Beautiful Brushos

Evening All

An old crafty friend posts a weekly challenge on her Way to go Wednesday, and it is a wonderful reminder of some of the fabulous products and techniques that we have played with over the years.

This time it is Brushos, or of course you could use Pixie Powder, Colour Burst, or any of the many similar products available on the market. All of these fabulous pigment powders give a burst of colour to card stock and make the most amazing backgrounds.

I used some left over scraps for this first card.....nothing goes to waste.

I stamped and embossed the flowers and then fussy cut them before adding them to the card over an embossed panel.

The leaf sprigs have been stamped and embossed and painted with bleach to remove the colour.

This card has been made from a piece of a Brusho Masterboard. The images were stamped and embossed in gold and then the same colours of Brushos were used to paint some of the images.

This card was made from another section of the Masterboard.

This final card was made with a bit of mop up background and painted with Brushos. It only takes a few grains of this highly pigmented powder to create a paint.

I wonder what Gill will remind us of next week, I always look forward to my trip down memory lane.

Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge - Day 30 Apeture

Morning All,
I can't believe that we are on the last day of the 30 Day challenge over at Creative Expressions, where did that month go to?

For the last challenge, they are looking for an aperture, so this is my take on it.

The background is created with a fabulous floral stamp, designed by my friend Jane Gill, and white embossing powder.

I sponged the images with bright colour Distress Inks, and then cut the aperture using a Sue Wilson rectangular die. I mounted the outer part of the panel onto craft foam to elevate it above the central panel.

As usual when I was designing my card I had to have a play, so I created a Masterboard using the same stamp and the Mop Up Technique.

I chopped up the Masterboard and created a couple of extra cards for my stash.

I'm afraid I'm very sad, and even the little bits get used up.

Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge - Day 28 3D (Edited)

Evening everyone,
Another late one, and I really should be in bed as I start work at five tomorrow morning!!!
It's 3D today over at Creative Expressions 30 Day challenge and I'm afraid that I am going to have to post my cards for it tomorrow as the ruddy internet is not playing the game.
I have managed to write this on my phone, but I cant import any pictures so I will have to update this tomorrow.
The wonders of modern technology and all that.

Goodmorning, I've done my 4 hour shift at work, and my walk around the park, and I have finally managed to get the Internet to behave, even if only briefly, so here are the cards that I tried to post yesterday.

I'm afraid that my 3D is limited to a couple of fussy cut flowers,

 and some Pinflair Glue Gel.

Both cards were created from a Masterboard of stamped and white embossed images, coloured with the Summer Garden Watercolour Palette.

It is a fabulously sparkly paint palette.

Green - Day 3

Evening All,
Here I am again with another Green creation. Day 3 if you forget about Jacks birthday yesterday lol.

The Masterboard for these cards was made using leaf stamps that have been stamped onto green card

using thin undiluted bleach,

brown ink,

and versamark ink and gold embossing powder.
Each layer is done separately, and randomly, across the green cardstock and then this was cut up to create the cards. I just finished them off by adding die cut and stamped sentiments.

Floral Masterboard

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a good day. Not too windy or cold?

Here are a few floral cards to cheer up your day, if it's been horrid.

They were all made quite a while ago using a fabulous stamp set designed for Woodware by my lovely friend Jane Gill.

I stamped and embossed the image all over a piece of mixed media cardstock and then coloured in the flowers using Distress Oxides.

I cut the sheet up in to pieces and this one used some of the ink on my mat to create a 'Mop Up Background' before I coloured in the flowers.

As you know I hate to waste any of the trimmings when cutting a panel for a card so I made a couple of smaller cards with the leftover pieces.

My Misti/Stamping Platform came in very handy on this card. It meant that I could restamp the images to use the left over strip as a spotlight.
One of the jobs that I have managed to finish during my enforced sabbatical from work is to sort through all of my cards. There are several large boxes of them, but hopefully I have managed to put them into some sort of order, even if it only by technique, or stamp design.
Now I just need to live till I'm 106 in order to blog them all, Because, let's face it, even with those boxes full I will still make more.

