Black Magic Masterboard

Hi All,

Another slow but productive day in the craft room.

As you know I am still on a mission to use up bits and pieces from my craft room, so I want to try and keep on top of the classes now that they are back on.

Thankfully I had several stamped pieces in a folder from a previous class on the Black Magic technique, so I was able to do colouring during class, rather than stamping out loads more pieces that never get finished.

One of the things that I found, along with a few previously finished cards, was a whole sheet of stamped images just waiting to be coloured in.

Having finished the colouring in class, I decided to chop the panel up to make several different cards.

I even used up some of the scraps along with a small square die for this card,

and this one.

I even managed to use up a piece of embossed cardstock in the background to this card.

These last couple of cards were made using a couple of precoloured pieces that I found in the box.

I do love this technique, and as several of the ladies couldn't make the first class, I am sure that we will be repeating it at some stage.

For the moment it's back to working on something a little bit hush hush for Janice and Andy.

Black Magic Flowers

Evening  Everyone,

We had a lovely day in class yesterday, but who knew how long it would take to finish anything off when you have one hand in a splint!!

Colouring yesterday was quite therapeutic, and not too bad to do since I'm right handed, but mounting bits up today seems to have taken forever. These cards were made using one of Jane's fabulous Bold Blooms designs for Woodware.

Once again the image has been stamped on dark card using a white ink pad, and then coloured over with Spectrum Noir colouring pencils.

Same stamp and technique, only this time I used watercolour pencils. I thought that I would try blending the colours with a waterbrush once I had finished colouring the image in. It gives a slightly different look to that of the Spectrum Noir pencils.

Need to rest my arm now, then maybe I can do a little bit more tomorrow.

A Little Bit of Normal

Evening,

What a lovely day it has been. I don't care about the weather, it has been so wonderful to sit and craft with friends for the first time in over a year. We last got together on 14th Match 2020!!!!

We have spent the day colouring using the Black Magic Technique.

The technique involves stamping with white ink onto dark, or kraft card and then coloring over the top of the image with colouring pencils.

I trimmed this panel down and added twine and faux stitching before layering it onto a piece of embossed card.

I used the same image here stamped onto a panel of three colours of card stock.

I used plain old watercolour pencils here, but we also had Spectrum Noir pencils to play with.

It is amazing how everyone concentrates while they are colouring. There were several periods of quiet amongst all the talking. 

It's a shame that not everyone could come to class today, but it was lovely to get back to a little bit of normal, and there is always another class in a fortnight...........................everything crossed.

Paper Panda Meadow Frame Die

Evening Everyone, 

I finally got to see my lovely Mum today after what seems like forever. I have managed to see her through the window a couple of times, but it's just not the same. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind so we had to sit with the doors wide open and our masks on but that didn't matter I got to see her. I took her a goody bag of her favourite bits and pieces so that she can indulge herself with my love. She had a little M&S apple crumble for her pudding tonight and has her eyes on the rice pudding next. I know how to treat a girl lol.

Mum's garden is a little wild in places, although my brother has made a start on taming some of it, so I thought that this card was a perfect post for today.

It has been created using the fabulous Paper Panda Meadow Frame die CEDPP024.

The background panel has been stamped with a white pigment ink pad and JGS760 Lily Sketch, and then sponged with Cosmic Shimmer Colour Clouds inks Bright Sunshine, Tangy Tangerine and Purple Paradise. The white ink acts as a resist allowing the stamped images to show through.

I stamped over the top of this panel with the same stamp and white ink before adding the Meadow Frame die cut from white card stock.

I added matts and layers to the panel and a sentiment strip.

A Gift For You

 Evening Everyone,

Well I'm pleased to say that I have had a very productive weekend on the crafting front. I'm not completely caught up with DT work, but I have made a huge dent in it and have stuff ready to go to the Post Office tomorrow, thank goodness.

I can't share any of it with you yet I'm afraid, so here instead is a card from a while ago made using one of Jane's stamps.

I stamped onto black card stock using a white ink pad and then coloured over the top of the image with my Spectrum Noir pencils.

I die cut the coloured image with a circular die and continued the circular theme with the dotty embossing folder highlighted with gilding wax.

Off Set Inked Pine Cones.

Evening,
I've been travelling on the train today to visit my youngest daughter and the littlest Grandbabies for a few days.
It takes a couple of hours, so it is always a good opportunity to catch up with a couple of Jennifer McGuire's Youtube videos. I have to say that she is my 'Go To' place for inspiration, I always manage to add another idea to my ever growing list of things to try.

This card was inspired by just one such video on Off Set Inking. 

It manages to give the image a fabulous 3D feel.

I tried a slightly different 'offset' for the second card,

and I'm really not sure which one I like the best.
Let's see what more ideas I can get from good old Jennifer,

Painted Poinsettia

Evening All,
Wow what a scorcher. I'm afraid that I abandoned all plans of walking this afternoon, and instead immersed myself in making some more Christmas samples for Jane, in a bid to make myself feel cooler. Didn't work, but I had fun lol.

Here is a Christmas card made with one of last years stamps designed by Jane Gill.

I do like this technique of stamping a solid image in white ink and then colouring over the top with pencils.

I went with very traditional Christmas colours here, although maybe not the black so much.
I do hope that it cools down a little tomorrow, although my phone is telling me that it is going to be even hotter.

Lino Cut Robin and Holly

Evening Everyone,
I've been in full Christmas mode over the last few days, frantically finishing samples for a new launch at Creative Expressions. All very hush hush at the moment I'm afraid. I certainly don't want to let the cat out of the bag too soon like I did with one of the Woodware designs. Still at least it meant you got a bit of a sneak peek lol.

Speaking of the latest Woodware Christmas release, here is a card that I am allowed to share with you.

I made it using JGS728 Lino Cut Robin and Holly.

I stamped it onto black cardstock using a white ink pad,

and then coloured over the top of the image with my watercolour pencils. I die cut the image using an older Sue Wilson die, and layered it over some embossed cardstock.

The sentiment is also part of the stamp set which is always useful.
I have lots of leftover bits to finish off tomorrow, so another day of festive cheer.
