A little bit of Spring sunshine

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you are all still safe and well.
I enjoyed the sunshine today with a walk around the park and woods at the back of us.
It was so nice to get out in the sunshine, and yes I did observe all the government guidelines about keeping my distance from people.
I went with my Grandson when he took the dog out for a walk this morning.
We went through the woods, which kept us away from other people,
but also enabled us to find these lovely signs of spring.
Not the best pictures in the world. Definitely not up to the standards of my lovely friend Crafty Lou who takes the most amazing wildlife pictures, but not bad for my phone.
Let's hope that the sunshine continues tomorrow so that we can do it again.
Stay safe.

Ta-Da!!

Good Morning Everyone,
It's a glorious sunny day here, at the moment, even if it is rather chilly. It's amazing how that shiny yellow ball lifts your spirits.
So here is a nice bright card made using one of Jane Gills' new designs for Woodware.
The background is made using Pixie Powders, which we should have been playing with today in class.
I stamped and white embossed a sheet of watercolour cardstock and then added the pixie powders. They make amazing backgrounds which I love.
A little goes a very long way, so here is another card that I made from the same masterboard.
I even stamped and embossed the sentiment on a piece of the scrap.
By happy coincidence Hels Sheridon has been demoing with Colour Bursts on Create and Craft this morning. They are very similar products to play with, but the Pixie Powders contain mica which makes them sparkle.
So I think this should be my challenge for the week to my ladies, and anyone else that would like to join in. Play with Pixie Powders, Colour Bursts, Brushos, Nuvo Shimmer powders or anything similar that you may have in your stash.
Or if all else fails use your inks to create a nice bright card to brighten everyone up and then share it with me on Facebook.
Have a great weekend, stay safe and craft.

A Little Floral Zendoodle

Evening All,
As promised, if a little later than I would have liked, here are a few Zendoodled cards.
This started life as a Woodware stamped image,
to which I added some very basic doodles,
and then a doodled frame.
I'm afraid my Zendoodle skills are very basic.
I tend to stick to straight lines and then an added border around the stamp. Although if I remember rightly this stamp had a border on it to start with, I just filled it in.
Another Jane Gill design for Woodware. One of her Bubble Bloom stamps,
and more very basic doodling.
I did tell you that I wasn't very good at Zendoodle.
I love all the amazingly creative infilling that people manage.
While I seem to stick to nothing but the basics.
Still I had fun, and that's the main thing after all.
I managed to get over to my Mums today to do her shopping. It was heartbreaking not being able to give her a big hug, but at nearly 90 she is very definitely in the higher risk category for Covid 19.
She was shuffled round the house as my Grandson did the cleaning for her so that they were never in the same room together, and then we did the same thing when we arrived with her shopping.
I feel happier now she has some fresh fruit and veg, but can't wait to be able to treat her as normal.
Typical of my Mum she apologized for being such a nuisance......as if she was, it's the bloody lockdown that's the problem not her :O)
Anyway, I hope that you are all making the most of your enforced crafty retreats.
I'll be back tomorrow with some more to share with you.
Happy Crafting and hugs

A Little Birdie Told me it's National Poultry Day.

Morning All,
Isn't it amazing what you find yourself following when you are stuck indoors.
A couple of weeks ago it popped up on Facebook that it was National Wine Day.
No, I don't drink, but it did make the Girls in class laugh at a time when we were all struggling with one problem or another. Since then I have been following the website just for a laugh and a daily update.
So today as well as several other things we are supposed to be celebrating National Poultry Day. I'm not sure that you are able to get any in the supermarkets at the moment as the shelves are empty, but maybe that's not how we are meant to celebrate them anyway. I didn't read that bit lol.
I created these cards in a class several months ago using a Clarity stencil, some inks and a text background stamp.
Same idea, different colour combo.
I sponged the colour gently through the stencil and then added some stamping. Finally, with the stencil still in place I drew all around the edge of the design with a fine Micron pen.
All my classes have been postponed for the present, so I am setting the Girls a weekly challenge on our Crafty WhatsApp Group.
This week it is Zendoodle, or a coloured image with a fine zentangled border. It's their homework from last week. Perhaps I will do the same on my Facebook page just for a laugh. It might give people something to take their mind off the current situation.
BTW it is also
  • National Laugh Day (A little bit ironic at the moment)
  • National Certified Nurse Day - They are definitely worth celebrating.
  • National Chocolate Caramel Day - I can definitely celebrate that one
Oh and Spring Begins. You could fool me here it cloudy and miserable.
Have a good day. Stay safe and Craft.

