Celebrations Challenge at CCM

Afternoon All,
It's my turn to host the challenge over at CCM this time and we are looking for Celebrations.
Now a 60th Birthday is definitely a good reason for a celebration, and this card was made for a friends sister.
The image is a Simply Print from LOTV called Time for You.
I printed out the image 2 to a page and then cut one out using a dotted circle die and layered it over a Tonic Floral Frame.
The other image was used to fussy cut the little girl and her hat. At this point I decided that I wanted some more of the flowers to embellish the card, so I printed the images out again (2 to a page) and fussy cut all the floral elements, hearts and butterflies.
The sentiment panel is a combination of stamps and a 60th die cut from glitter card using a Julie Hicky Numbers die.
I added the flowers, butterflies and tiny hearts around the sentiment and the rest of the card.
I also added some glitter glue and glossy accents.
I hope that you will find the time to join in with our challenge. I look forward to stopping by and seeing what you have come up with to Celebrate with us.
Stay Safe.

NEW - Home, Baby, Marriage etc for CCM&More

Hello Everyone.
It's the start of another week, and also the start of a new year of challenges over at Crafty Cardmakers and More.
Our host this time is Sally and as it's a brand new year we thought we would go with a 'new' challenge. So you can interpret that in many different ways, it could be to welcome a new baby, a new home, marriage etc. I am sure you can think of many different 'news' you can inspire us with.
I chose a New Baby card as I had several of them to make last year, and who knows what this year will bring.
I made and Easel card as I always think this makes a card just that little bit more special.
The topper is made from one of my LOTV pads and a selection of circle dies.
This circular greeting is also from LOTV and is great for personalising a card.
I added some leafy swirls,
and several other sentiments.
As I said I had several other baby cards to make in 2015 and so I thought that I would share them with you here.

I hope that you will join us for this challenge, but PLEASE be respectful of our rules.
Why not pop across and see what the rest of the team have made to inspire you, there are some truly stunning samples.
Happy Crafting and Hugs

SNOW for CCM&More, and a prize

Evening Everyone,
Oh dear, where on earth have the last couple of weeks gone?
I do hope that I can do better with this blogging lark in 2016, because I have been so dreadfully late with lots of them this year, and this is no exception, it should have gone live last Monday!!!! Sorry Boss :O)
Lin aka 'The Boss' is our host again at CCM&More, bless her, and she is asking for SNOW on your creations.
I cheated slightly and copied a card that I made for the last Woodware Christmas catalogue featuring this rather fun snowman.
I stamped, embossed and coloured him,
and then fussy cut him out, before adding him to some drifts of snow
created using some torn copy paper and glitter glue.
As this is the last challenge of 2015 for CCM&More, I decided that I would play Santa and give someone a nice crafty gift.
I delved into my stash and put together a few bits and pieces as a prize, I hope that you like it.
Don't forget to stop by and see what the rest of the DT have made to inspire you.

Twas the Night Before Christmas at CCM&More

Hi All
Well it seems that my fabulous crafty weekend with late night playtime has finally caught up with me.
This was supposed to be posted on Monday, but I keep getting side tracked (aka falling asleep at the computer lol), so my apologies.
We have another lovely challenge for you at CCM&More.
Lin is our host and she is asking for your project to depict a line from the poem 'Twas the Night before Christmas'.
We have printed the whole poem on the blog in case you are unsure, but PLEASE don't forget to tell us which line your creation depicts.
I had a rummage through my Christmas bits box and found this fabulous Magenta image that I coloured several years ago when I was demoing for Janice and Andy at the NEC.
The stockings are rather vibrant, and I added some glossy accents for extra dimension.
The background has been embossed using a brick wall folder and then gently highlighted using Imagination Alchemy wax.
I added some diecut icicles and glitter glue.
As I didn't have an appropriate stamp I hand wrote the line that my card depicts, 'The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.'
Please stop by and share the love with the rest of the team.

Winter Birthdays at CCM&More

Evening All,
Well that was hard, the first day back at work after two weeks off. I need my bed.
Before I do give in I thought that I had better share my card for the latest challenge over at CraftyCardmakers and More, where Josephine is looking for your Winter Birthday creations.
I went with cool blue tones for my card
using a lovely Woodware stamp set,
 some white embossing powder,
and the 'Wet Watercolour technique' using Distress Inks.
Background papers from my stash, and a few tiny pearls.
Thank you for stopping by. Why not check out what the rest of the DT have come up with to inspire you.
Off to bed now,

Thank You for CCM&More

Hi All
It's time for a new challenge over at CCM&More, and this time Julie is asking for you to create a Thank You card.
For my card I have used a couple of large Hero Arts stamps and a technique which I like to call 'Resist with a Twist.
First I stamped the Thank You background stamp onto white card using a black dye based ink. Make sure that this is completely dry before stamping and embossing the floral/leafy background over the top this time using versamark and clear embossing powder.
After this has been heated and cooled down sponge the entire thing with dye based ink and the clear embossed image pops through with the sentiments showing through that.
You could also use the page of an old book if you don't have a suitable script stamp.
The main sentiment is from a Woodware stamp set designed by the lovely Jane Gill.
I would just like to say Thank You for stopping by, and for leaving all of your lovely comments, I appreciate every one of them.
Nearly time to pack up for the day. I have had a great time playing in preparation for my class tomorrow evening.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT samples over at Crafty Cardmakers and More, there is plenty there to inspire you.

