Happy Birthday Rithika

Evening,

It's that time of year again where I have to make a card for Boss's youngest daughter. I do love the challenge of coming up with something different from last time, but still incorporating her name.

This year I actually had a request from Boss.........please make it bigger and add an 18th for her special birthday.
I have been playing with my 3D embossing folders and white ink in preparation for the class tomorrow, so I decided to use one of them in the background for a little bit of subtle sophistication.
I embossed the floral image on the left hand side of a blue square panel and gently wiped over it with a  white ink pad.
This highlights the detail of the folder in a very subtle manner.
I added some diecut and layered hearts along with her name, 18 and some pearls.
I ran the finished card past my eldest Granddaughter who said that as far as she was concerned it fitted the bill perfectly.....sophisticated but fun. Praise indeed from a 21 year old lol.
Boss seemed to like it so I hope that it was OK.
Better finish packing things up for class tomorrow before it gets too late.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Wedding Day

 Hi All,

I recently had another wedding card commission. This time for a young couple who love nature and the sea.

I used one of my large Tonic floral frame dies to create the focal point of the card, layered over a piece of background paper from my stash. By happy accident the wording on the paper also refers to the sea.
I cut the frame from pale blue and ivory card stock
and then slightly off set the images in the center of the card.
I used a tiny floral die to add some extra embellishments to the frame.
The center of the panel is a stamped and embossed frame designed by Jane Gill, to which I added some assorted pearls.
Of course any card is made more special with the addition of the recipients names.
As you know I never know quite what I'm going to end up with until I start to play, so as I had some left over bits and pieces to use up, I made another card for my stash.
Not quite as fancy,
and obviously not personalized, but I'm sure that it will find a home one day.
I've finally managed to get the last of my samples finished, for Jane's next release, so it's off to the Post Office for me tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Vintage Wedding

Evening All,

On occasion I get asked by friends to make a special card. This time it was for a Wedding that has finally taken place today, at least I hope that it has :O)

I do love this type of challenge, armed with only a couple of requirements for my task. In this case dusky pink and vintage.
Once again I reached for my large Tonic heart dies and some paper from a 12x12 pad from 'The Works'.
I'm not usually a fan of cheap. It's often the case of 'Buy cheap, pay twice', but in this instance I will make an exception.
Their 12x12 papers are brilliant. Good quality, heavy weight, and very cheap, so I always look out for them whenever I am in 'The Works'. Even if I don't really need them lol.
I used the paper for the smaller internal heart,
and hand made flowers.
I created my own background paper for the base card using several dotty heart dies.
Of course there were several pieces left over after I had finally settled on my finished card, so I made an Anniversary card,
or two!!
Thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate you.
Happy Crafting, and big hugs

Happy 21st Birthday Badu

 Afternoon All,

Today is a very special day. It is the 21st birthday of my eldest Granddaughter Megan, or Badu as the youngest Grandchildren affectionately call her.

I can't believe where all those years have gone to. She arrived on my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary so there has always been that extra special bond between us all.

Megan is not a flowery girl so making a card for her was a bit of a challenge.
She does like black and purple so I went for a piece of Cosmic background paper from my stash and worked forward from that.
The layered hearts are Tonic dies but I had to add the outer slightly floral die cut as the inner plain ones were just not quite big enough to hold all the other die cuts that I wanted to add.
I also added a fussy cut LOTV image. I do love them for cards.
Megan's arrival on the day of my Mum and Dad's anniversary didn't stop our attendance. So here she is at approximately 8 hours old. Four generations of us celebrating both her arrival and Mum and Dad's special day.
My Dad couldn't have been more chuffed to have met his first Grandchild.
My Mum had fallen a couple of days before the party, while cleaning the windows, so she looks rather battered and bruised. But she and I were also ecstatic about Megan's arrival and flying visit to the celebrations. She has been a bit of a party girl ever since.
It's a shame that we can't celebrate her 21st in the same manner, but given the current restrictions it is a definite no no. I can see that we are going to have to have a huge family get together when it is allowed, to celebrate all the milestones that have been unmarked during lockdown.
For the moment I will just settle for a hug, and the hope that she is having a fabulous day.
I will probably get told off for sharing these photos, but it's too late now lol.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Happy 21st

Evening,

Every year I make a card for my Boss to give his daughters on their birthdays. It's a good job that I have them in my planner, cause he has stopped reminding me that he would like me to make them lol.

This year it is a very special birthday,
so I knew that he would want it celebrated in style.
I used my Tonic heart dies and die cut numbers along with a piece of Clarity background paper.
The sentiments stamped along the side of the paper are from a Sheena stamp set.
Boss always likes the girls name on their cards as they are impossible for him to get under normal circumstances.
Finishing this is as much as I can manage today. I'm so glad that tomorrow is Friday, I really have to get another special card finished and write Christmas cards, and at the moment the only thing that I fancy doing is sleep.
Night, night.

On Your Wedding Day

 Evening,

A rather late finish for me, but at least I have managed to finish all my DT work and a commission for a friend as well, so all in all a very successful weekend.

I can't share the DT work, but here is the card that I made for my friend.
I used a Tonic die and some pale gold glitter card for the heart.
The die cut letters are also from a Tonic die set.
I added a die cut frame over a piece of paper from my stash.
The floral element is from a Crafters Companion decoupage pad which also has matching dies.
It makes a rather bold statement piece on a card, but it did mean that I had to make a box for it to go in.
I need to get to bed now, early start tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by,
Stay safe and hugs

A Paper Anniversary

 Evening

I hope that you have had a great weekend. I feel like my crafty mojo has finally returned, hopefully for longer than a couple of days.

A friend asked me to make a 1st Anniversary card for her daughter.
As the 1st Wedding Anniversary is 'Paper'
I picked some paper with book print on it
for the background
and also the handmade flowers.
I used a Paper Rose die for the square floral panel
and Tonic alphabet dies for their names.
I coloured the tiny heart buttons with my alcohol markers,
and added some stamen, Sizzix foliage and glitter card.
I really enjoyed making it which is the first time in a while that I can say that.
Thanks for stopping by.
