A sketch challenge for Woodware

Evening Everyone
This week at Woodware the Girls have been inspiring us following a sketch, so I felt that it was about time I joined in again.
In fact I actually got a little bit carried away and made two cards.

The first uses Jane's lovely December 25th stamp which works so well with the Wet Watercolour technique and the Pearlex Palettes.

I painted the embossed image using this technique and then cut it out and mounted it onto kraft card.

The panel on the right hand side has been dry embossed using a Dreamweaver stencil, and then with the stencil still in place I added Versamark ink and finally Frantage Embossing powder.

The second card uses the same stamped, embossed and coloured image this time mounted onto blue card stock.

The panel on the left hand side (I rotated the sketch) has been created by adding Versamark ink to an embossing folder before running it through my Cuttlebug.
Once dry embossed I added powdered Pearlex which sticks to the Versamark ink.

For the finishing touch I added some Glossy Accents to the berries.
This has to be one of my favourite of Jane's Christmas designs. I hope she likes what I have done with it.

1. Create a "Winter themed project (Non Christmas)."
2. Create a project using "Embossing (Dry or Heat). "
3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Winter Project using Embossing."

A new Baby Girl

Evening Everyone,
It's nearly Friday again, and I can see that I will be spending the weekend writing Christmas cards. I really can't put it off any longer.
As there will be no time for any crafting, I decided to make the most of my time tonight.
I have had to make another Baby Congrats card, there seem to be so many babies arriving on the scenes just lately.

I made this for a customer at the garage. She used to come in every day for her coffee, until she found out that she was expecting and put a stop to drinking caffeine.
I promised that I would treat her to a large cappuccino, her favourite drink. as soon as the baby was born and she brought it in to show us.
Her little girl arrived a few weeks ago but I finally got to meet her yesterday. I was true to my word and treated Mum to a very large drink lol.

The central image is a Lili of the Valley diecut which I have mounted onto a piece of pink background paper from my stash.
The kraft panel to the left hand side of the card has been stamped and embossed using several different baby sentiments.

I found the stork in a box of buttons that I bought years ago, and I also added some pearls.

I painted over the image with a Wink of Steller glitter brush and then added some white dots to her dress.

I would like to enter my card into the challenge at Addicted to stamps where I have followed their lovely sketch.

A Sketch for the Friday Mashup, if I'm not too late!

Evening Everyone
I decided that it has been far too long since I made a card to fit a challenge, so today I made one using the sketch at The Friday Mashup.

Of course now I am in danger of missing the deadline for the challenge, so this will be very quick.

 Here's your Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project using the above "Sketch."
2. Create a project using "Window/Transparency Sheets. "
3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "using the Sketch & Window Sheets."

I decided to go with just the sketch, I hope that my leaves will pass as substitutes for the flags lol.
Typically my photo programme has frozen so I will have to edit the pictures just as soon as I can.

Happy Birthday Boss.

Evening Everyone,
You would think that I would have learnt to schedule posts by now wouldn't you, but somehow I never seem to manage it and then time just runs away from me.
I have been out for our works Christmas party tonight, and as always it went on a lot longer than expected, which is why I should have written this earlier lol.
By coincidence it is the birthday of our manager Sega who also organized the party, and this is the card that I made for him.

The Penny Black branches have been stamped and embossed onto a piece of background paper using Sticky Embossing powder before Gold Leaf and Mica Powders were added.

I finished the card with a little dotty ribbon and a sentiment, and layered it onto background papers from my stash.

We were treated to fabulous Indian food this evening, and then Sega's daughters entertained us with some traditional singing. Their voices were amazing, and totally without instrumental backing.
I suspect that there will be quite a few serious hangovers tomorrow. I'm glad to say that I will not be one of them. Just as well given that I am at work at 6am. Better get to bed.

Winter Fun at the Crafty Cardmakers challenge

Evening All
Today sees the start of the last challenge of 2013 over at Crafty Cardmakers.
Our hostess, Marie, would like to see your interpretation of Winter Fun.
No Christmas cards/projects or New Year cards/projects, but some form of fun you might have during the Winter, for example, skiing, skating, sledding, building a snowman, snowballing.

For my card I chose an image from Lili of the Valley cut out and layered using Circular Nesties.
The background is a Stampendous Snowflake stamp CRR122 Cling Snowfall available from our sponsors SirStampalot, which I have stamped and embossed in white.

I added some Glossy Accents and Glitter Glue, as well as Faux Stitching.

The snowflake border has been cut from card that I have glittered using Diamond Sparkle Medium available from Imagination Crafts

The sentiment is also from an Imagination stamp set, and I added some Mica Powder to the snowflakes that I stamped over the embossed greeting.

A Woodware Leaf

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a nicely productive weekend. I certainly have.
I have spent my time tidying my desk, and finishing off a pile of cards that seem to have been staring at me for ages. They only needed the inserts but somehow that always seems so boring compared to actually making the card that it always gets left. Then you end up with a huge pile of them like now.
Of course now there is the really boring bit actually writing the wretched things, thank goodness Christmas only comes round once a year lol.

