Cards for Boys and New Home

Evening,

Another weekend has bitten the dust, but at least it has been relatively dry and sunny here for a change.

I've got a couple of cards for 'Littlies' to send this week, and when that happens I usually break out my trusty LOTV Simply Prints, or my Polkadoodle digi images. I love the pre-coloured images which mean I can make a card quite quickly.

I thought that these Polkadoodles caveman images were perfect for cards for little boys.
I used some of the background papers from Polkadoodles as well.
I found these LOTV images printed out in my box, so I thought that I would make a couple of New Home cards while I was at it.
You never know when you might need a card like this, so it pays to be prepared lol.
I'm going out for a coffee tomorrow with couple of customers that used to come into the garage. They were affectionately known as the 'Sheep Ladies' since they look after several flocks of sheep.
My youngest Grandchildren were lucky enough to visit them in the spring. during lambing season, where they helped feed a set of triplets that mum couldn't cope with.
They were absolutely thrilled by the experience, especially when they were allowed to name them. I don't think I will get to see the sheep, but a chance to get out for a coffee sounds wonderful.
Thanks for stopping by.

The End of an Era

Afternoon,

Another miserable Monday, they really are coming round far too quickly.

We have seen the end of an era in my house. My eldest Granddaughter has moved out and in to a flat with her boyfriend. It doesn't seem that long ago since we brought her home from the hospital. I can see her Dad barricading the door and not letting her leave when she next comes for a visit.

Of course I had to make her a card, so I reached for my LOTV Simply Print images and while I was at it I made a couple of other cards.
I do love these images for a new home card, in fact you can usually find some thing to suit any occasion.
I added some die cut daisies to compliment those on the kettle, and their initials on the tag.
I used another cute image for this second card. This time the couple are buying their own house so I thought this image appropriate with the 'sold' sign.
Once again I added some daisies.
My third card is made for a friend who has finally moved into her new flat with her little dog.
I thought the dog kennel rather appropriate and I think that she will see the funny side of it having moved from a large house into a tiny flat.
Thanks for stopping by on this wet and miserable afternoon.
Stay safe and a crafty hug

Home Sweet Home

Afternoon All,
So we are finally on lock down here in the UK. I did wonder how long it would take given all the idiots that there seem to be around who think that this terrible situation won't touch them.
There are times when I am rather ashamed to be English. While on the other hand we are surrounded by amazing people who are risking everything to keep the rest of us safe.
Anyway, rant over, I have finally managed to finish a card even though my mojo has gone walkabout lately.
Thankfully, my cousin and his wife moved into their new house a couple of weeks ago so I expect by now they are surrounded by lots of empty boxes not full ones.
Once again I reached for my lovely LOTV Simply Print images. This one is called A New Adventure. I bought mine a while ago when it was available as a pre-coloured image, but it is still available as a digi image that you can colour in yourself.
I printed it out two images to a page and then decoupaged one of them to give some depth.
The sentiment dies were designed by my lovely friend Paula Pascual under the Bright Rosa brand name. They are quite large dies that can be cut into or out of your card stock.
BTW if you like the LOTV images they are on a 50% off deal until the end of March, and that includes the new Easter designs.
My turn to cook the dinner, so I had better get a wiggle on.
Stay safe. Happy Crafting and Hugs

LOTV to the rescue again

Evening Everyone,
Well it looks like my second post from yesterday went live so let's see if I'm pushing my luck by trying another post :O)
I did finally manage to get a little bit of crafting done on Sunday, due to a couple of very last minute requests from my daughters.
 First a New Home card.
Once again I opted for the fabulous LOTV Simply Print digi images.
They are an absolute god send when you need to make last minute cute cards.
Chloe has her last swimming lesson on Sunday so Becki needed a Thank You card.
Unlike Emma she is really not enjoying the structure of the sessions very much, so I decided that this fabulous image was much more Chloe's style of water play.
Not that I am suggesting that she is a drinker you understand, although she does get through an awful lot of juice over the course of a day.
Next a couple of  Baby Congratulation cards.
I love all of the really cute images that you can find at the LOTV Etsy shop.
Finally I used this little cutie with a fabulous Groovi background that I found in my stash.
All in all a very successful day. I told you they made it easy to create cards in a hurry.
Have a great evening.
Happy stamping and hugs

For a Special Someone

Evening Everyone,
Another commission for a friend. Hopefully it will brighten up a miserable and wet day.
He does like an Easel card, because they stand out so well.
I do so love the LOTV digi images, all coloured in for me, so they are quick and easy to use, and oh soooo cute.
As you know I am on a mission to use up bits and pieces,
so as I had printed the images out two to a page,
and two different designs so that I could choose which one to use, I ended up with four cards in total.
I also need a card for an old friend who is moving away to start a new chapter in his life.

I always find making cards for men a challenge, so when my Granddaughters boyfriend announced recently that he was going back to collage in September I knew exactly which image to use for his birthday card.
In fact I made several more cards yesterday during my play session.
Including this little cutie for a first birthday.
At least it seems to have stopped raining here, although I'm not sure for how long. It looked like we were in for such a nice sunny day this morning as well.
Have a great evening.
Happy Crafting and Hugs

A New Home with LOTV

Hello Everyone,.
Did you miss me?
Here we go again I hear you say. I keep apologising for my absence, hope to do better and then disappear for weeks at a time. I sound like a broken record!!
Seriously though, where is this year going? It doesn't seem five minutes ago that it was New Years day and now we are already days past the longest day of the year, hurtling towards Christmas once again.
While we are on that subject, one of the numerous reasons behind my absence from Blogland has been the making of said Christmas cards.
I am a very lucky lady because I get to make samples for Creative Expressions using some of the  latest stamp designs from Jane Gill.
There was a particularly tight turn round this time, so coupled with two TV shows to prep samples for, helping my daughter move into her new house, holding down a full time job and trying to get to the gym you will perhaps understand why something had to give.

