Creative Expressions 30 Day Craft Challenge - Day 3 Geometric

Afternoon Everyone,
It's Day 3 of the Creative Expressions 30 Craft Challenge, and today is Geometric.
Now I have to say that I rather struggled to find something for this challenge (I'm trying to share some of the cards that I already have made since I have hundreds of them!!) until I saw a card from Natalie Stringer, one of the other lovely people that has entered into the fun.
And isn't that exactly what this challenge is all about, being inspired by others, and having a bit of fun.
I have used a lovely Sue Wilson Die CED5524 - Noble Collection Lavish Accented Octagon
I used DSSSheet, glitter, a bit of Paper Piecing, and of course a lovely stamp designed by Jane Gill.
I did manage to find a few other cards with a geometric theme, but they don't really use much in the way of Creative Expressions products, so I didn't think they would count.
I will share them though because they are a nice easy way to use up some of those scrap pieces that we all seem to hoard.
I have loads of scraps of background cardstock which were just perfect for these last couple of cards.
I would love to be able to do Clean and Simple cards, but I just had to add some stamping in the background.
I hope that I can find something to use for tomorrows challenge, but I think I might need to see what other people post before I can find something that will fit.
Stay Safe and Craft.

CCM Bling's the Thing

Hi All,
Here we are at the start of our first challenge of the New Year at CCM and we are looking for plenty of Bling.
Now I know that Christmas is a dim and distant memory, but it is also the perfect time for a bit of bling.
I didn't send very many Christmas cards this year as you know, but I could hardly miss my littlest Granddaughter's First Christmas now could I, or her big sister Emma.
For Emma's card I die cut one of Sue Wilson's hexagonal dies in red, and added it to a piece of Sticker paper.
I added fine crystal glitter to the background for plenty of bling.
The coloured image is from LOTV and has also been die cut.
I added Sparkle pen to the bears fur
as well as glitter glue and glossy accents to the penguin and snow.
This is Chloe's card and has also used a LOTV pre-coloured image die cut and layered on to red card.
The background was created using a Woodware Baby's First Christmas stamp.
I also added sparkle pen, glossy accents, glitter glue and some hand drawn lines.
I hope that you will find the time to join in with our new challenge, and please stop by HERE and see what the rest of the DT have come up with to inspire you.
Happy Crafting and Hugs

A Labour of Love

Evening Everyone,
One of the techniques that we have played with over the last few months at Davina's is Zentangle.
Now I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to doodling, I tend to stick with safe and simple straight lines. I have loads of books on the subject for inspiration, but I am not very imaginative without their help.
This card was finished after one such class.
The flowers and leaves are individual stamps from an old Penny Black set Petal Party.
Of course it is a nice easy one to use for Zentangle as there are lines there all ready for you to fill in with your doodles.
Once I had finished doodling in all of my leaves and flowers I fussy cut, shaped and layered them onto my card.
The centres of the flowers have been covered with Glossy Accents.
The diamond background panel to the card has been die cut and layered onto a DSS Sheet. I added fine glitter but it didn't stick very well so I added a sheet of acetate over the top to stop it from shedding which is of course impossible to photograph properly.
I added some Card Candi to the corner which I also coated with Glossy Accents.
I think that it is about time that I entered a challenge or two so I would like to enter
Crafty Friends Challenge - Blossoms. Use flowers on your creation.

This is a rather less elaborate card using a beautiful Hobby Art Ivy stamp.
I drew the square border around the stamped image using a square stencil that I die cut from a sheet of acetate. I also added some glitz with a Starlight pen.
I would like to enter this into the challenge at
Sparkles Christmas Challenge - Holly and Ivy. I hope my card counts with just Ivy on it.
A little more stamping on this one and a black and white border.
I really must try and be a little more adventurous, although I am more than happy with the finished result, as was my Granddaughter who chose the floral card to give to her best friend for her birthday today.
Happy Birthday Flick, hope you had a great day.

Paper Pieced Christmas at Woodware

Hi All
It is my turn to play at Woodware again today, but I'm afraid that I am very late to the party.
I confess that I must have fallen asleep as I was writing the post and forget to schedule it, which on reflection is probably no bad thing given it's half finished nature lol.
Dorothy has chosen 'Paper Pieced Christmas ' for us this week.
I love Francoise Huge Word stamps which lend themselves perfectly to this type of technique.
I made a circular easel card for my project using papers from a Craftwork Cards paper pad and a sheet of green Magenta paper.
I added a few snowflakes to the image before I attached any of the fussy cut letters so that they look as if they are behind the writing.
Stamp and emboss the Jingle Bells onto three different pieces of background paper and again on to a large white circle of card.
Fussy cut all the letters from the sheets of background paper and lay them onto the image on the white card before sticking them in place using wet glue.
The base of the easel card has been embellished with flowers punched from the scraps of paper
and branches cut from the Dreamweaver die cut Naked Tree. This was cut from some home made glitter paper
I searched high and low for some bells to add to the card (Davina came to my rescue with a couple that she found in her stash, added with the ribbon bow) and then I remembered that the stamp set actually contained its very own bell stamp.
One of the things I love about Paper Piecing is that with a bit of thought during the cutting process you can actually end up with several finished panels which are then very easy to turn into cards.
So watch this space, as they say, cause you know I'm on a mission to use up all the left overs lol.
I hope that Dorothy will forgive me for the lateness of this post, and that you enjoy a bit of Paper Piecing inspiration from the Team this week.
Better get this posted before I fall asleep again. I've been to the gym this afternoon and I'm starting to feel sleepy.
Night night.