I thought that you might be getting a bit fed up with Christmas cards, so I chose one that I made for the Spring Woodware catalogue.
Of course if I don't start sharing a few more of my Christmas cards I won't get through them all, so I might just have to bore you with some of them tomorrow.

The background to this card was made using the Stylus tool which is a bit like a mini Magic stamp on a handle. It makes the most fabulous repetitive backgrounds, and is an old favourite of mine.
I have to be at work at 5am tomorrow, so I had better try and get to sleep, although at the moment I still feel wide awake. I knew I shouldn't have had that last cup of coffee!!

A little Christmas 4x4

Evening,
Just a quick post tonight as I hadn't realised how late it had got.

I made this card a while ago using a Magenta cling stamp set available from Woodware.

I stamped and embossed the images in red and then sponged them with Distress ink before cutting them out and mounting them onto the card.

I did a little decoupage with the central image and added some nailheads and brads.

Embossed Bargello

Evening All
Another Friday, boy are they coming round quickly.
I've been playing with my embossing folders again this evening after finding inspiration on Sue Wilson's blog.

She has a video clip showing how to do the Bargello technique using strips of embossed paper, so I thought that I would give it a try.

And if I do say so myself I think it looks fab.

She used plain white embossed strips on her card, but I just had to add some ink on the edges.

I was also reminded of Waxed Paper Embossing , a technique that I haven't played with in ages.
The central panel on this card was created using this technique.

Not wishing to waste anything I coloured the used waxed paper with Alcohol inks and then die cut some flowers from them using some of my Magnolia dies.

I added some extra flowers cut from white card as the waxed paper was a little fragile.
Of course I have another couple of panels to finish off as cards.
Why is it that I can never just make one piece when I'm playing, I always end up with loads of different bits and pieces. Oh well I guess that's why they call it playtime lol.

An old favourite

Evening Everyone,
How have you all been?
To be honest I have been soooo cold at work over the last couple of days that I have cuddled up with a blanket when I have come in from work and had a Granny nap. Lord knows what I will be like when we get all of this really bad weather that they keep telling us about lol.
I managed to get a little crafting done this evening. It's been raining here so maybe that has raised the temperature a little bit!!

I have been playing around with my embossing folders this evening in preparation for my class on Saturday.

This card uses a lovely folder for the background to the Multiple Resist panel created using one of my all time favourite Stampendous stamps.

I have sanded the card after it has been embossed and I have also added some tiny gems to the flower centres.

I have lots of other ideas that I want to try out before Saturday so I had better hope for more rain, and definitely no snow.

Cute Christmas Angels

Evening All
Just a couple of Christmas cards to share with you tonight.

They have been made using a couple of Christmassy Lili of the Valley toppers.

I cut, matte and layered them using circular Nesties and then added them to one of the background sheets that I made in a Quick and Easy Christmas card class a few weeks ago.

This one has a sentiment added

as well as punched and embossed snowflakes.
It is amazing the treasure that you find in your 'Bits Box' when you start to rummage lol.

A Birthday Butterfly

Evening Everyone,
I hadn't remembered just how many Birthday cards I need to send in December until I turned the page in my birthday planner a couple of days ago.
I suppose that could be considered vaguely organised of me, at least they are all written down.
With a huge drawer full of cards made I would hope that there will be something there that will fit the bill for most occasions at least.

I made this card quite a while ago using a fabulous Hobby Art stamp.
The image has been stamped and embossed on to brown Bazzil cardstock and then the image has been painted with thin undiluted bleach.

The bleach removes the dark brown colour and enables the bright Distress ink colours painted on afterwards to show up without the need for any cutting out or decoupage.
I also added some white crayon.

Penguins on Parade

Evening Everyone
I decided that tonight I deserved a treat, and a night off from crafting after my recent mammoth DT sessions.
With this in mind I decided to pop along to the pub my daughter works at to see her handiwork in place.

Those of you that follow my daily ramblings will remember the penguins that  my lovely and talented daughter made out of some coke bottles, chicken wire and plaster bandages.

 Well their ice flow is now finished and they great you in pride of place as you walk through the pub doors.

They look fantastic and I am told that lots of pictures have been taken of them.

These two are guarding some of the presents that wouldn't fit into Santa's sleigh,

which was also made by Becki.
So all in all I have had a lovely and relaxing evening and a very nice meal in to the bargain.
I'm going to take the Grandchildren back there next Friday as they will be having carol singing around the Christmas tree.
Lots of lovely Christmas songs and plenty of chocolate sweeties as well. What more could you want.

There's a mouse in the house.

Evening All
I have finally finished all of the DT cards that I have been working on over that last couple of weeks. A quick trip to the post office tomorrow after work and they will be someone else's problem.

 My card tonight was made a little while ago using one of the Stampendous House Mouse stamps.

The coloured image has been mounted on to one of the Base-it's cards supplied by Woodware.

I used a couple of Dreamweaver stencils and a stamp to add some extra background.

I also added some Frantage powder and punched snowflakes.
I suppose I ought to start writing some of these Christmas cards instead of just making them lol.
