Abracadabra.........

Evening,
Thank goodness that week has come to an end. I've been really stressed out at work so it will be great to relax tomorrow with a lovely class at Davina's.
Another quick card tonight using a piece of Gelli Plate/Creative Palette background.............
Penny Black leaf stamp and matching die................
and a 'Wizardy' topper from LOTV.
I could have done with a magic wand and a spell book this week, there are a few people that I would like to have turned in to frogs.
Never mind, maybe I can practice for next week........abracadabra.

Happy Birthday Rithika

Hi All
Another wet and miserable day here, so lets throw a little sunshine on the proceedings with this card that I made for my Boss's daughter. At least it made him smile, and her too.
With everything that has been going on at work just lately Sega forgot to speak to me about making a card, but as his daughters are written into my birthday planner I made one over the weekend so as not to be caught out like last year.
The main image is a Lili of the Valley topper, die cut using a circular Grand Nestie.
I added some faux stitching and then mounted it onto purple card stock die cut using my favourite Go Create die.
The main background is a piece of white card which has been dry embossed with dye based ink on the folder before running it through the machine. It has also been spritzed with assorted Glimmer Mists.
The sentiments are all from Lili of the Valley, but her name has been spelt with die cut letters.
The die cut leaves match the stamped images on the purple card stock and are by Penny Black.
Today has seen more rain fall, although fortunately no where near the cyclone levels that they forecast. Long may their predictions be wrong I say :O)
People have still been driving though like lunatics with no care for anyone else. They also appear to be oblivious to the police presence.
I actually witnessed a driver continue to drive through the flood water despite the policeman standing in front of him with his arm raised telling him to stop. There was quite a cheer when the police officer pulled him over and gave him a ticket lol.
Oh well lets see what tomorrow brings.

Feel Better Soon

Hi All
I don't know about you, but 2013 ended for me with the need for several 'Hope you are feeling better soon' cards, so here is one that I made for my daughter after her surgery.
Amazingly all the individual elements to make the card were found lurking in my 'Bits Box', it's surprising what you can find when you start to look.
Of course I had to add a bit of stamping and embossing in the corners of the purple background paper using Penny Black 4347K Christmas Reds and Greens.
I even managed to find a handmade flower and some die cut leaves to match the stamped ones.
The circles have all been die cut using various Nesties.
I would like to enter this into the challenge at Craftyhands where Anything Goes.
Have a fabulous weekend.

New Beginnings

Evening Everyone,
OK now, own up, who made New Year's resolutions?
Are you going to get fitter, be a better blogger, keep on top of DT work?
I know I've said them all too, now let's see just how long they last.
I did manage to blog every day except one last year, so let's see if I can improve on that shall we. No pressure then!!
As we are at the start of a New Year, it seems appropriate that my first card of 2014 should be a new baby card.
Once again I reached for a fabulous pre-printed Lili of the Valley image which I have die cut using a Nestie.
I matched my papers to the image and made a patchwork background using one of my hexagonal Die-Namics dies.
I just love this as a background to a card, and it is such a useful way of using up all of those small bits of paper that are just too good to throw away.
Of course I had to get some real stamping and embossing in there on the stripy pink paper.
I also added some ribbon and some die cut leaves.

I thought that I would try and enter a few challenges again this year, so here we go
A little bit Crafty - Celebrate (A new baby)
Heck of a challenge - New (A new baby)
Sweet Stamps - Something New

I hope that you are enjoying yourselves, I'm just about to start a bit of cardmaking, that really is my ideal way to spend an evening.
Happy Crafting, and a very Happy New Year.

Happy Birthday to the Boss's Daughter

Evening Everyone
Today is the birthday of my Boss's Daughter.
This time I actually got a couple of weeks notice that he needed a card, rather than the couple of hours that I got last year lol.
I chose a lovely Lili of the Valley pre-coloured image and cut it out using a circular Nestie.
I mounted it onto a glitter paper scalloped circle and added some die cut leaves.
Ledshajini's name has been added using letters cut with my new alphabet die.
Of course no Girly card would be complete without the addition of some bling.
The background paper is from a Lili of the Valley pad, and I added my favourite Hobby Art sentiment down the right hand side using second generation ink.
I'm afraid that I am no nearer completing my Christmas card writing. One year I am going to be so far ahead with everything that I will scare myself, but I'm not holding my breath on that one lol.

On their Wedding Day

Evening Everyone,
Well this weekend went by in the blink of an eye didn't it!!
I haven't set foot outside again today so going out to work tomorrow will be a bit of a shock. I hope it isn't too cold.
This card was made for the daughter of friends who got married on Saturday.
The central image is from Lili of the Valley cut out using a Nestie, and layered onto some gold cardstock.
The white card in the background has been embossed using a folder and my Grand Calibre. I added a little Antique Linen Distress ink to make it stand out a little more.
The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley, cut out using another Nestie.
I added flowers, pearls, a shrivelled ribbon bow, and some foliage cut out with a Penny Black die that I bought on my trip to SirStampalot.
It's a good job that I can hand deliver this as I didn't have and cardstock big enough to make a box lol.
Thanks for stopping by.
