Purple Poppy

Evening,

After our lovely class yesterday I have been trying to finish off a few bits of homework.

This fabulous floral stencil was a favourite with all of the ladies on Saturday.
I created a piece of script background with an old stamp and then stenciled over the top using Distress inks.
With the stencil still in place, held there using my Wendy Vechi Make Art Stay-tion, I drew all around the image with a fine micron pen.
I added some soft stenciling to the base card using the same colours, and finished the whole thing off with a die cut sentiment covered in glossy accents, gems and hand made Card Candi.
This second card using the same colours of ink and leafy background stencil from Lavinia. The background started as a piece of clean up paper for the blending brushes. I have one brush per colour family and like to clean them off on a piece of paper before changing ink colours.
I held the white die cut LOVE under the stencil, on top of the clean up paper before adding more ink. I rather liked the contrast on the die cut so I decided to stack it and then add some glossy accents to help it stand out against the background panel.

Off to bed now since I am back at work at stupid o'clock tomorrow. Still at least it shouldn't be too hot tomorrow which will suit me very well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stenciled Happy Anniversary

Afternoon All,

What miserable weather we have had again today so we have been stuck indoors. Still, they have been very good playing with their Sylvanians. It is such fun to sit and listen to the three of them role playing with all these little creatures. They also helped me get some washing on and sort the dishwasher so they earned some Youtube.

I have managed to update the blog with a list of the first few class dates, so here are a couple more cards made using stencils.

Once again I used my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion to hold the stencil in place while I blended the ink through it onto the paper.
I then added a little sparkle with some glitter glue blended with a piece of Cut n Dry felt.
I layered the stenciled panel on to some dry embossed card stock.
Another lovely stencil and some blended inks.
Blending brushes, or stencil brushes are great for giving a lovely soft blended finish to the inks.
I die cut 'Happy Anniversary' from the stenciled panel and then stacked it onto several layers of black card stock before adding it back into the panel.
I finished it off with some clear sparkle pen and a layer of glossy accents.
Need to go and rest my arm now, and take a couple more pain killers. Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I hope that you are having better weather than us.

Stencils and Stamps

Evening All,

We tried to go for a walk this afternoon, despite the weather, but instead thrashed out the logistics of running classes after 17th May. How wonderful it will be to get to play in crafty company.

We are working on the class list at the moment, so in the meantime here are some cards that were made during one, pre-lockdown, using a fabulous stencil from Altenew.

Stencils are so fabulously versatile, they can be used in so many different ways, so here are just a few cards using a stencil, inks and a few stamps.
I attached the stencil to a piece of white card using my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion, which I love, and then blended the inks through it.
I also stamped all over the image with the stencil still in place. To finish off I used co-ordinating papers, gems and a stamped sentiment.
Same stencil and inking technique just darker colours this time.
Once again finished off with some gems and a stamped sentiment.
This final card uses the same techniques but with a monochrome look.
We had such fun with these as I recall that we have added it into the new schedule so that we can all have a refresher course.
I'd better go and narrow down a few more class ideas and get the list out to the Crafties. I'm getting excited to see them already, but first I have a weekend with the littlest Grandchildren to look forward to.
Thanks for stopping by.
