Happy Birthday Boys

Evening Everyone,
We have a Birthday Boy in the house today, my Sin-in-Law Jason.
I have already blogged the card I gave him, so here is the card that I made for my Nephew who celebrated his birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I used the fabulous Stampendous Poem Tree as the main focus of the card and then embossed the panel using a leafy embossing folder.
I sponged around the edge of the panel to highlight the embossing and also to add a little extra colour.
A few matching Card Candi and a sentiment and one finished card just right for a man.
Bye for now,

Welcome to your New Home

Evening Everyone.
Did you manage to watch Barbara on the box at the weekend?
I'm afraid that I didn't manage to get very much made in the way of samples for her this time, but at least this one got to be centre stage.
It uses the fabulous Tree House, which just screamed New Home Card.
I used the mask that came with it as well as the new Alphabet set and some torn paper masking.
The little bird was the 'extra' stamp that came with my lovely new Personalised Signature stamp so that I can sign my work, something that I have always tried to do.
Bye for now.

Belated Birthday Greetings

Oh my goodness, where has today gone. In fact the whole week seems to be disappearing fast.
I'm afraid that tonight's post will have to be a very quick one, so here is a card that went in the post today.
It seems that most of my cards have been very late into the post box just recently.
This one was made by inking this lovely Penny Black floral stamp with a Kaleidacolour Inkpad and then spritzing it with water before stamping it onto white card.
It gives it a fabulous Watercolour effect which I combined with some nice bright card stock from my stash.
I also added some Faux Stitching to the panels and a Woodware sentiment.
Bye for now.

Wings at Crafty Cardmakers and More

Evening Everyone,
We have started a new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers today.

Mary is our host and wants to see something with Wings.. birds, planes, fairies, insects or even a steampunk clock, as long as it includes Wings
For my card I chose a lovely old Stampendous stamp set which is just full of butterflies.
All the stamping and embossing has been done in white and then sponged with Distress Inks.
I added some tiny gems, clear Wink of Stella and gold gilding wax to the raised panel on the card.
The panel down the side of the card has been created with the individual stamps from the set, a torn paper mask and the same colour Distress Inks.
I did add a little extra colour to the butterfly wings using a waterbrush.

I would like to enter this in to the following challenges
CraftyCatz Weekly challenge - Anything Goes
House of Cards - Add a Butterfly and/or Colour challenge
Fairytale Stampers - Things with Wings

Don't forget to stop by and show the rest of the team some love.
Bye for now

A Clarity Tree House

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have all had a very enjoyable Easter Sunday.
Plenty of chocolate and a nice roast dinner, sounds good to me.
I hope that you also managed to fit in a little bit of  crafty TV and that you got to watch Barbara on the box this morning and then again in the afternoon.
I made this card for the show with the amazing new Tree house stamp.
I put a sneak peek of this on Facebook last night just to wet your appetite.
I coloured the image using Watercolour Pearlex having first stamped and embossed it onto a piece of handmade background paper.
I added a few hills with a torn paper mask to create a bit of a scene.
I think that this is the perfect stamp for a new home card. In fact another of my cards on the show was just that.
Unfortunately it will be work as normal for me tomorrow, so I had better get to bed.
Bye for now

Lots of lovely cake.

Evening Everyone,
Well we had a fabulous class today, but I think that we must have all put on a few pounds since everyone brought cake. Simnel cake, hot cross buns, cream sponge and homemade Victoria sandwich.
The Grandchildren are very pleased because I had to bring some of it home.
We revisited some stamps that I used to make cards some time ago for a Woodware catalogue.
We used Brilliance inkpads and the 'Wet Watercolour Technique'.
Having tapped the ink onto my craft sheet there was just too much to waste so I ended up with some lovely bits of background paper as well.
I will have to finish these cards off at a later date because at the moment I still have some samples to finish off for Barbara.
By the way don't forget to tune into Create and Craft tomorrow at 9am to catch her latest TV appearance.
Off to bed now, I wonder how many calories I can burn off in my sleep? Not enough that's for sure lol.
Bye for now.

A more 'Girly' Birthday

Evening Everyone,
Have you all had a very good Good Friday?
I can't believe how many Easter Eggs we sold at work today, and they were not cheap ones either being mostly M&S as per the adverts on TV lol.
I managed to find a slightly more 'Girly' birthday card to share tonight.
This was made for the daughter of one of the 'Boys' at work on her 21st birthday.
As usual I reached for a LOTV topper and matched it to some papers from my stash.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend with lots of chocolate. Well it is Easter after all.
Bye for now.

Happy Birthday Gill..... you are how old?

Evening Everyone.
Another manically busy day at work, although at least I wasn't stuck in the Wild Bean Cafe today.
Today is my good friend Gill's birthday, and so here is a card for her, although it is not the one waiting for her when she returns from her special birthday trip to New Zealand. Well you only have this special birthday once in your life don't you lol.
I know I should have found a more 'Girly 'card to share tonight, but to be honest I'm struggling to stay awake having been to visit my Mum.
No walking today as my lovely daughter took me, just a roast pork dinner and ice cream.
See I'm celebrating for you Gill :O)
I hope that you have had a fabulous day, and I look forward to sharing in all of your tales and pictures on your return.
Bye for now.

Awesome Agapanthus

Hi All
I'm absolutely shattered, and I must have washed my hands several hundred times over the course of the day.
Our Cafe Lass arrived with her finger heavily bandaged this morning, so it made far more sense for her to work on the main till and me to make the coffee etc since she wasn't allowed to get her bandage wet!!!!
I suppose at least it meant that I wasn't stuck in the same place all day, and it looks like I am in for a repeat performance on Friday.
This card was made for my friend Jenny who celebrated her birthday last week.
The panel across the card was created using acetate, alcohol inks and a lovely Agapanthus stamp.
I have 'lifted' some of the Alcohol ink using an Archival ink pad and some kitchen paper.
I do love this technique.
Off to bed, back tomorrow.

