobby Art.

The Shadow stamp has been inked with two colours of dye based ink and then the fern has been stamped and embossed over the top of this image.
I cut the image out using a nestie and then added some sponged ink and faux stitching.
The background card has been dry embossed using a sunburst folder.
I've tidied up my desk for now, but as it's on to the next pile of DT stamps tomorrow it won't stay tidy for long I can assure you of that.

Shadow Stamping with Hobby Art

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good day? I have had a very enjoyable one finishing off the cards from my class yesterday.

As I told you my samples for the class consisted of a single sheet containing several card ideas, so I have spent the day finishing them off.

I added some faux stitching, tiny dots and a peel-off greeting to this panel.

This panel made using circular Penny Black shadow stamps is mounted onto some background paper from my stash. I also added some ribbon and pearls.

This panel has been coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and then mounted onto some background paper. The greeting has been added in a Woodware banner, and I also added some stitching and a few gems.

I added a greeting to this panel using the same colour inks and then layered it over some card from my stash. Some gems were the finishing touch to this card.

The background papers used here are also from my stash, and I added some Card Candi. faux stitching and tiny peel-off dots.

This panel was actually created in class as I showed the Ladies how to create the texture around the edge of the shadow stamp by gently tapping a second colour of ink all around the edge of the stamp.
I also ran this panel through my Cuttlebug using a swirly embossing folder, and then gently sponged it with ink and Gold Gilding Wax.

This card was made using one of the etched Shadow Stamps also available from Hobby Art.
I have always loved these stamps as they are so easy to use to create fabulous backgrounds.
I am pleased to say that they are still available from Hobby Art even though they don't currently feature on the website. All you need to do is contact Jenny and let her know what it is that you need and they will sort it out for you. Now that is what I call service lol.

A card full of favourites

Hi All,
Well my samples are all finished, now if I can just find the energy to make two very special Birthday Cards then I will be a happy bunny :O)

This card was made a while ago, but as I have been playing with NEW Hobby Art stamps over the last couple of days it seemed wholly appropriate to share a card made with an OLD one.
 This actually has to be one of my all time favourite stamps, and I rather like doing 'Spotlight' cards as well.

I stamped and embossed the floral image onto a piece of background paper made with some Shadow Stamps and dye based inks. Another old technique that I like.
I stamped, embossed and coloured the image again on white card stock and then punched out an oval which I positioned over the background image matching it up exactly. This is what is known as a Spotlight.

I stamped and embossed the image along the edge of the green card and then painted it with undiluted thin bleach.
Wow this really is a card full of favourites - shadow stamped background, spotlight technique, bleach and a favourite stamp.
Well this isn't getting my cards finished is it, so I had better crack on.

Evening All

Where has another weekend disappeared to?

Here is another card from my 'To send' pile. This one is heading for Peterboro for Janice's Mum Francis.

The central panel has been made using an old Hero Arts Shadow stamp and pale lemon ink.
I have used this as a background to one of my favourite Hobby Art stamps which I have stamped and embossed and then coloured with dye based inks.

The other background papers are from my stash, as is the lace.
I had better go and get my uniform ironed,. Oh the joys of a Sunday evening lol.

In the Shadows

Evening Everyone
Have you had a good weekend?
It's still very quiet here, which seems very weird, and its been unbearably hot so I really haven't got as much done as would have liked, but that seems fairly normal don't you think. The weekend always seems to go by in a flash and then it's Monday again.

These are a couple of the cards that I made for the afternoon class at Lavender Lane on Saturday. The class was on Shadow Stamping. It's a great way of creating a coloured background.

With this first card, having created the background I have then used the same colour ink pad  to stamp my favourite Hobby Art Anna's Collection Just for You across the bottom and top edge of the panel. The greeting has been stamped onto a torn strip of vellum using Stazon ink.

This second card has a similar background only this time I've stamped and embossed the flowers in black to give a more dramatic contrast.

Once again I've added a torn strip of vellum which I have inked along the edges. No greeting this time although I might add one at a later date.
I often do that to a card, add a greeting when I've decided who the card is to be sent to, and for what occasion.
I'd better get to bed now before it gets too much later.

Woodware Challenge week 5 - Black and White

Evening Everyone,
Lets see if I can post this time without mishaps :) I don't know what was going on with my Internet last night but there I was blog post all written and ready to go and suddenly no connection at all.
I wonder if it may have had something to do with AOL as my home page seems to have changed but then what would I know lol.

I'm entering the challenge over at Woodware again.This week it is Black and White, which has to be one of my all time favourite combinations - so classy.  Bring it on Diane, is it just you and me again he he. 

It wasn't hard to find several cards that fit the theme so I thought that I would share more than one, in fact I think I may have to enter twice. Is that allowed Dorothy?

This first card uses one of the wonderful Stampendous Agapanthus stamps. The background to the card has been created with Shadow Stamps. I am actually teaching this technique at Lavender Lane on Saturday so this will give the ladies a heads up on what to expect. 

This second card  uses the Stampendous Agapanthus Cluster. I really do own other Stampendous stamps but this has to be one of my all time favourites.
It is actually a very simple card but a little creative mounting and it makes it look much more impressive.

The greetings on both cards are from Hobby Art.
I must go now as I still have to link this post and then some well earned sleep.
