Catch Gwen on the Box

 Evening Everyone,

Just a quick post tonight to remind you that the lovely Gwen Fletcher will be on Create and Craft tomorrow showcasing some new stamps from Designer Boutique.
They are beautiful stamps designed with DL cards in mind.
There is also a sentiment set designed to go with them.
As DT members we were asked if we had any ideas for sentiments that we would like added, so I asked for 'Have a very happy unbirthday' since you know how rubbish I am at getting cards sent out on time.
Guess what.........they obliged. How cool is that.
Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Panda Apple Tree

Evening All,
Did you catch Gwen on Create and Craft TV today showcasing the new Paper Panda dies?
This lovely Apple Tree Die came in my August Goodie box as part of my Creative Expressions DT commitments.
I die cut the apple from both cream card which I coloured with chocolate bronze and golden olive gilding polish, and black glossy card which I used to create a shadow.
The background panel that I added the apple to was created by brayering white gesso onto cardstock, and then sponging it with Distress Oxide inks once it was dry.
I also cut the die from funky foam and chopped it up a little to create my own custom stamp to match the die. I then used this to stamp down the side of the green card panel using Versamark or Perfect Medium ink.
Part of my remit as DT member is to list all of the products that I have used for each card. This actually turned out to be very useful, since I had completely forgotten that I had used the Gilding Polishes on the die cut apple lol.
I took a photograph of my list so that I had a copy...... my goodness I must have had my sensible hat on that day lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Designer Boutique Stained Glass Windows

Evening All
I hope that you caught the lovely Gwen on the TV today using the new Designer Boutique Stained Glass Window Collection of stamps. I'm pretty sure you can watch them on catch up for the next few day if you missed them.
I was lucky enough to get to play with the stamps that she was using in the shows,
so here are my last couple of cards using them.
The last couple for the moment that is.
I can see plenty more playtime when I get the chance,
especially trying out some of the fabulous ideas that Gwen shared with us on her shows.
Thanks for stopping by.

Dancing Opal Blaze Beetle

Evening Everyone,
Is it really only Monday, I feel like I have worked a whole week already, I'm shattered.
Not too tired to catch up with Gwen on Create and Craft though, where she has been demonstrating with the fabulous Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze Touch Tips.
Being part of the Creative Expressions DT has lots of benefits, not least of which is playing with new products before they hit the shops.
They were part of my goodie box for this month, so when we got an urgent plea for a sample to show them off at launch I eagerly obliged.
I chose to use one of Francoise amazing new bug stamps that I had treated myself to.
It reminds me of my school days, where we had to draw and colour pictures of some of the fabulous treasures found in Tutankhamun tomb.
As I have told you before I never know what I am going to make until I start to play so photographing steps at the same time as making a card is not always possible, it is also very time consuming.
So you may notice some very slight colour changes in the two cards above as I got one in the post rather quickly for the launch, and then remade it taking step by step photos.
I must confess that I did give my Mum a sneaky peek of it before it made it into the postbox. I miss popping over to see her once a week and sharing some of the cards that I have made.
On this occasion it just worked out nicely that I was having a socially distanced visit to her on the way to the post office. She absolutely loved it so I think that I might adapt the card for her 90th birthday this year.  Not that she ever seems to dislike the things that I show her, or maybe she is just being a nice Mum and never admits it. She was particularly keen on this one though. The sparkle from the Opal Polish is amazing, which of course doesn't show up terribly well in the photographs.
I can see a few more of these finding their way into my shopping basket sometime soon lol.
Have a great evening and stay safe.

New Designer Boutique Stamps

Evening Everyone,
Creative Expressions have launched some more stamps in their Designer Boutique range, and I was lucky enough to get to play with a couple of them.
I also got my hands on a couple of their fabulous Airless Misters, which is what I used to create the background.
I stamped and embossed the Floral Flamingo onto a piece of mixed media cardstock using versamark ink and white embossing powder.
I spritzed the image with a couple of different colours and then used the same inks to paint parts of the image.
I decided to use the floral part of the image to stamp and emboss the corners of the main card, again using white embossing powder, then I sprayed with the same colours so that it looked like the panel was cut from the centre of it.
I matte and layered the circular panel onto white and then black and added it to the centre of the card using craft foam for added dimension.
The sentiment comes from the same stamp set.
Gwen will be showcasing these designs on Create and Craft this Satuday 6th June, so why not join us,
Have a great evening. Stay safe.

Designer Boutique Stamps on TV

Afternoon,
I hope that you are well. This was supposed to have coincided with Gwen's shows on Create and Craft featuring the lovely new stamps from Designer Boutique under the Creative Expressions umberella, but I nodded off before I could finish writing it it :O)
This is the card that I made for Creative Expressions using the fabulous new 'A different View' stamp from this collection.
I stamped and embossed it onto watercolour cardstock using Jurassic Mixed Media embossing powder.
I sponged over the image with Distress Oxide inks and then buffed it with a piece of kitchen paper before splashing it with a few drops of water.
The die cut sentiment has been coloured with the same inks and then coated in Glossy Accents for added dimension.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to check out the shows on Create and Crafts catch up. Gwen has loads more inspiring samples for you to see.
Happy Crafting and Hugs
