Floral Embellishments at CCM&More, sorry I'm late

Hi All
Oh Dear, I did it again.
I am trying to pay catch up after spending a fabulous weekend visiting my youngest Granddaughter and realised that I haven't blogged my card from last Monday when we started a new Floral Embellishments challenge over at CCM&More.
I actually made this card for the latest copy of the Woodware Catalogue (page 16/17)
using a lovely floral stamp set, some Dreamweaver leaf dies
and my favourite Dutch Doobadoo Dotty stencil, dye based inks and Gold Gilding Wax.
I fussy cut all the flowers and added them to the handmade background using silicon to give them added dimension.
I hope that you get the chance to pop over and see what the rest of the team have been up to before the challenge finishes, and I will try and get round to visiting some of the lovely entries.
By for now.

A Trio of Tags for Woodware.

Hi All
I'm helping out over at Woodware again this week, and this time the lovely Dorothy has asked for a 'Trio of Tags'
I decided that I would use the same stamps but three different techniques to colour them in.
This first tag has been stamped and embossed using black ink and clear embossing powder. The images have then been painted with thin undiluted bleach.
Not all card will 'bleach out', so you may need to experiment.
Once the bleach had dried I coloured the images with watercolour crayons. I also splattered the tag with some 'Stardust pen' mixed with water.
The second tag has also been stamped and embossed with black ink and clear embossing powder, this tiime onto black cardstock.
The images have then been coloured with Dreamwaever Metallic FX - Goldfinch, Kimono Red and Ivy Garden and then splattered with a little of the Goldfinch.
The final tag has been stamped and embossed onto Kraft card using Versamark ink and white embossing powder.
This time I sponged the images with dye based inks and then coloured the ribbon with Stardust pen.
The finishing touches include some Glossy Accents on the berries, Gold Gilding wax on the edges of the tags and some shrivelled dotty ribbon.
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have been up to.

Christmas trees

Evening All,
Another really late post I'm afraid, but I have a very good excuse, I've been doing my homework lol.
We had another fabulous class at Davina's playing with just a few of the new Christmas stamps from Woodwsre.
I always try to come home and finish off the bits and pieces that result from showing the girls a particular idea or technique in class.
So here is my finished card after today's lesson. I stamped and embossed the trees onto a piece of watercolour card and coloured them using dye based inks.
I coloured the baubles with red and white Wink of Stella pens.
The greeting belongs to the same stamp set, and then the panel has been layered over a piece of red card that has been pressure embossed using a Doobadoo brick wall stencil. I have added some highlight to the bricks using gold gilding wax.
I still have a couple of other bits to finish off, but at least I have made a start.
Better get some sleep now if I am going to get anything else finished.

A new Sketch at Woodware

Edited to include product links
Hi All
I'm back again with a card for the Woodware blog, where I am once more helping out.
This week they have a sketch for you.
I always find them really useful if ever I am stuck for a card idea.
The inspiration for the stamped panel on my card actually came out of trying to help out a lady on one of my classes. She had seen a technique demonstrated at Ally Pally, bought all the equipment and then forgot what she was supposed to do. Haven't we all 'been there, done that' lol.
I had to do a bit of improvisation with the ingredients till I could track down the demonstrator,
so my background has been created using dye based inks and one of my favourite Doobadoo stencils Mask Art Bubbles.
I sponged the darker ink over white card with the stencil in place and then sponged the entire panel with a lighter ink once the stencil had been removed.
I then replaced the stencil and added some glitter glue using a piece of cut and dry felt to burnish the glue on to the paper so that it just highlights the edges of the circles.
I'm not usually a lover of glitter glue, but I must admit I have become a little bit addicted to this particular technique. It was also a great way to use up a bottle of glitter glue that came out of the bottle in long strings instead of  nice little drops.
I was loathe to throw it away, you know what us crafters are like, and now I'm so glad that I didn't.
Once that panel had been allowed to dry I then stamped over it with one of Jane Gill's fabulous floral stamps JGS333 Cow Parsley Flower Heads.
I'm going to have to come back and amend the post with some codes and links, but if I try and do that now I might fall asleep and you would get a half finished scheduled post.
I added some extra ink to the edges of the main panel along with some faux stitching, which I also added to the sentiment panel from JGS379 Everyday Verse.
I would like to thank the lovely Jean from BJCrafts for sharing her technique with me, even if I have used totally different products.
Isn't that the lovely thing about crafting, trying out an idea and putting your spin on it.
Don't forget to stop by the Woodware blog to check out what the rest of the team have been up to this week.
And here is the sketch that I have used, I forgot to add it to the original post.

