All Good Things Must Come to an End

 Evening All,

They say all good things must come to an end, and this week saw the end of the CraftyCardmakers blog that I have been involved in since October 2011. Nine years of creativity and meeting new crafty friends.

I think sometimes that we all need a crafty nudge, and it has definitely been helpful on occasions to have a suggested project to work towards.

With that in mind I thought that I would share a card that I would have used for the challenge that would have gone live this week, 'Add a Critter'
Mine is a rather substantial critter it has to be said, from an old Penny Black calendar that came free with a crafting magazine many years ago...................I told you I never seem able to throw anything away. And why would I with such cute characters as this in it.
I added glossy accents to the cake icing, and the stacked sentiment and then added banners with the recipients names on them, twin boys that I met through working at the garage.
I'm sure that my Teamies and I will continue to meet up in blogland although it will seem strange not to have a deadline once a fortnight.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and hugs.

More 3D Embossing Folders

 Evening All

Here we go again, another Monday into November, how scary is that.

I have a few more cards made with 3D embossing folders for you tonight.
It's amazing how different a design can look when you use different colours with it.
And also whether you focus on the debossed
or embossed side of the folder.
They make fabulous backgrounds for a few die cut florals
or a basic frame,
or even a die cut sentiment.
I think that probably my favourite way of using them is with coloured card stock and good old gilding wax. It shows up all the amazing detail and is just so quick and easy to do.
Thanks for stopping by.

Remember Them

 Hi All,

Today in the UK we celebrate Remembrance Sunday, so here is a card that I made using one of fabulous Designer Boutique stamps designed for Creative Expressions to celebrate the day.

A poppy is the traditional flower to commemorate this day,
so I coloured it in traditional colours.
I die cut the coloured panel and mounted it onto a black mat
before layering it onto a 3D embossed panel highlighted with Razzamatazz Lustre polish.
Unfortunately most of the usual parades and memorial ceremonies have been cancelled so we have had to observe the 2 minutes silence at home.
Stay safe and remember all of those who died to save us all.

Set Goals and Achieve Them

Evening All,

A good mantra to live by, I just wish that I could live up to it myself lol.

This card is made using a couple of the new stamp sets designed for Woodware by the lovely Jane Gill.
I made the hexagonal background with an embossing folder and Distress Oxide inks.
I used JGS752 Umbrella Grass stamped and embossed in gold,
along with JGS753 Queen Anne's Lace in black ink with clear embossing powder.
The sentiment is from another new stamp set JGB012 You Can Do It.
To create the background I tapped several colours of Distress Oxide ink pads on one side of EF-019 Honeycomb Haven embossing folder and then spritzed it with water before placing a sheet of black card stock inside.
Making sure that the card stock doesn't move press firmly with your hands to transfer the ink to the card. You can often get a second impression after a little more water has been added. In fact I think the first card may actually have been made with one of those 'second impression' pieces.
This card was made using exactly the same colours of inks in the folder. It's amazing how different they can look on black and on white card.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

Break out those Embossing Folders

 Evening,

I may have only worked a couple of days this week, but I am very glad that it is Friday. I can't believe how busy we have been today, it seemed like any other Friday, not the 2nd day of a new lockdown!!!!!

Here are a few more cards using a favourite 3D embossing folder.
They really don't need much more than a piece of coloured card stock and some gilding wax.
This one was made with a piece of alcohol inked background.
Of course you don't have to use the entire panel,
you can even chop it up into pieces.
Even tiny pieces can be used up to make a card.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope that I might have inspired you to break out those embossing folders.............and play.

New Stamps from Woodware

 Evening,

Another really cold morning which didn't get much better all day, so let's have a card using one of Jane's fabulous new stamps to cheer us all up.

I created the background using Distress Oxide inks and an embossing folder.
I stamped and embossed this beautiful design onto it
and added some glitter glue once I had trimmed the panel down and added it to the main card.
I trimmed around the sentiment panel
and added it over some string.
There are some fabulous new floral designs in this new release. I LOVE them all.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Embossing Folder

Evening All,

Boy was it cold this morning when I came home. We had to scrape the ice off the car windows as there was quite a frost. Time to swap out the summer shirts for the winter jumpers me thinks lol.

My good friend Gill Till has posted her Way To Go Wednesday challenge over on Facebook for Christmas Card and Papercraft Challenge.

The challenge is to use your embossing folders.
I made this card lots of years ago for the lovely Janice and Andy at SirStampalot. It uses an old Christmas embossing folder for the background.
I used Versamark ink and embossing powders on black card stock for a Letterpress look.
I also added a cute Penny Black image and some die cut holly branches.
Thanks for stopping by, better get my stuff ready for work tomorrow.
Stay safe

Thank You Emma

Evening All

My few days holiday helping out with the littlest Grandchildren has come to an end. I stayed a couple of extra days, while I could, although as I am child care provider every other weekend I hope to see them again soon.

Emma lends me her bedroom for my stay and then the Girls take it in turns to have a sleepover on the floor next to me which is lovely. I will miss my little roomies.

Daddy is giving me a lift tomorrow morning when he goes to work at the airport so I will be eased back in to my very early starts in preparation for work on Thursday.

So on that note I had better get to bed.

Thank you for the use of it Emma.

Big hugs from Mamma. xx

EDITED - I left Emma a little thank you card on her pillow when I left this morning, so she sent me this picture. She was thrilled with her card.

May All of Your Wishes Come True

Evening,

May All of Your Wishes Come True.................... so may this bloody virus disappear so that we can all get back to some sort of normal.

Unfortunately I see no signs of that for the foreseeable future, and I am definitely not looking forward to being plunged in to another lockdown.

I am actually one of the lucky ones, in that I work in what is considered an essential service. I know I struggle with people not wearing masks, but I am still grateful for being out of the house for 8 hours each day, and for the fact that I get to see people..................no matter how annoying and inconsiderate they may be.

I made this card using one of the fabulous new Paper Panda stamps.
It definitely has an Alice in Wonderland vibe to it I think.
I teamed it with  some handmade background paper, an embossing folder, and a die cut sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by and putting up with my rantings lol.

Happy Halloween...Part 2

Evening,

Another busy day which ended with taking all the Halloween decorations down. So before we are completely done with it for another year, here are a couple more cards that I made.

My youngest daughter in particular loves Halloween, and her children are still young enough to enjoy dressing up and getting into the spirit of it, so here is a card that I made for her.
I also made cards for the little ones that she looks after who were coming to take part in the 'Headcorn Hunt' that people in the village had organised to replace actual Trick or Treating.
There were various routes that could be taken with houses participating by leaving an organized clue on their front door and wrapped sweets for the children as an option.
Becki was one of the houses with clues and having brought the littlest ones home early as they were cold while Becki stayed out with the older ones, I must say it was nice to hear people at the door, without having to open it to them.
Not the same I know but at least the kids were able to have some fun.
There was one house that went all out with a really spooky display including the residents dressed as zombies who moved and spoke as you walked past. They scared the crap out of me I have to say, but the kids all slept OK so it can't have been that bad lol.
So now everything is packed away and the kids and I are making pumpkin soup tomorrow after school.

We have already made a note of how many branches and bats we need to die cut for next year although we say that every year don't we that we are going to be more organized.
Our ghostly milk bottles haven't faired quite so well. They looked really good on the night. Dreadful to photograph. And then completely misshapen the following morning so we are going to have to ditch them and collect them again next year. Only this time we will get them all painted at the beginning of the month, not the beginning of the day lol.
Thanks for stopping by.
