Punched Christmas at Woodware

Morning All
It's my turn on the Woodware blog again today, and this week Dorothy is looking for Christmas cards made using Punches and Dies

I have been staying at SirStampalot this last week and so I had to make my card with things that I could find in Janice's workshop. I had enough of forward planning last week lol.

I gathered together several crafty items,

and decided to create my own embossing folder using the Holly Leaf Punch. 

This is a fantastic way to get additional use from your punches, I used  2 layers of punched shapes stuck down on some thick card.

I embossed the leaves through a machine with a rubber mat, the way that you would with a stencil.  

 I then inked and stamped over the top to highlight them.

The foliage and main sentiment comes from Jane’s Clear Magic stamp set Deck the Halls. The Happy Christmas  greeting in the background comes from Jane’s set Holly Tree. 

 I also punched the leaves from some green card stock and shaped them before adding them to the card. The berries are red brads, and off course there is a liberal brushing with gilding wax.

The card that I sent Dorothy was actually made from the left overs of my original project, made using all the same elements except the berries made using liquid pearls. . 

I decided that I liked the leftover card better. What do you think?
Back to playtime now, and I think I have a parcel of crafting goodies being delivered here today so that is definitely something to look forward to. Thank You Dorothy.

There's a mouse in the house.

Evening All
I have finally finished all of the DT cards that I have been working on over that last couple of weeks. A quick trip to the post office tomorrow after work and they will be someone else's problem.

 My card tonight was made a little while ago using one of the Stampendous House Mouse stamps.

The coloured image has been mounted on to one of the Base-it's cards supplied by Woodware.

I used a couple of Dreamweaver stencils and a stamp to add some extra background.

I also added some Frantage powder and punched snowflakes.
I suppose I ought to start writing some of these Christmas cards instead of just making them lol.

Make Each Moment an Occasion

Evening All
What sort of a day have you had?
How often have you thought about those old rhymes that you learnt in childhood, and how often did they prove to be true?
There was a magnificent red sky this morning, and in the words of the rhyme 'Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning'.
It certainly came true, as it has been pouring with rain for most of the day.
I spent the afternoon shopping with the lovely Jane Gill, and I am now the proud owner of a pair of Pink and Grey Nike trainer and some special socks. Now all I need is some energy so that I can get walking and use them lol.

We had a cup of tea and a scone after our shopping trip, and I also got a sneak peek of Jane's new designs. I can't wait to get my hands on them as they are all just fantastic.

This is one of several cards that I have made for Woodware using Jane's stamp designs.
I actually punched squares from several different stamped images to create this particular card.
No walking tonight as my feet are still recovering from yesterdays little jaunt and my shopping trip today but maybe I will make a start tomorrow. After all I do have to start somewhere, and soon, or May will be here and I will be nowhere near ready to walk 20 yards let alone 20 miles lol.

Congratulations on your Engagement

Evening All
I hope that you have all been enjoying your Sunday.
I have had a fabulously creative day, just as I promised myself.
One of the guys at work has just got engaged, so as well as working on  the Valentines card that he asked me make, I also made a Congratulations on your Engagement card for him and his Fiance.

Of course when time is of the essence I reach for my Lili of the Valley die cuts and my box of background papers, I do love these images.

I used Nestie Labels 22 to cut out the image and then added some Antique Linen distress ink around the edge while the die was still in place. I also added some Faux stitching using a pokey tool and fine black pen.

The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley, cut out with a circular punch and with a few tiny dots added with my black pen.

The flowers and leaves are DooHickeys cut from some of the leftover background paper with a Card Candi at the centre.
Oh boy, just remembered I need to iron my uniform before the morning, better go.

Some very English Leaves

Evening Everyone
I can't believe that it is Sunday evening again, where did last week go to?
I hope that you have had a good weekend.
I have managed to get quite a few things done, but as usual it has got too late to get any decent photos, so I thought that I would share a card that I made for the new Woodware catalogue instead.

I had such a great time back before Christmas playing....I mean working with all of Jane's fabulous new designs.
This is one of her fantastic background stamps JGS303 Tree Names which I stamped and embossed in black and then sponged dye based inks over the top of the image.

I also added some stamped leaves using another stamp set JGCL566 English Leaves. they are both such useful stamps I think you will agree. Fantastic for men's cards.

I used some of the Woodware Ribbed Kraft card as a background with plenty of stamped and embossed leaves. I also punched some out using the small Woodware Maple Leaf punch.
I know that the catalogue is at the printers as we speak and should be available very soon, as are the stamps.
Must get to bed now, another working week awaits.

Good Luck with the Woodware Challenge

Hi,
It's me again, back for the new challenge over at Woodware, where I am lucky enough to be the Guest Designer for the month of March.
The challenge this week is Good Luck, and I have found it to be a tricky one. For starters I hadn't realised just how few Good Luck stamps there seem to be available.
I asked several Crafty Friends what they thought of as being suitable for a Good Luck card and the list was fairly small - 4 leaf clover, Leprechauns and Black cats.
I did consider an Oriental card with a Good Luck symbol on it, but then finally decided on some black cats. It's amazing what you come across when you are actually looking for something else lol.

The main image on this card is an old Magenta stamp 23.293J Double Cat Squares. I stamped it out 3 times and have then done a little bit of decoupage. 

I also added a couple of metallic swirly clips and some stitching.

The square panels have been painted using Gelly Roll glaze pen. Scribble it onto your craft mat and then pick it up with a waterbrush and use it just like paint. Thank you Francoise for that little tip.
Each of the four small coloured squares have been cut out and embossed from the back on a foam mat using a large ball tool.

I stamped the cats onto black card and then cut them out. The squares have been added to the main panel using silicon glue to add a little depth. The black cats have been added on top of this, again using silicon.
Tip to self - make sure the silicon is dry from adding the squares, before trying to attach the cats :)

I have added some stitching and then mounted the square onto black glossy, and then blue card stock.
The green background panel has been made from a piece of paper from my stash which has been stamped and embossed using Good Luck from FRCL080 Mixed Greetings and the paw print from FRCL124 Groovy Cats. Both of these sets are made by Woodware.

This is not a very good picture of the items that I have used, but I thought it might make it easier for you to know what to look for.
I had so much fun making this that I got a little carried away and made a second card :)

This uses another old Magenta cat stamp 23.395K. I have created a background panel by stamping and embossing the image repeatedly onto white card stock. I added the same small Good Luck stamp that I used on the previous card into the gaps.

I have sponged Weathered Wood and Black Soot distress inks around the edges of this panel and then tapped a black versafine pad along the edge before embossing them with clear embossing powder. 

Once again I have painted the squares using Gelly Roll glaze pen.
Good Luck is from FRCL080 Mixed Greetings and I have used a small circle punch to add the cats heads to the panel.

I really should have got these made earlier this week as I needed one of them for my youngest daughter Becki. She took her 1st semester, 2nd Year Nursing exam on Friday.
Fortunately she passed so she didn't need any help from my black cats after all lol.

Frosty the Snowman

Evening Everyone,
I've spent another day making cards for the TV. Everything I'm working on is geared towards Christmas at the moment so it seems logical to share a card that I made a while ago using the Frosty the Snowman stamp set from Hobby Art.

I have stamped and embossed Frosty 3 times and coloured him using Distress inks. The background has been stamped with gold brilliance and versamark using a couple of the other stamps from the set.

I have added punched snowflakes and some buttons. I love the greeting from the set, it says it all doesn't it.
