Christmas Flowers

Evening,

Well I am certainly suffering for all my activity yesterday. I've been hobbling around like a very old lady because my feet hurt so much - that will teach me to put a couple of plasters on BEFORE I start walking. To be fair, one way was fine, but the second 3 miles was a step too far, so to speak.

Here is another card made using the fabulous Imagination stencil and large Christmas die.
The background was created during a wonderful Hobby Art Design Team weekend many years ago. We had a fabulous time playing and sharing ideas and techniques, hence the non Hobby Art equipment. The only problem is I cannot for the life of me remember how the background was made. I'm sure that it used Imagination products, and I seem to remember that a heat gun was involved, but other than that I am at a loss. I will have to see if anyone else that was there can remember how I made it.

Have a great evening.

Happy Birthday Jenni

Evening,

What a difference some years can make to the weather. This day 43 years ago we had thick snow on the ground. It was the day my eldest daughter was born. My Dad had driven us to the hospital during a blizzard the day before (Valentines Day).

Jenni arrived early in the morning of the 15th and due to the thickness of the snow her Dad couldn't get home from the hospital so the nurses pushed a couple of chairs together in a side room for him to get a couple of hours sleep before braving the elements. I can't imagine that happening in this day and age, mores the pity.

I have already shared her birthday card, so here are a couple of birthday cards made using a fabulous floral stencil from Imagination.
I created a panel for the base of the card using stencil medium and ink. I also created a second panel and fussy cut some of the flowers to add to the main body of the card around the sentiment.
The second card uses the same stencil, some inks and tiny glass beads.
I also added some die cut sentiments.
Let's hope that we stick with the weather that we have at the moment and don't try to copy it from all those years ago. I can certainly live with out the white stuff thank you very much lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sparkly Stencils

Evening Everyone,

Here are another couple of cards from my photo album of unblogged cards, or at least I hope that I haven't shared them with you before.

I love this sparkly addition to a card using a dotty stencil and some sparkle medium from Imagination.
Here I added colour through the stencil before adding the sparkle medium.
I didn't quite get the balance of colour right on this one, but I rather like it anyway. It's very sparkly in real life.
Well that's another month crossed off of my photo list, but if I ever catch up with the cards already photographed, there is still the two large boxes of cards under the desk, and not forgetting the Christmas cards on top of the cupboard lol.
Thanks for stopping by,

Imagination Florals

Evening All,

We had such fun with the Gelli Plate at the weekend. It was also nice to get a couple of stencils out and use them with it. They are often very underused and fairly inexpensive pieces of kit, but they help to add depth and dimension to a project. I really must play with them more often.

Here is a card that I made a while ago using one of my favourite Imagination stencils in the background.
I'm still trying to work my way through all the card photos on my laptop.
The panel in the center is an Imagination stamp used on some pieces of background paper, with a bit of  decoupage on the flowers.
My turn to cook the dinner so I had better get a wiggle on. No crafting tonight I don't think.
Thanks for stopping by.

Imagination Florals

 Evening,

I hope that you have all made it through another Tuesday safe and sound.

Another card using my favourite Imagination stencil.
I used Sparkle Medium through the stencil to create the background and then sponged over it with Distress Inks.
I trimmed the panel and wrapped a couple of pieces of ribbon around it before adding a sentiment and some foliage.
Here is another very similar card using another Imagination Stencil, only this time I sponged the Distress ink through the stencil and left it at that.
Once again I added ribbon, a sentiment and some foliage covered in Frantage Embossing Powder.
I also added some dots of glossy accents to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Anniversary

 Evening,

Have you had a good day? I would have liked mine to have been a little more productive, but I guess we can't have it all.

I've been doing steps for one of the cards that I had to make last week. It's amazing how long it takes to do. I can't share that yet, so here is a card that I made a while ago using a lovely floral stencil.
I sponged the stencil with black ink and then blended over the top with red sparkle medium from Imagination.
I did a couple of extra flowers that I fussy cut and added to the card along with some red ribbon and a sentiment.
Back to work tomorrow so crafty time will be very limited for a while.
Thanks for stopping by.

Foiled Florals

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you aren't too warm.
One of that last classes that we did before lockdown involved stencils and Sparkle Medium of various varieties, both Imagination and Cosmic Shimmer.
I do love the foiling technique, that I learnt from Sue at Imagination, many years ago.
I made the background using one of  her lovely floral stencils and a couple of colours of Starlights blended through the stencil onto the card. Once dry I foiled it with Sparkle Medium.
I stamped and embossed a sentiment onto a piece of cream card and layered it into the centre of the panel before embellishing it with flowers fussy cut from another stenciled panel, and some die cut foliage.
I used the same floral stencil and black glossy card stock for this card.
I used a Sue Wilson die for the central panel on this card, cut from the same black glossy card.
I raised it on fun foam to help give it dimension.
Thanks for stopping by.

Stencils and Sparkle

Evening Everyone,
And a very happy Sunday to you. I hope that you are all OK.
Here are a couple of cards made using Tim Holtz stencils,
 Imagination Starlight Metallic paints,
 and Sparkle Medium.
This one uses Distress Inks through the stencil,
and then a little Sparkle Medium afterwards.
The die cut sentiment has been coated in Glossy Accents to make it stand out better.
This final card is one that we have unfortunately had to send off all too often just lately.
It was made using the same ingredients as the first card,
just in far more muted colours.
Thank you for stopping by.

Add some Texture for the challenge at CCM

Afternoon All,
We have a wonderful new challenge over at CCM today, where Maike our host is asking you to Add Some Texture. That can be either embossing, heat or dry, texture paste, fabric, anything you like.
As I became a Great Auntie for the second time last week I decided to make a baby card to send to my niece and family.
I have used an embossing folder to create the textured background to my card.
It was coloured using a combination of Starlights, Sparkle Medium and Gilding Waxes all from Imagination Craft.
This has all helped to highlight the texture of the folder. I also sanded the edge of the card which added even more texture.
The cute image is a LOTV topper which I fussy cut and layered onto a diecut and embossed oval.
The flowers and leaves were diecut from white card and then coloured using the same Imagination products. In fact all I did was spritz the sponge that I had used for the background with some water which created a nice pale, but matching colour on the diecuts.
The panel across the card was created using a border punch, some ribbon and tiny gems.
The sentiment is from a wonderfully useful set by Altenew Baby Zoo.stamped onto a die cut banner.
Of course I had to make a card for my Sister and her Hubby to congratulate them on the birth of their latest Grandchild.
More textured background, and die cut sentiment,
along with another LOTV topper.
I hope that you will join us HERE this time, and that you will pop over and show the rest of the DT some love they have created some wonderful projects to inspire you.
Have a great evening. Happy Crafting and hugs
Kimx