It's a Girl

Evening Everyone,
I really am having a rubbish week. My cold has kicked in big time, and all I feel like doing is sleep, not craft.
The one major highlight of my day however were the lastest scan pictures of my new Granddaughter.
I look forward with eager anticipation to meeting her at the beginning of August.
In the mean time I will take myself to bed and catch up on a couple of episodes of Poldark.

A Blue Fairy

Hi All
Have you had a good Monday?
Another quick card for a small person who comes into the garage.
A lovely LOTV topper, some glitter and a fabulous background stamp from Lavina Stamps.
Easy peasy lemon sqeezie as the kids would say lol.
Bye for now.

Pearlex Christmas Cards

Evening Everyone
Well it seems that Spring has definitely taken a back seat here in Surrey, in favour of the Monsoon.
I took numerous samples along to my Pearlex class yesterday including these Christmas cards made using some lovely Imagination Decoupage stamps.
The panel on each card has been made by stamping and embossing the image in either black or white and then painted using the 'Wet Watercolour Technique'.
The background card  on most of them has also been stamped with Versamark ink and brushed with dry powdered Pearlex.
Pearlex is always a favourite when I am making Christmas cards.
I have however failed miserably this year in my efforts to make some Christmas cards each month.  I think that I have only managed a total of five so far over three months, how rubbish is that?
I added some ribbon and a few pearls to this card.
And this one makes use of some background papers from my stash.
I wonder what the weather will bring tomorrow. No snow I hope although they do suggest that we could be in line for some over Easter!!
I would like to enter these in to the Anything Goes challenge over at Weekly Christmas Card Challenges.
Unfortunately I seem to have succumb to the cold bug that has been bouncing around everyone, both at home and at work. Just what I need. My bed is calling more than my craft table at the moment.
Bye for now.

Click your Heels Dorothy

Evening Everyone.
Another fabulous class at Davina's today, very quite though, they were all colouring in.
I took along an assortment of stamps including this fabulous shoe from Stampendous. How I wish I could still wear something like this, it is awesome.
I spent many years walking everywhere in 4inch heels. Backwards and forwards to the school three or four times a day with the children, most of the time pushing either a double buggy or a wheelchair. And now I can't even manage court shoes for more than an hour. The joys of getting older lol.
I coloured the image with a combination of Watercolour Pearlex and some red ink. I also added some glossy accents which I was too impatient to let dry before I took these pictures :O)
I sorted through my stash of bits to find some things that would go with the 'Steampunk' feel of the card and these were the best I could do.
The background has been made using a Dreamweaver Stencil, Gold Brilliance ink and some Gold Embossing Powder.
I also sponged the panel with Distress inks and then spritzed over it with a couple of Glimmer Mists. I covered the whole panel with scrunched up cling film and left it to dry which gave added texture to the background.
It is a shame that I didn't get to finish this earlier in the week as it would have been an ideal advertisement for the fabulous Making Texture Collaboration blog hop that has been going on between Stampendous/Woodware/Dreamweaver.
So many fabulous ideas using items produced by three fabulous companies.
Don't forget to change your clocks.
One hour less sleep tonight, now that is definitely something I could do without.
Still I suppose it shows that Spring is finally with us.
Get a good nights sleep. See you again tomorrow.

Birthday Bear

Hi All
While I was away on holiday one of my younger customers celebrated her 5th birthday.
I finally managed to catch up with her today and give her the card that I made for her.
I used one of my fab LOTV toppers and some hand made Gelli Plate background.
I added some Stardust glitter and Glossy Accents to the image, and cut it out using a Nestie.
I'm teaching tomorrow so that will be fun. Pearlex an old favourite product that never ceases to create amazing results.
Bye for now

Gelli Plate and Glimmer Mists

Evening Everyone,
What a day to go back to work. It was absolutely chucking it down this morning when I left.
I have to say that I am very glad to have been working inside, not a good day to be outside. And it would have been even better to have been able to stay in bed. Never mind.
Among my new acquisitions last week was a Large Round Gelli Plate.
Fabulous for making backgrounds to be used with my large Circular Nesties.
This particular piece of background was made using the Gelli Plate, some Glimmer Mists (another new purchase) and some Woodware stamps.
I spritzed the Glimmer Mists directly onto the Gelli Plate and then 'smooshed' a piece of cream card onto it.
Unfortunately it is not easy to capture all the beautiful shimmer that you get.
I have lots more pieces of background to use up so I can see lots more Circular cards coming up lol.
Bye for now.

Waxed Paper Resist

Hi All
Well they do say that all good things must come to an end so I suppose that it stands to reason that it would apply to holidays as well.
I have managed to get a couple of things finished today, although not as much as I would have liked, and I just know that tomorrow I am going to be absolutely shattered. Thank goodness it will be a VERY short week.
Here are a couple more cards that I sent out last week. They have both been made using the 'Waxed Paper Resist' technique.
The narrow panel on this card has been created using waxed paper, an embossing folder, glossy card stock, iron and dye based ink.
I added some stamped and embossed images to the kraft card background, and a sentiment stamped onto acetate and attached with brads.
This card also uses a piece of background created using the items listed above.
This time I have stamped and embossed directly onto the panel before mounting it onto a card base.
Oh dear, look at the time, so much for an early night. Better go.
Bye for now.