Autumn Colours at CCM&More

Hi All,
It's time for a new challenge over at CCM&More, and our host Jackie would like to see anything with Warm Autumn Colours.
I love Autumn with all its glorious colours so this was an easy challenge for me.
The central panel was created by tapping a Kaleidacolour inkpad on to an acrylic block, and then spritzing it with water before stamping onto watercolour card stock.
There is usually enough ink left on the block to create a second background, just spritz with more water before stamping.
.
This card has been made using this second generation background. Once it was completely dry I stamped and embossed the panel with one of Jane Gill's fabulous Weeds and Grasses stamps.
The background paper was from my stash and I have toned the colour down a little by sponging it with some co-ordinating dye based ink before stamping and embossing it with the same stamp as the main panel.
I wrapped the stamped panel with some bakers twine and then added a LOTV circular sentiment.
I hope that you will join in with us this fortnight. Why not check out what the rest of the team have come up with, there are some truly stunning samples to inspire you HERE.

Floral Embellishments at CCM&More, sorry I'm late

Hi All
Oh Dear, I did it again.
I am trying to pay catch up after spending a fabulous weekend visiting my youngest Granddaughter and realised that I haven't blogged my card from last Monday when we started a new Floral Embellishments challenge over at CCM&More.
I actually made this card for the latest copy of the Woodware Catalogue (page 16/17)
using a lovely floral stamp set, some Dreamweaver leaf dies
and my favourite Dutch Doobadoo Dotty stencil, dye based inks and Gold Gilding Wax.
I fussy cut all the flowers and added them to the handmade background using silicon to give them added dimension.
I hope that you get the chance to pop over and see what the rest of the team have been up to before the challenge finishes, and I will try and get round to visiting some of the lovely entries.
By for now.

No Patterned Papers at CCM&More

Hello All
I'm sorry, I've done it again. Added my card to the CCM&More challenge and then not been able to get on the Internet since. Well not on my laptop anyway.
I threatened it yesterday evening, taking it to my computer friend to fix, and lo and behold it was working this morning!!
Joe you rock as the ultimate threat to all things computer in my world.
Anyway, here is the card that I made for the challenge which is hosted by our fabulous Boss Lin
The challenge that she set is No Patterned Papers in your creations.
I made this card for a friend to give to her daughter using one of my LOTV toppers.
I cut it out using circular nesties and then layered it over various die cuts.
I also added some tiny pearls and a chip board number.
Please stop by and see what the rest of the team have made, there are some stunning samples. In fact Lin's card has made me want to add a couple more dies to my collection, as if I need any.
Also we are holding a DT call, so if you fancy being part of a fabulously laid back team please just add DT to your entry name.
I had better go and do some commenting now before the Internet disappears on me again lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Warm Summer Colours at CCM&More

Evening Everyone,
Well I have surprised myself and remembered to post my card for the new CCM&More challenge, even if it is a little late in the day, and I've nearly thrown the computer across the room trying to get it written.
Our theme this time is warm Summer colours and so I have chosen to share this card that I made for a friend of my Mum after she fell and broke her hip.
It uses one of my all time favourite stamps from Stampendous, Versamark ink  and Decorating chalks.
I matched the panel to some background papers from my stash.
I'm sorry that this is rather short and sweet, but it has taken me an hour and a half to get this much done, so I am going to quit while I am ahead.
Hope you enjoy the challenge, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have come up with.

Sentiment Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and More

Hi All,
Are you having a good start to your week?
We have a new challenge for you over at CCM&More, where Jackie wants to see your creations with an added sentiment.
I chose to share a card that I made for a friend at work on her Special Birthday.
I die cut the numbers from kraft card, highlighting them with Platinum Glitter Glue. The sentiments are a mixture of Woodware and LOTV.
I love this circular stamp, it is so good for marking the date of a special celebration with a drop of Glossy Accents.
The flowers have been die cut from paper to match the background, as have the leaves. Glitter domes make fab flower centres.
I had to get a bit of stamping in there on the background paper with ne of my favourite stamps Hero Arts F5042 Leaf Flourish.
I chose turquoise for the colour scheme of the card as this is Tharu's favourite colour.
I would like to enter it in the following challenges - I haven't done that in a while :O)
Craft for the Craic  - The Big Occasion
Aloha Friday challenge  - Birthday
Dragonfly Dreams - We are having a Special Occasion
Glitter and Sparkle Challenge 143 - Sentimental (Must have a sentiment)

My Mum text me today to say that she had been sent an alert that told the elderly to stay indoors due to the heat, so I am taking her advice.
What a great excuse to sit and craft if ever I needed one lol.
Have a great evening.
Hugs Kimx