I have always loved LOTV, I have a rather large collection of them, and was extremely saddened to hear them announce that they would no longer be manufacturing their rubber stamps.
Although I have never been a fan of digi images, they involve technology which you know I am not good with, I have recently purchased some pre-coloured digi images to add to my stash just because they were so darned cute, and I'm a sucker for a bargain.

They definitely came into there own this weekend when a friend came to me on Friday and asked if there was any chance that I could make them a New Home card over the next couple of days.
Now you know that I love stamping and embossing, but nothing beats a fabulous image coloured in by an expert when time is of the essence.
I used several dies and an embossing folder to mirror elements from the image, which makes it perfect for the new challenge that started today over at CCM where we are asking for your creations using two or more punches or dies.
I had great fun making the card, so much so that I decided to make a couple more for my stash.
As I said Becki moved a few weeks ago and so one of these is destined for her mantelpiece.
I hope that I will be forgiven for how late this is given that I have been helping out with the little ones as well.
I noticed that LOTV were actually on Hochanda today with a collection of rubber stamps, so perhaps I wasn't the only one to be upset by them stopping production of rubber stamps.
I hope that you have a good evening. I have failed miserably with the gym just lately as it has been too hot, although I have tried to go out for a walk later in the evening when it has cooled down a bit.
Happy Crafting and hugs,
Kimx

New Beginnings at CraftyCardmakers.

Evening Everyone,
We have a new challenge starting today over at CCM, and some wonderful new Teamies as well.
As it is the first challenge of 2017, we have an appropriately themed 'New Beginnings', so we would like to see your creations related to the arrival of a new baby, a new relationship, marriage, engagement, maybe even a New Years resolution.......anything new.
I decided to go with New Home.
I have two old friends who have recently moved after many years in their family homes, so this was the perfect challenge for me.
I have used a lovely Magnolia stamped scene Y0056 Welcome to a Lovely Home stamped and embossed onto watercolour card, and then coloured using Distress Inks.
The background has been created using an embossing folder that looks like a plank of wood.........very appropriate.
I added some Wink of Stella to the sky although it doesn't show up very well.
The sentiment is from a very useful Hobby Art CS016D Greetings stamp set.
I made two cards the same apart from the colouring on the panel.
I hope that you will join in with us over the next fortnight with your 'New Beginnings', and don't forget to stop by and show the new team some love.
Thanks for visiting.
Hugs Kimx

Welcome to Your New Home

Morning Everyone
Ive got a New Home card to share with you today.

The slightly spooky houses are a fabulous die cut from black card.
The background layer was created using a Clarity stencil,
die based inks and my Grand Caliber Embossing machine.
I placed some coloured paper behind the windows and then added Glossy Accents.
The greeting is from a rather old, but well loved Hobby Art stamp set.
I think this has a rather autumnal/wintery feel which goes rather well with the weather that we are having of late.
Have a great day.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Only Hearts can build a Home

Evening Everyone.
Another fabulous class today, it is so nice to play with 'crafty friends'.
We enjoyed plenty of coffee and a slab of Christmas cake that I had saved especially for today, and of course we managed to get a few cards made between us.
I even managed a couple of Christmas cards, as did Sylvie despite her initial reluctance to use any Christmas embossing folders lol.
Then after class it was off to Mum's for a family post Christmas get together.
It is always nice to see everyone, although getting there a little late after class, I did miss the first meeting of my youngest Granddaughter and my Great Niece. Apparently they got quite excited to see one another. Myla is a couple of months older than Emma and this was their first encounter so it was a rather special meeting. I have photos of their Mums getting together at a similar age so we will have to compare them.
I managed to take some old photo albums along to the get together which I came across at Christmas. They certainly put a smile on every ones faces when we looked back at pictures of us all over 20 years ago!!
In fact it is hard to believe that I have just sent this card to the 'baby' being held in one of the photos after he bought his first house.
Where have all of those years flown to?

Shaped cards at Crafty Cardmakers and More

Hi All
Long time no see :O)
There is a fab new challenge starting over at Crafty Cardmakers and More today, one which I should have been hosting.
The last few weeks have not gone to plan, so 'The Boss' aka Lin has very kindly stepped into the beach for me.
I did feel that it was only fair to blog something in support of the girls even if I am cheating a little by using a card that I made a while ago and not a new creation.
Our challenge this time is SHAPED CARDS, so plain squares or rectangles are not allowed, but any other shape is fine.
This card was made for my Godparents when they moved from their family home last year.
My card was made using a lovely LOTV topper cut using a circular nestie.
I created some patchwork background using paper scraps from my stash and a hexagonal punch. This panel was then also die cut using a Circular Grand Nestie.
I added some diecut pieces from my bits box along with a sentiment and some glossy accents.
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT have come up with to inspire you, and please forgive me if I haven't stopped by to visit recently, life has been a little fraught of late and the computer has been at the bottom of a very long Must Do list.
Happy Crafting and hugs