Twas the Night Before New Year

Evening Everyone

Oh dear, where did Christmas week disappear to??

To be honest I was working, so it rather felt much like any other day in the week, but I think that's what happens as you get older, it doesn't seem to have quite the same magic.
We always have less staff on Christmas morning so it was not a good start to the day when we were greeted by the bulk of our chillers going down and only two of us on duty. I had done 10,000 steps by about 11am, rushing backwards and forwards with stacks of food while serving customers in between.
I think that probably contributed to my Christmas afternoon being spent sound asleep on my bed. Oh the joys of getting older and being able to enjoy a granny nap lol.
Today was a little less eventful at work, although a did enjoy a brief lie down afterwards.

New Years Eve is always a rather hard day for me as it is the anniversary of my son's death. I had company to the cemetery today though as it would also have been the 80th birthday of a good friends brother so it's been a hard day for us both.

Christmas crept up on me again this year so I decided against sending out any Christmas cards, as they had more chance of getting there in time for next year than this.

Instead I made several Masterboards using white embossed images

and plenty of Distress Oxide sprays for quickness.

Once cut up they quickly transformed into a stack of cards to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.
I can't see me staying awake long enough to see in the New Year, but then I do have the excuse of another early start at work tomorrow.
So I will wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2020.
Thank you for following my rather sporadic blogposts. Let's hope that I can do better in the new year.

A snowflake Masterboard

 Afternoon  Everyone,
Three posts in four days, not bad going for me. That's loads of butterflies, so it must be about time for some Christmas cards.

I have literally hundreds of them made and photographed, so I really do need to start sharing them with you since just lately I seem to be adding a few more to the pile each month.

One way of making several cards at one sitting is by preparing a Masterboard, a favourite technique of my lovely friend Angela aka Felix the Crafty Cat.

This basically involves sponging and stamping over an entire sheet of card, which you then cut up to create several individual cards. 

Any technique is a go, preprepared backgrounds, gelli plate, sponging, stamping, stencils, combined together to create wonderful one off masterpieces.

I have used an old Inkadinkadoo snowflake stamp set along with a Blue Breeze Kaleidacolor ink pad to create my Masterboard, along with some silver heat embossed snowflakes and stamped sentiments. 

You can cut the panel up in any way you see fit.

It also means that you can use all of the panel, 

including all of the little leftover bits.

Off to do a little more commenting before I get back to craft, I have a class to prep for.

A floral masterboard.

Evening Everyone,
OMG, what happened to the sunshine yesterday?
I don't know what happened to the traffic either, but everything seemed to be going at a snails pace. So much so that I ended up walking home after an abortive attempt by my daughter to drive me there.
She was trying to be nice and drop me home after we had taken shopping to my Mum, but we got caught up in the tailback caused by whatever was going on on the M25........1 hour to cover a quarter of a mile!!!!
With three small children in the car all needing their dinner I ended up sending Becki home via an alternative route, while I continued home on foot which seemed the most sensible course of action. Not a bad walk really, apart from the torrential rain which appeared while I was half way home. I arrived looking a bit like a drowned rat lol.

Painting is always very relaxing, especially when the weather outside is dreadful.

We had a very enjoyable class a couple of weeks ago painting with one of my favourite colouring mediums...….Pearlex.

Most of the Watercolour Pearlex colours look so much better on dark coloured card stock,

so I created a masterboard by repeatedly stamping and gold embossing a beautiful floral stamp from Stamps by Me.

I painted all of the images with colours from a couple of my Watercolour Pearlex palettes.

I love the beautiful vibrant colours, with just a hint of sparkle. So much better in the flesh.

Once I had finished I chopped the masterboard up to create six different, but similar cards.

I also stamped and embossed the image onto a couple of strips of mop up background,

to create another couple of cards. Just what I need to send to several friends whose birthdays I have missed.