Bye for now.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Christmas cards at Davina's

Hi All
Just a very quick post tonight.
I can't believe how late it has got. I am teaching at Davina's tomorrow, and given how cold it has got lately I think the Christmas cards that we will be making will be very appropriate.
This is one of the samples that I made for the latest Woodware catalogue and it is one of the cards that we will be making in class.
I love this cute snowman and was really happy with the colour combo.
Of course there had to be a bit of glitter and some glossy accents.
Bye for now.

Emma meet Adam

Evening Everyone,
Another miserable day weather wise, I do hope that it brightens up a little bit some time soon.
As you know, yesterday would have been my son Adams' birthday. I was coping reasonably well until my daughter sent me this fabulous photo of my Granddaughter Emma, complete with message.

'Mummy's been telling me all about Uncle Adam.
We r thinking about him and u today. Love you very much xxx'

Not that I am complaining you understand, it just tugged rather hard on the heart strings and got the tears flowing.
It is so lovely to think that all of the Grandchildren are growing up knowing and talking about their Uncle Adam even though only Megan ever met him and she was too young to remember.

Wishing You Every Happiness

Evening Everyone,
Wow, what a day it has been, full of torrential rain. This type of weather seems to have become typical for a Bank Holiday Monday.
Today would have been my son Adam's birthday, and I can assure you that we were in the middle of a heat wave 34 years ago.
By co-incidence today is also my cousins birthday, and so I thought that I would share the card that I sent her.
It was made using various bits and pieces from my 'To Finish' box.
The leaf panel is from a fabulous set which I have stamped and embossed using white embossing powder, and coloured with Bundled Sage Distress ink.
The aperture panel has also been sponged and stamped with Bundled Sage ink and then some faux stitching and brads have been added.
Let's hope that the weather picks up a bit tomorrow. The kids have only got a few days till they go back to school, and it would be such a shame if they had to be spent indoors.
Happy Birthday Adam, we miss you.

No Patterned Papers at CCM&More

Hello All
I'm sorry, I've done it again. Added my card to the CCM&More challenge and then not been able to get on the Internet since. Well not on my laptop anyway.
I threatened it yesterday evening, taking it to my computer friend to fix, and lo and behold it was working this morning!!
Joe you rock as the ultimate threat to all things computer in my world.
Anyway, here is the card that I made for the challenge which is hosted by our fabulous Boss Lin
The challenge that she set is No Patterned Papers in your creations.
I made this card for a friend to give to her daughter using one of my LOTV toppers.
I cut it out using circular nesties and then layered it over various die cuts.
I also added some tiny pearls and a chip board number.
Please stop by and see what the rest of the team have made, there are some stunning samples. In fact Lin's card has made me want to add a couple more dies to my collection, as if I need any.
Also we are holding a DT call, so if you fancy being part of a fabulously laid back team please just add DT to your entry name.
I had better go and do some commenting now before the Internet disappears on me again lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Texture, Texture, Texture at Woodware

