Paper Pieced Floral

Morning,

I do love a bit of Paper Piecing, especially when there are nice large pieces to play around with.

I used a sheet of background paper from a Clarity Paper pad for the first two cards.
That of course being the other beauty of Paper Piecing.......you get a Twofer.
I'm not so sure about this card, but as I have often found everyone's taste is so different. The cards that I have spent ages on and am really happy with are often sidestepped for the ones that I am less than happy with, like this one. I guess that it is a good thing that we are all different otherwise there wouldn't be such a wealth of wonderful new things for us to play with. It would be very boring if we were all the same.
This is a lovely layering die set and I have used the leftover paper for the background panel on this card. I then layered some white card stock on to a sticker sheet before die cutting the main image. This allowed all the pieces to be held in place.
I managed to match the colours in the background paper using my Distress inks.
A fine white matt helps to 'lift' the die cut and coloured panel along with a piece of funky foam for added dimension.
The sentiment is from my stash and comes from Simon Says Stamp........I think.

Happy 21st

Evening,

Every year I make a card for my Boss to give his daughters on their birthdays. It's a good job that I have them in my planner, cause he has stopped reminding me that he would like me to make them lol.

This year it is a very special birthday,
so I knew that he would want it celebrated in style.
I used my Tonic heart dies and die cut numbers along with a piece of Clarity background paper.
The sentiments stamped along the side of the paper are from a Sheena stamp set.
Boss always likes the girls name on their cards as they are impossible for him to get under normal circumstances.
Finishing this is as much as I can manage today. I'm so glad that tomorrow is Friday, I really have to get another special card finished and write Christmas cards, and at the moment the only thing that I fancy doing is sleep.
Night, night.

A Banner Birthday

Evening,
What a miserable day. Several of my crafty friends are suffering with leaking roofs after the dreadful wind and rain that we have been experiencing today.
So here is a nice bright card to hopefully cheer up your day.
Every year I make a card for my Boss's daughter, and he likes me to put her name on it.
This time I used a piece of Clarity patterned paper for the base of my card and then some die cut banners and an Altenew Tall Alphabet die set for her name.
The flowers are diecut from more of the background paper and some matching plain scraps.
The sentiment is a new die that I recently acquired from Simon Says Stamp.
Let's hope that tomorrow is a little calmer and that there are no more leaky roofs.
Thanks for stopping by, happy Crafting and hugs

Add some Sparkle on CCM challenge

Hi All,
We have a new challenge starting today over at CCM, and Marlene is looking for you to Add some Sparkle.
Of course the obvious choice for this challenge is this fabulous Fairy image from LOTV Simply Prints.
I did a bit of fussy cutting and some decoupage, and added plenty of sparkle to their wings with Stardust Glitter Glue.
Unfortunately it is very hard to see in the photos. In real life it is VERY sparkly!!!
I hope that you can find the time to join us. Don't forget to pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the team have been up to.
Have a wonderful day.

Ally Pally Playtime Part 1

Good Evening Everyone
We paid our biannual trip to Ally Pally a couple of weeks ago. It is a lovely show, my favourite, and reasonably local to us, although it does seem to be getting smaller and smaller.
I remember demoing there for many years with heaving crowds around you all the time.
Now as a customer I much prefer the fact that you can get to everything you want without pushing through the hoards, but it must be quite worrying for all the companies that attend, given how jolly expensive it is to have a stand.
With the show in mind, and given that the classes on a Saturday are generally driven by what the Girls want to play with, I decided this last Saturday that we would have a session where we all bring along something that we had bought at Ally Pally the previous week.
Now I am a very lucky Girl and get to make samples for Jane Gill. Her stamps are designed for Woodware, which is now part of Creative Expressions and several of my samples were on display at Ally Pally.
Although I am lucky enough to get to play with Jane's designs before anyone else, the show was the perfect opportunity for me to buy some of the other wonderful Woodware stamps which I don't have access to which are designed by Francoise Read.
So this is part of my contribution to playtime on Saturday, just a few of my purchases.
I simply adore this fabulous 'Birthday' die from Sheena, I can see it featuring quite a bit on future projects, and I have already started a list of things that I NEED to purchase next time lol.
'Happy' is from one of Francoise stamps sets that I bought at the show. It works perfectly with this fantastic die by Sheena.
One of the Girls brought along some Embossing powders to play with, so this card incorporates several of my purchases, along with her fabulous embossing powders from Be Creative.
The background paper is from Clarity, one of several amazing paper pads that I now own.
This card uses the same fabulous die from Sheena, this time layered over a piece of embossed card stock. No not another purchase, this time I used an embossing folder from my not inconsiderable stash :O)
I can definitely see me using this die a lot more, although isn't that always the way with new toys. You play them to death, until something else new takes over in your affections lol.
We had a fabulous time on Saturday playing with every ones purchases. So much so that I will have to come back with a part two tomorrow - Internet willing of course lol.

Happy Birthday Emma

Evening Everyone,
Well I have been a much happier bunny today...............we have had rain.

Of course we could have done with it staying nice and sunny on Sunday for Emma's birthday party, but it was not to be, so we managed indoors.
These were taken on the Saturday when Emma was able to get out in the garden.

It did get a bit manic at one stage on Sunday, and it was probably quite fortuitous that several people were unable to make it on the day as I'm not sure that there was an inch of floor space left. But none the less I think everyone enjoyed themselves, young and old alike, and those somewhere in between.
I think that the hit gift of the day was the mechanical unicorn. It may have been for Emma, who is very in to them at the moment, but her little sister Chloe, was bouncing up and down and getting really excited as it travelled across the floor. She is so very near to crawling that I think she may very well start, just so that she can get to it.
I think it all got a bit too much in the end, so two little people were sound asleep by 8.30, unheard of just recently, so I think they were closely followed by Mum and Dad, although I'm told that it didn't last for very long :O(
I recently gave in and acquired some Chameleon pens and Color Tops. Oh boy do they make for easy colouring and blending.
I have resisted the temptation for ages as I have Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers which I rarely use as I just can't seem to master the art of colour blending with them.
I wish that I had changed to the Chameleon system a long time ago because I actually found myself enjoying the colouring process instead of reaching for the precoloured digi images.
The letters and 'celebrate' are die cut, and the sentiments are from Altenew.
Like most little girls Emma is in to pink and purple which matched perfectly a sheet of wonderful Clarity background paper.
Emma wanted an E for her birthday cake this year, so I coloured another Unicorn digi image to pop in  the corner. It is the same one as I used on her card, but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the finished cake before we cut it all up.
I know that I will probably be shouted down, but I do hope that we have a little more of this less than sunny weather. I know that the gardens need it, and I might even find some energy to get things done, instead of lying down in a darkened room trying to escape the heat.
Night, night.
