I'm Thinking of You and Sending Love and Hugs

Evening,

I've had far too many of this type of card to send this week.
To my Cousins on the Anniversary of their Fathers death,
and to my Mum and siblings on the 20th anniversary of my Dads passing.
It will be a particularly hard week for my Mum with both anniversaries within a couple of days of one another.

Then there is one for a close friend, and another for a work colleague. It's been a week of hard anniversaries.
My 3D embossing folders have become go-to equipment for this type of card.
It is very easy to create a card quickly, but one that still looks suitably impressive.

I have transformed a plain piece of cream cardstock by using a 3D embossing folder,

some inks, die cut sentiments and frames, along with a few well chosen sequins and gems.
I know that some of them have already arrived, on time for once I may add, as I have had a couple of text messages. I love being able to send a handmade card to brighten up somebodies day.
Thanks for stopping by.

Mop Up Background and Leaves

Evening All,

I hope that you have escaped all the flash flooding that seems to be happening all over the place at the moment. Emma was most concerned that I get home safely last night after the heavy rain and thunder that we had had during the day. Apparently there was flooding in London, although I didn't see any signs of it.

As you know I am on a mission to use up bits and pieces from my stash, so these Altenew stamped and die cut leaves were a happy find after my class on Distress Oxides a few weeks ago.
They match perfectly with this mop up background created with my Distress Oxide inks. I layered the panel onto a piece of embossed brown cardstock,
and then added a die cut sentiment, some assorted sequins and gems.
Thanks for stopping by.

Embellish it for Cute Card Thursday

Afternoon,

Time for a few Christmas cards I think. These ones have plenty of Embellishments on them, which is the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday where they are looking for you to EMBELLISH.

I used up some pieces of vellum from my Christmas stash.
They were all stamped and embossed with some Moonglow Embossing powders that were all the rage some years ago.
They give a lovely pearlescent finish to the stamping,
and the mica in them leaves a sheen on whatever you have stamped and embossed on to.
I used various die cut sentiments,
banners,
sequins and gems.
I tore the vellum to give a ragged edge and then mounted the panels onto some small square cards from my stash. I rather like the combination of vellum and kraft card, and a bit of bling never hurts.
Thanks for stopping by on this wet and miserable afternoon.

Stencils and Stamps

Evening All,

We tried to go for a walk this afternoon, despite the weather, but instead thrashed out the logistics of running classes after 17th May. How wonderful it will be to get to play in crafty company.

We are working on the class list at the moment, so in the meantime here are some cards that were made during one, pre-lockdown, using a fabulous stencil from Altenew.

Stencils are so fabulously versatile, they can be used in so many different ways, so here are just a few cards using a stencil, inks and a few stamps.
I attached the stencil to a piece of white card using my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion, which I love, and then blended the inks through it.
I also stamped all over the image with the stencil still in place. To finish off I used co-ordinating papers, gems and a stamped sentiment.
Same stencil and inking technique just darker colours this time.
Once again finished off with some gems and a stamped sentiment.
This final card uses the same techniques but with a monochrome look.
We had such fun with these as I recall that we have added it into the new schedule so that we can all have a refresher course.
I'd better go and narrow down a few more class ideas and get the list out to the Crafties. I'm getting excited to see them already, but first I have a weekend with the littlest Grandchildren to look forward to.
Thanks for stopping by.

Let it Snow.....no thanks

 Evening All,

What a cold and miserable day it has been today. Thankfully we haven't had any of the snow that my Sin-in-Law said that we were expecting. It's too wet for it to settle at least even if it did arrive.

I have decided that the easiest way for me to decide what cards to share with you, is to be guided by some of the challenges that I follow both through Facebook and individual blogs. So here we are with the first challenge of 2021 over at Christmas Card and Papercraft Challenges on Facebook

....................................Snowflakes - Multiple Colours......................................

As I only managed to write about a dozen cards before the virus got hold of me, I still have plenty more cards still to share with you, before they go in the drawer for next year.
This one was made using a lovely stamp set designed by Jane Gill JGS681 Let it Snow. I created a masterboard/one sheet wonder using the snowflake stamps from the set and various colours of Distress Inks.
Once I cut the panel up it gave me enough for two cards.
This card is made with some second generation stamping around the edges of the main card along with the lovely large sentiment from the set and a few sequins.
Same idea here,
just different snowflake stamps along with a script background stamp.
And finally a torn paper mask across the centre of this card.
Better get to bed, it's my last chance for a lie in tomorrow before I'm back to work at 'stupid o'clock'.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and hugs

Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge - Day 22 Clean and Simple

Morning Everyone,
Another day in the Creative Expressions 30 Day Challenge and today it is Clean and Simple.
Now I'm not sure about clean, but they are certainly simple. A 'smoosh' of ink and a sentiment for this one.
A piece of Mop up background for this card with the sentiment die cut out of the middle and raised up on craft foam.
A few no hole sequins add a little bit of bling.
Another piece of mop up background with a couple of die cuts and a sentiment.
They certainly don't get much simpler than this.
Hope you have a good day.
Stay safe.