Hello All
I'm helping out over on the Woodware blog again this week, and this time they are looking for Texture, Texture, Texture.
The card was made this Sunday (nothing like being last minute lol), where the weather in our neck of the woods felt more like Autumn than Summer, so perhaps that is where my inspiration came from.
I used one of the fabulous Doobadoo stencils for the background, along with some dye based inks....
clear embossing powder and gilding wax in gold and bronze.
The leaves have been created using the same coloured inks and two layers of UTEE. This was then  stamped into with the Stampendous leaf stamp while the UTEE was still hot and molten.
It doesn't affect the stamps but gives wonderful texture to the stamped image which I then carefully cut around.
The main card was made using a sheet of linen card. I rubbed the same inkpads around the edges of the card which helped pick up all the fabulous texture of the linen.
The bow has been created from some threads pulled from a Jute fabric square, layered over a couple of skeleton leaves and finished off with a wooden button.
Having sent the pictures to Dorothy I decided that perhaps the card looked better with a greeting.
What do you think?
Have a good day. Let's hope that by the time you read this the weather will have changed back to the glorious sunshine that we had on Saturday, even if it was a little bit too hot for me.
Never satisfied are we lol.
Bye for now.

Thinking of Your on your 100th Birthday

Evening All
Isn't it amazing the things that you can learn about people in a two minute conversation whilst they are paying for their fuel.
During one such moment at the beginning of the year I discovered that a special lady would be celebrating her 100th birthday today.
Unfortunately she didn't quite make it, but her family will be celebrating regardless with a visit to her graveside and then a glass raised in her honour at the local pub.
I wanted them to know that I hadn't forgotten her either, so I made this card.
The background is a piece of 'cleanup paper' after a Gelli Plate session.
I added some lovely stamped images, faux stitching and a little bit of bling.
Today is also my Nephews birthday so I will raise a glass (of squash) in his honour as well.
Night night All, sleep well

Mechanical Cards at Woodware

Hi All
This week the Girls at Woodware are looking at Mechanical Cards, and I am thrilled to have been asked to help them out.
I really wasn't sure what Dorothy expected so this is my take on the theme.
I have created the background to my card using a fabulous Gears stencil from Dreamweaver, some silver Gilding Wax and a stencil brush.
I love this shoe stamp from Stampendous.
I so wish that I were still able to wear a pair of shoes that looked this good.
What ever happened to the 4 inch heels that I used to wear all the time when the kids were small.
I have watercoloured the image with dye based ink and then added silver and gold Gelli Roll Glaze pen and some Glossy Accents on the clock face..
I created an extra couple of panels using the Gears stencil and my Cuttlebug and then brushed them with more silver Gilding Wax
I cut out some of the cogs using circular punches and added them to the card.
I hope that you like the card.
I wonder what the Team come up with for the rest of the week.
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Warm Summer Colours at CCM&More

Evening Everyone,
Well I have surprised myself and remembered to post my card for the new CCM&More challenge, even if it is a little late in the day, and I've nearly thrown the computer across the room trying to get it written.
Our theme this time is warm Summer colours and so I have chosen to share this card that I made for a friend of my Mum after she fell and broke her hip.
It uses one of my all time favourite stamps from Stampendous, Versamark ink  and Decorating chalks.
I matched the panel to some background papers from my stash.
I'm sorry that this is rather short and sweet, but it has taken me an hour and a half to get this much done, so I am going to quit while I am ahead.
Hope you enjoy the challenge, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have come up with.

Welcome to the World Miss Tickle

Hi All
Wow, where have the last couple of months gone to?
Thank you to all of my regular visitors who have expressed concern at my absence.
I have found it very hard to get motivated recently as my youngest daughter reached the final stages of her pregnancy. It has been beset with problems, all a bit of a worry, and as she is no longer just round the corner I have found it very hard to settle.
I am now pleased to say that my beautiful Granddaughter Emma Reygate Tickle arrived safely on Tuesday 28th July at 2.23pm, weighing a healthy 7lb 14oz, and that I was there to witness her arrival - well up the nice end at least lol.
I wouldn't have missed it for the world, and can now say that I have been at the birth of both my daughters first children, a very special gift, and moments that I will treasure forever.
Unfortunately all my best photos are on my new phone so I'm afraid these will have to do. I am sooooo glad that I finally dragged myself into the 21st century, even if I haven't quite got to grips with the technical bits lol.
They came to visit this weekend, so all my crafty plans went out of the window, but who cares when you get to cuddle such a cutie!!
The new challenge starts on the CCM&More blog tomorrow so I really must get my act together and find the time to actually post my card on my blog instead of leaving it in draft :O)
