Countdown to Christmas - Day 9

Evening,

There was a really heavy frost when we got up this morning, it looked almost as if it had snowed. Let's hope we skip any of the real white stuff.

Here is a card with a die cut snowflake on it,
along with a sentiment banner.
The background has been created using alcohol inks, a favourite technique of mine.
Of course, I had to use up the left-over scrap of background, it was much too nice to waste.
So I added some more sentiment strips
and another snowflake, along with a gem for an extra bit of bling. All of this over an embossed background.
Thanks for stopping by.

Autumnal Hugs and Kisses

Evening All,

Wow, definitely more like Autumn today. I even had to put my cardigan on at work this morning, and that's something that I haven't had to do in several months.

So if it feels like Autumn, let's have some autumnal cards using my favourite stamp from Jane's latest Bubble stamp collection.

I filled a cream panel with stamped and embossed images which I coloured with Distress inks and then chopped up to create three cards.

I used various pieces of embossed card to embellish the cards along with sentiments and glossy accents.
It definitely warmed up this afternoon, so I wonder what we will get tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

Black and White

Evening All,

It's a good job that I have been taking Creative Expressions parcels to the local Post Office for years. I got there with my samples this afternoon, and when I went to pay I discovered that I had left my money at home. How nice to be trusted enough to go home and return with payment. He even told me to take my receipts with me!!

Having put the samples in the post, I am now on a mission to use up all the left over bits and pieces before I move on to anything else. The cards made with these pieces will be helpful when Jane takes these designs on to the TV. It means that I will actually be ahead of the game for once. That hasn't happened in a really long time :O)

One of my all time favourite classes is 'Black and White, so here are some cards that I made a while ago during one such class.
I love this old Magenta stamp, definitely one that I kept during my recent sort out.
These stamps were released by Magenta at the same time and create a very dramatic look. They stayed too lol.
This card uses a Tim Holtz die to create this lovely lacy corner.
I used the same die here, and added a fussy cut butterfly and sentiment.
White on white can look stunning. Another butterfly, this time with a hint of colour added to it.
I found various strips of embossed card stock for this card, and added a strip of black and some faux pearls.
I finally managed to download my photos from the weekend, so I have updated Sundays post (We've been Busy Bunnies)
I might even manage to finish something off tonight if I'm lucky. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy, Sparkly Monday

Evening,

I hope that you have had a happy, sparkly Monday.

Here is a sparkly card to brighten up your week.
I have used a piece of mop up background and a fabulous floral stamp from Designer Boutique which I coloured using a pearlescent watercolour palette.
I die cut the image and layered it over a piece of embossed card stock.
It's not looking very sparkly here at the moment, it's raining again, just by way of a change lol. I think that is my cue to get an early night.
Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Wishes for a Sister in Law

Evening Everyone,

What is it with scaffolders and the rules. I'm told that it is probably because of the type of job that they do. It makes them think that they are pretty much invincible and so they treat Covid restrictions with the same cavalier attitude. It really infuriates me.

By contrast whilst waiting for my train at London Bridge station on Saturday, during my 30 minute waiting time, with a constant stream of customers onto the platform, I only saw 3 people without masks!!! Perhaps it had something to do with the signs saying that people are liable to fines of £6,300, or maybe they just feel that following the rules helps us all get out of this quicker.

Sorry, now I've had my moan, on to the business of crafting :O)

I've had another last minute commission for my friends Sister in Law. Apparently she was so impressed by the card that I made for her husband that my friend ordered one for her too. How nice is that. What a compliment.
As usual with such a tight turnaround, I found a lovely LOTV image and some coordinating embossed paper from my stash.
I decoupaged the second image that prints out and added it using silicon.
I also added some die cut sentiments
and her name, stacked for added dimension.
Despite daily blog posts, which may be considered evidence to the contrary, I am really struggling at the moment. I seem to have so much to do, very little time to do it in and even less motivation to get any of it done. I'm going to give in to it tonight and go and watch Jennifer McGuire on Youtube. She always manages to inspire me so lets hope some of her crafty enthusiasm can get me motivated.
Thanks for sticking with me.

A little more Bump and Smudge (with a link)

Morning All
It's a rather dull and miserable one here, so perfect for shutting myself away in my craft room and playing.
I'm also trying really hard to keep on top of some blogging.
I just have sooooo many cards to share with you, so I'm trying to be a good girl.
These are some more of the cards that I finished off after my 'Bump and Smudge' class at SirStampalot last year,
I will pop in a link to where I saw the original idea HERE as I have had a couple of comments from friends asking how I have done the technique.
These lovely little stamps helped me use up some bits of embossed card stock.
Not that it has made much of a dent to my stash. I think that I need another sort out.
The Grandkids school and nursery usually benefit from that. The kids love all the little bits of card and paper for the craft corner, although I will of course check with Mum first before palming her off with a 'bag full of my old tat' as it has often been referred to.
Remember one mans tat is another mans treasure lol.
Have a fabulous day.
Happy Crafting and hugs

Thank you for sticking with me.

Hello Strangers,
Well how rubbish am I.
Just lately life seems to have taken over, and although I have managed to do a little on the creative front, anything computer related has been the last thing on my mind.
In fact it was only as I placed my card on the CCM&More blog ready for the launch of the latest challenge tomorrow, that I realised that I hadn't got around to blogging my card for the last challenge - Stitching real or faux.
See I said I was rubbish didn't I.
I chose this card for the challenge especially to say thank you to all my lovely Teamies for helping me out over the past few weeks. Well that worked didn't it lol.
The main panel has been created using an old Penny Black stamp and Distress inks.
I inked the stamp with the distress inks and then spritzed it with water before stamping it out several times.
I added some Faux Stitching, after all that was the challenge :O),
and layered it over some embossed pearlescent card.
Let's hope that I remember to blog my card tomorrow for the new challenge, and that you can find the time to visit.
Thanks for stopping by.

Who said Poppies had to be red?

Oh Dear, Why is it that the more you have to do the further behind you seem to get??
I am getting no where fast with my urgent and very important DT work, and now I have a couple of very special cards to make as well. I can see some very late nights in my future lol.
This card was made during my recent trip to Peterboro using one of my all time favourite Hobby Art stamps called Bordered Poppies.
I painted the stamped and embossed image using the 'Wet Watercolour Technique' and a Pearlex Palette, and then mounted it onto a piece of embossed card stock.
The background paper has been stamped with Versamark and then dusted with Pearlex Powders. The faux stitched border has been created using a Molly Blooms stamp.
No late night tonight, I'm nodding off.
