Congratulations Granny

Evening,

My good friend and gym buddy is finally off to Bali tomorrow to meet her newest Granddaughter.

I needed to make sure that she had her birthday card to take with her, so we met up for a coffee out in the fresh air.  Her birthday is at the beginning of March when she will be isolating in a hotel in Bali so I wanted her to have something to open and mark the occasion. I also made her a card to mark Havana's birth. At least now that the baby has arrived Pia can spend her all her time with cuddles. She will need to make the most of her limited time out there. I know just how incredibly lucky I am to be able to see some of my Grandchildren on a daily basis, and visit the rest of them, very easily, at least twice a month, not have to travel halfway around the world.

Once again I reached for my LOTV Simply Print images to make her card.
I die cut the image and added a little distress ink with the die still in place to give that lovely narrow white border.
I checked first to see what Pia was going to be called, and Granny it was.
As I had printed a couple of images I created another card to add to my stash, they always seem to come in handy.
The sentiment is from an old LOTV stamp set.
I recently purchased this fabulous piercing die which I thought made the paper look a little like a quilted blanket.
I wanted to make a card for Pia to take out to her daughter and her partner with all of Havana's birth details on it. Unfortunately time just ran away with me, so I will have to send it. I'm told that it will take ages and probably cost an arm and a leg, but that doesn't matter.
I know that Pia is all packed and ready for the off, although I don't think that she will be able to sleep much tonight with all the excitement of finally being able to travel. I know I wouldn't.
Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome Baby

Evening,

How did you spend your Bank Holiday? Mine was spent making several special cards for the arrival of my good friends latest Great Grandchild.

Once again I reached for my trusty LOTV images, and then tried to match them up with some bits and pieces from my stash. To be honest that is often how cards evolve for me.

I found the punched square in my stash and felt that it perfectly complimented the slightly old fashioned pram.
I also managed to find some bits of background paper that match the image to complete this card.
I felt the baby on the rocking horse worked well with the kraft coloured die cuts.
Once again I found some co-ordinating background papers,
and added stamped sentiments and die cut buttons and stars.

There was an embossed panel in my stash that inspired this card.
I added a few die cut stars and glossy accents,
along with a die cut cloud for the sentiments.
Of course the card for Mum and Dad had to be extra special, but still started with the die cut heart from my stash.
I felt that the bear with balloons worked best if I fussy cut it before adding it to the card.
I wanted to celebrate all the details of Luca's birth so I die cut the letters from grey card and added them around the heart along with a little sparkle pen and a smattering of glitter glue.

Luca's birth was eagerly awaited by all the ladies at craft classes so we are all looking forward to our introduction.......and mandatory cuddle. Most of the ladies grandchildren have made their way to class at some point in their lives. In fact for many their progress has been monitored throughout Mum's pregnancy so we all feel rather like surrogate Grandmothers. It is so lovely to watch their progress.

Thanks for stopping by.

A New Addition to the Family

Evening Everyone,

I became a Great Auntie again at the end of last month, when my nephew and his wife welcomed a beautiful baby girl to their family.

Of course I had to make a special card, but it has taken me a while to send it, hence the delay in sharing it with you.

I used one of my Lili of the Valley toppers along with an alphabet die set
for the important details.
I also added some glossy accents and glitter glue
Olivia's birth meant that my Brother became a Grandad, or Pops as he wants to be known, for the first time, so I sent him and Nanny a card as well.
Back to work tomorrow, so it's off to bed for me.
Thanks for stopping by.

Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge - Day 8 Baby

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you are all OK. I have to admit that I am struggling a bit today, but there are people so much worse off than me, so I just need to put on my big girl pants and get through it.
Today is Day 8 of the 30 Day Challenge at Creative Expressions.
The challenge for today is New Arrival, so here are a few new baby cards that I made recently in a class on Edger Dies.
I used this fabulous 'It's a Girl' die over some handmade background paper.
I cut the teddy bear part of the die out of some kraft card to make him stand out.
I cut the bottom half of the die out of patterned paper and added some funky foam behind it to give the panel dimension.
I hate to waste anything as you know, so here is a card that I made using some of the leftover pieces.
I always like a bit of paper piecing, and a few bits of bling.
This final card uses a fussy cut image from my stash.
I imagine we might have need for a few of these cards in 9 months time given the current lockdown situation. Covid-19 might be natures way of cutting down on the size of the population, but the lockdown will certainly put a dent in that I'm sure lol.
Stay safe all of you.

