Babies are such a nice way to start people.

Hi All
I had a wonderful weekend with my littlest Granddaughter, and her Mum and Dad of course, so I thought that it was about time I got around to sharing the card that I made for them to celebrate her birth at the end of July.
I can't believe where the weeks have flown to. Emma is now 7 weeks old!!!!!!
The background to my card has been made using one of my all time favourite bits of crafty equipment. The Magic Stamp available from Woodware is a fabulous remouldable block which has been heated and then pressed against Emma's hand and foot to create a custom stamp.
I have one of these for each of the Grandchildren, made when they were only a few days old. Megan's is now 15 years old, so they last a lifetime.
I have used it to stamp all over the background card using pink dye based ink. I then ran the panel through my E-bosser inside a dotty embossing folder.
The main image is from LOTV, and for once I actually coloured it in myself rather than using a topper.
I die cut some letters and the date and then added some other tiny sentiments.
'Babies are such a nice way to start people' is from a LOTV clear stamp set which I added to a die cut tag.
I also added some tiny metal embellishments and a button.
I was thrilled to see that this now takes pride of place on the mantelpiece inside a nice frame.
Emma isn't really a hatty sort of a baby, although we did play dress up while I was up there at the weekend, trying on some of her many outfits to see which ones would fit her. I will have to get Becki to send me a couple of pictures so that I can share them with you as there were one or two hats amongst them if I recall correctly.
Better get to bed now as it is back to work tomorrow.
Bye for now, and thanks for stopping by.

For a Man/Boy at CCM&More

Evening Everyone,
Are you impressed to see me? I'm back with my card for the new challenge over at CCM&More, and on the right day no less lol.

Vania is hosting today and with Father’s Day fast approaching she wants to see your creations for the men/boys in your life. So anything that is suitable for a man or boy will be fine.
This card was actually made a little while ago for a friend to give her Son.
She provided me with photographs of his car
and a copy of the Mini logo,
and left everything else up to me.
She wanted the card to have his name on it.
And it was a big birthday so that needed to be there too.
I used several embossing folders, sticky embossing powder, silver pearlex powder, brads and charms.
I even created some tyre prints courtesy of some Lego wheels borrowed from my Grandson.
She was so thrilled with the card that she has asked me to make another one later on in the year, all I need is a new set of photos.
Hope you have time to join us.
Thanks for stopping by.

Click your Heels Dorothy

Evening Everyone.
Another fabulous class at Davina's today, very quite though, they were all colouring in.
I took along an assortment of stamps including this fabulous shoe from Stampendous. How I wish I could still wear something like this, it is awesome.
I spent many years walking everywhere in 4inch heels. Backwards and forwards to the school three or four times a day with the children, most of the time pushing either a double buggy or a wheelchair. And now I can't even manage court shoes for more than an hour. The joys of getting older lol.
I coloured the image with a combination of Watercolour Pearlex and some red ink. I also added some glossy accents which I was too impatient to let dry before I took these pictures :O)
I sorted through my stash of bits to find some things that would go with the 'Steampunk' feel of the card and these were the best I could do.
The background has been made using a Dreamweaver Stencil, Gold Brilliance ink and some Gold Embossing Powder.
I also sponged the panel with Distress inks and then spritzed over it with a couple of Glimmer Mists. I covered the whole panel with scrunched up cling film and left it to dry which gave added texture to the background.
It is a shame that I didn't get to finish this earlier in the week as it would have been an ideal advertisement for the fabulous Making Texture Collaboration blog hop that has been going on between Stampendous/Woodware/Dreamweaver.
So many fabulous ideas using items produced by three fabulous companies.
Don't forget to change your clocks.
One hour less sleep tonight, now that is definitely something I could do without.
Still I suppose it shows that Spring is finally with us.
Get a good nights sleep. See you again tomorrow.