A Blue Fairy

Hi All
Have you had a good Monday?
Another quick card for a small person who comes into the garage.
A lovely LOTV topper, some glitter and a fabulous background stamp from Lavina Stamps.
Easy peasy lemon sqeezie as the kids would say lol.

A Little Christmas Robin

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you are having a wonderful Wednesday.
You can tell that the schools have returned after the holidays as the road outside the garage was chockablock at school opening and afternoon pick up time.
It will definitely take a few days for things to get back to normal here I think. At the moment they are still in holiday mode so trying to get them to do their reading was a bit like pulling teeth lol.
This card was made for the lovely Jenny at HobbyArt who will be on the TV tomorrow afternoon - Create and Craft, Sky channel 671 at 2pm and 7pm.
I have used Distress Inks and Frantage Embossing powder as well as background papers from my stash.
The little robin has been paper pieced and then I have added some Fluffy Stuff and Glitter to the hat.
Why not check out the show tomorrow and see what other new stamp sets Jenny is showcasing.

A Christmas Bear

Evening Everyone
What is it with technology and me? Seriously, it hates me, so I think I will just post my card and head out quick before it closes down on me again lol.
It's still quite chilly here, so another Christmas card is the order of the day I think.
I found the red and green embossed panel at the back of the card in the bottom of my Christmas bits box. It really is amazing what you find when you start rummaging, and how many years old??
The cute little bear is an old Lili of the Valley die cut.
They have more fabulous new stamps launching at midnight on the 12th of this month so I will just have to pop along and check them all out, wont I!!!!
I added a bit of glitter and glossy accents, well it is a Christmas card after all.
I had better quit while I'm ahead I think and try a more detailed post tomorrow.
Hugs to All

Bright and Beautiful for Lavinia

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a good Monday. It has been a little colder than it appeared I have to say, but still quite bright which is why it was so deceptive.
I have a rather special card to share with you tonight.
It has been made for an equally special young lady who will be 13 on Wednesday.
However as it was also made for the Lavinia challenge which will have finished by then, I decided that I will share it with you tonight and hope that she doesn't check out the blog before Wednesday.
The challenge at Lavinia has been Bright and Beautiful, so I hope that this will fit the bill, you practically need sun glasses to look at it :O)
I have used several of my Lavinia stamps, Distress Inks, Glimmer Mists and Nesties, along with an assortment of flowers from my stash.
I also added some tiny white dots to the central panel, along with tiny black dots around the edge of the panel and some gems on the wording.
And of course there is some Glossy Accents and Glitter.
Well you can't have Fairy Toadstools without a bit of glitter can you lol.
I decided that at 13 Megan might appreciate something other than the cute Lili of the Valley images that I usually reach for.
I would also like to enter this into Alphabet Challenge where F is for Fantasy, and Forever Friends use Lots of Flowers.
Off to bed now.
Night, night.

A Christmas Cutie

Evening Everyone
Another weekend in sight and no signs of anything resembling summer in my neck of the woods at least. It is amazing how many people sporting winter coats and jumpers that have come in to the garage today!!
So I suppose that it makes perfect sense to share another of the Christmas cards that I have made, far more weather appropriate lol.
This was made using one of the wonderful Lili of the Valley die cut images cut out with a nestie.
I kept it simple with a punched border using one of the Woodware Crafty Edger punches. I added a little bit of glitter to the snowflakes and glossy accents to the peel-off dots.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Teddy
Crimbo Crackers - Anything Goes
Forever Friends - Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by, let's hope that the weather is better tomorrow other wise I will be shouting above the sound of rain on the roof of Davina's conservatory lol.

A Fairy from Hobby Art

Evening Everyone.
We have had lots of thunder rumbling around us here in Surrey today, although it hasn't come to anything, and it is still very hot. Never satisfied are we lol.
My card tonight was made for Jenny at Hobby Art, for her last TV appearance on Monday.
Unfortunately I didn't see it on the show, or maybe I just missed it amongst all the other wonderful samples.
I have used one of the lovely new fairy sets that Hobby Art have come up with this time. This one is from the set called Fairy Girls and is definitely the less grown up of the Fairy sets.
I have stamped and embossed her onto watercolour card and then painted her with my distress inks.
The background to the card has been made using one of the background stamps from the same set and some white embossing powder.
I added some fairy dust to the wings and some gems to the corners of the nestied panel.
What is a fairy without a bit of bling I ask myself?
Don't forget to join in the challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers this time as Hobby Art are one of our generous sponsors. Why not check it out HERE.
Must get to bed now. I have work tomorrow and then a road trip to drop some samples off to Barbara for this weekends show. And then I still have to make my card for the next challenge at The Stampman which goes live on Friday.
So much to do and so little time!!
Night night