Love and Hugs

Evening All
What beautiful weather we have had today. Far too hot for me, so a perfect excuse for some crafting.
I have had need of a few New Baby cards just recently, so I finished off several in a couple of classes.
As I have said many times before, LOTV Simply Print images are always my go to for quick and very cute cards.
One of these cards was made for my Cousin's Daughter who made her a very proud first time Grandma in July.
Of course you cant forget the new Grandparents so I made a card for them too.
Another was needed for one of my work colleagues who also became a first time Dad.
I had several panels in my stash from a previous Paper Piecing class so I managed to get them all finished off as well.

After all you never know when you might need another card.
Time for bed I think. I have to be at work as usual tomorrow, no Bank Holiday for me I'm afraid.

An Easter Chick, or a new baby card?

Evening Everyone,
How long has it been?
I really need to get back to this blogging lark. I don't know where the weeks are disappearing to.
Here we are nearly at Easter. At this rate it will be Christmas again before we know it :O)
I don't do Easter. I'm one of those mean 'Mam-mas' who give their Grandchildren books instead of Easter eggs. They get so many, and there is so little actual chocolate in them that I would rather buy them a bar anyway. How miserly does that sound?
We have an Easter challenge running at CCM at the moment. (It finishes on Saturday)
Since I don't make Easter cards, I decided to search through my numerous boxes in the hopes that I might find something suitable that I had previously made.
What I came across was this rather cute chick card which must be at least 10 years old!!
I loved the image and thought that it would actually make a rather sweet baby card, so I did a little bit of repurposing and came up with something that I am much more likely to use.
I felt that the background was a little too heavy for a baby card so I did a little fussy cutting to an image from my stash of toppers and hey presto a usable birthday card.
Having made the changes however I failed to place them on the CCM challenge blog.
Lets hope that it doesn't take me another couple of months to stop by again.
Hope you have had a great evening.

She's Here................Can't Believe it's been 2 Weeks Already

She's here, and I'm just sorry that it has taken me so long to share.
After several weeks of false alarms, and constant pain for her Mum, Chloe Reygate Tickle put in an appearance on Monday 23rd October at 11.29pm weighing a very healthy 8lb 8oz.
A first cuddle with Auntie 'Enni' as Emma calls her.
Mum, Emma and Chloe.
 Home at last.
It's all been too much.
 Sisterly love.
Mum just made it out of the lift and into a side room which was fortunately empty otherwise she would have had her on the corridor floor!!!!
No time to move anyone, or observe booking in procedures.
As well as making a Congratulations card from my Mum and Me, one of my many tasks before her birth was to make a card for Chloe to give to her Big Sister Emma.
I was given free rein over what I created, so I chose another cute Whippersnapper stamp from my collection, and did a bit of paper piecing.
I also tried out one of the fabulous Sue Wilson weaving dies to create the background.
'For my' was part of a Hero Arts sentiment, and 'Big Sister' was written with my favourite alphabet die which is also by Sue Wilson.
Of course the beauty of paper piecing is that you end up with plenty of left over images,
so I have several more cards to add to my stash.
I used a combination of Altenew sentiments
and paper pieced images,
as well as a piece of stamped background from my stash.
She may be only tiny, but Chloe had to participate in Halloween.
The hat was a bit on the big side, but the outfit was really cute.
And of course big sister had a great time, she went out to 'Trick or Treat' with the Twins.
The house looked amazing, and this year I even remembered to take a picture before it got too dark.
Now that Chloe has arrived I am hoping that I might get a little more back to normal with things, but at the moment I am struggling with a raging toothache which has necessitated antibiotics and massive amounts of painkillers so that seems like a very vain hope.
Still I have managed a post, so that's a start at least.
Have a great week, I will try and touch base again soon.
Happy Crafting and Hugs