You have to Believe

Evening All,
I hope that you are all well during this current madness.
Today saw the launch of the new Woodware stamps designed by my lovely friend Jane Gill.
Once again I was lucky enough to be asked to make samples.
I used a Woodware stencil and ink in the background along with a fine die cut and stacked frame.
The flowers and leaves are fussy cut from a piece of pixie powder background and added over the stamped leaves from the same Dog Rose stamp set.
The sentiment is from another new set called Good Things, and just at the moment we have to believe that things will be alright and we can all get back to some sort of normality as soon as possible.
In the meantime, stay safe and craft. It is the perfect medicine in this time of impending lockdown.
Thank you for stopping by.

Birthday Greetings to a good friend.

Evening All
Finally I have a fully charged and sensibly working laptop, so lets hope that I can stay awake long enough to write the post lol.
This is the birthday card that I gave my lovely friend Sue.
I always try and take a box of homework from the previous week with me to class.
We had had a wonderful time playing with stamps, stencils and sparkle and when looking through the box Sue indicated that this was her favourite card.
Music to my ears, and saves me the problem of choosing something that I think she might like :O)

Anniversary Wishes with love

Evening All
Just a quick post tonight, before my laptop locks me out. Oh to get my charger back so that I can use a more up to date computer lol.
Thankfully I found a few draft posts in blogger, so I hope that I haven't shared these cards with you before.
My apologies if I have.
They were made a long time ago using an embossing folder and the letterpress technique.
There was a bit of extra stamping on this one, and a lacy border created with a Martha Stewart punch.
All very different, but similar, if you know what I mean.
Been for a walk to the physio today so I can see a lie down, ice pack and foot elevation in my very near future. Apparently I have also aggravated my hip as well now. Oh Joy!!
Have a great evening.

Just checking in

Evening Everyone,
Sorry, no pictures tonight.
I foolishly left my laptop charger at Becki's at the weekend and my old laptop is not playing the game at all, so I will just have to hope that I can sort something out for tomorrow.
I haven't missed a day this year so I would like to keep it up if I can.
Hope you had a good weekend.

More UTEE Embossed Resist and Alcohol

Evening All,
We have had a wonderful day today celebrating the birthdays of four of our ladies, even though one of them unfortunately couldn't actually make it. March is a very birthday heavy month around here.
I seem to have run out of Green cards, so I thought that I would go with a couple more cards made using the UTEE and Alcohol ink resist that I shared with you on Tuesday.
Once again I used a fabulous large leafy background stamp embossed with UTEE and then covered with fairly dark alcohol ink colours.
I finished the card off with some die cut foliage, a stamped sentiment, and bakers twine.
This card uses a large flourish stamp,
along with some ribbons and die cut sentiment.
Another large background stamp, and plenty of blue alcohol inks for this card.
Once again finished off with a die cut and stamped sentiment.
Thank you for stopping by.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Green - Day 4 and a very Happy Birthday Barbara

Evening All
Day 4 in my series of Green cards in support of the CCM Challenge.
This is my first try at Picot cutting around a Groovi design.
I'm not too unhappy with it although I definitely need more practice.
I do love this rose design, and I added a frame around it.
Fairly simple compared to what my lovely friend Sylvie does, and a fairly appropriate post given that it is Barbara Grays birthday today, and she created the Groovi system.
Have a great weekend.
Happy crafting and hugs

Green - Day 3

Evening All,
Here I am again with another Green creation. Day 3 if you forget about Jacks birthday yesterday lol.
The Masterboard for these cards was made using leaf stamps that have been stamped onto green card
using thin undiluted bleach,
brown ink,
and versamark ink and gold embossing powder.
Each layer is done separately, and randomly, across the green cardstock and then this was cut up to create the cards. I just finished them off by adding die cut and stamped sentiments.
I Hope you have a great evening.
Happy Crafting and hugs
