Happiness is.............Good Friends

Evening,
I have just spent a fabulous afternoon in the company of good friends.
We used to work together at The Craft Barn back in the day, and although we keep in touch, our get togethers have been few and far between. In fact it has probably been 10 years since we last sat down together. Despite the years conversation flowed like we had never been apart, good friends indeed.
I have always loved solid, silhouette style stamps as the Girls will probably remember, so these beauties were a definite must from Stamps By Me.
The background has been created using stencils and Distress Oxide inks before stamping and embossing in black.
As you can see I used the stencil the wrong way round for this background, but who cares that the numbers are back to front, I don't, I just like the look.
Once again I have used a black ink pad and clear embossing powder to give a dramatic look to the card.
This final card uses the same numeric stencil, this time with black card and pale Distress Oxide inks.
In order to make the images stand out on this card, I stamped and embossed with versamark ink and pale gold embossing powder.

Big Leafy Hugs

Evening,
I do love Alcohol inks, they work perfectly on such a wide variety of products including metallic cardstock.
I used gold metallic card for the embossed panel on this card,
which I coloured using alcohol inks.
I also added plenty of die cut leaves, shaped,
and then added using silicon glue for extra dimension.
I also added a rather dramatic sentiment across the embossed panel.
Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Panel Dies

Evening,
And it's turned into another chilly one here.
I do love dies, and Creative Expressions have released some real stunners over the last few months.
These dies are from a Floral Panel release by the wonderful Sue Wilson.
They are such delicate panel dies
which I have used over some handmade background papers. This one is from the Cosmos set CED2051.
They come as sets of two dies in a pack,
with this one from a set called CED2056 - Buttercup.
Now as crafters, who doesn't like a 'Twofer', and these are perfect for that.
I have layered this beautifully delicate sentiment die.
This is the leftovers from the previous card
which I added to an embossed panel. The perfect easy 'Twofer'.

Sending Love and Hugs

Afternoon,

I'm sending Love and Hugs to my Mum and siblings today on the 21st Anniversary of the death of My Dad. I can't believe where the time has gone, it seems like only yesterday!!

The background to this card is created using a stencil and paste.
It was actually the paste left on the stencil after a previous use.
It seemed much too good to waste so I lay the stencil on a piece of purple card and used a baby wipe to clean the stencil, which transferred the paste to the cardstock.
I also added a little mica spray and then some Altenew flowers and foliage which had also been coloured using layering stencils.
The second card also has a stencil and paste background,
but I was a little over generous with the paste,
so the floral design hides a multitude of sins.....and a large splodge lol.
I love this layered die cut sentiment, which I used on both cards.

So sending love and hugs to All who are having a hard time at the moment.

Thanks for stopping by, with Love and Crafty Hugs

Some Spotlights for Gill

Afternoon,

My good friend Gill has just set her 'Way to Go Wednesday' challenge over at the The Christmas Card Challenge Group on Facebook. In fact she asked there how long we had known each other. She came and watched me demo at Ally Pally in October 2004. She then produced a copy of my book for me to sign and asked if I could organize a class for her and a few friends, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This week she has chosen a Spotlight card, which I love to do. Apart from anything else it often results in a 'Twofer', and is also a great way to cover up a mistake.

In fact I have made so many over the years that I thought that I would remind you of some of the more recent ones. The first batch are all Christmas cards......very suitable for the challenge group.

And this second batch are all occasion cards.

As you can see there were quite a few lol.
I hope that they will inspire you to try out this fabulous technique. Why not head over to Facebook and join everyone in the group, they come up with some fabulous cards and some cracking tips.
Thanks for stopping by.
