Chalking in Blues

Evening Everyone,

Thank goodness it's Friday, it's been a VERY long week with several ridiculously early starts, so I am really looking forward to class tomorrow where I can relax and have fun with friends.

Here are another couple of cards from my book that use Decorating Chalks. I do love using them on vellum. The only challenge with that is how to attach it to the card. Wrapping it around the card to hid the tape is one way, or covering up the tape with another card panel or gems is another alternative.
I fussy cut a few extra flowers to add to this card and then added some gems.
I can see that I will have to add a sentiment to this one to cover up where the gem is missing. I doubt that I will be able to match it after all these years, so hiding it is the next best thing.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.

Mini Flower Silhouettes

 Evening,

Did you catch Francoise on the TV today. Unfortunately one of her shows was cancelled but she did get to show how to make fabulous coloured backgrounds. Lots of inky goodness, just my kind of thing.

Much as I love playing with all things inky, one of my all time favourite techniques is still heat embossing.

This card was made using one of the new smaller size stamp sets FRM002 Mini Flower Silhouettes. I did some gold embossing on a strip of kraft card, and added it to a red card base which has been stamped on in versamark/perfect medium to give a watermark effect.
I added a stamped and embossed sentiment. A very quick and simple card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Three Butterflies

Evening Everyone,
I have been lucky enough, over the last few years, to make samples for Jane's wonderful stamp designs for Woodware.
One of the many advantages to now being on the Creative Expressions Design Team, is that I now also get the chance to work with some of Francoise designs as well.
Now I do love a butterfly. Hate moths, but I love butterflies.....crazy I know.
These gorgeous creatures are from one of her newest stamp sets that were released on Tuesday.
I stamped and embossed them on to a piece of 'mop up' background paper and then added some extra colour using one of the Irridescent Shimmering Watercolour Palletes.
I fussy cut them and added them to a panel of card scraps embossed using EF-104 Coffee Stain embossing folder.
This second card uses another of the butterfly stamps from this release.
I also used a mini flower silhouette stamp in the background, stamped using versamark/ perfect medium ink on khaki card stock.
Another of Francoise fabulous new background stamps on the blue card stock.
There is a tiny bug stamp as part of the flower set so I added a few of them as well.
Thanks for stopping by.
I'll try and share one of Jane's designs tomorrow.

Paper Panda Apple Tree

Evening All,
Did you catch Gwen on Create and Craft TV today showcasing the new Paper Panda dies?
This lovely Apple Tree Die came in my August Goodie box as part of my Creative Expressions DT commitments.
I die cut the apple from both cream card which I coloured with chocolate bronze and golden olive gilding polish, and black glossy card which I used to create a shadow.
The background panel that I added the apple to was created by brayering white gesso onto cardstock, and then sponging it with Distress Oxide inks once it was dry.
I also cut the die from funky foam and chopped it up a little to create my own custom stamp to match the die. I then used this to stamp down the side of the green card panel using Versamark or Perfect Medium ink.
Part of my remit as DT member is to list all of the products that I have used for each card. This actually turned out to be very useful, since I had completely forgotten that I had used the Gilding Polishes on the die cut apple lol.
I took a photograph of my list so that I had a copy...... my goodness I must have had my sensible hat on that day lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

New Release

Evening Everyone,
Creative Expressions launched some beautiful new floral stamps yesterday, and they are absolutely gorgeous.
I do love floral stamps, they are so versatile.
I think this design Blooming Day is probably my favourite from this release.
I stamped the design on to khaki coloured cardstock using perfect medium ink.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment before adding the floral image as I didn't want the embossing powder to stick to it.
The background paper has been created using Mixed Media Dark Age embossing powder on cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by.
