Good Luck and Love in All that You Do

Evening Everyone,
We are in full blown exam mode in our house. GCSEs, or what ever it is that they call them these days.
Megan seems to be coping with them reasonably well at the moment although I believe there was a bit of a meltdown moment when there was confusion over exam rooms and seat numbers. Six of them all had the same number!!!
Hopefully today's exam has been a little less stressful.
It is a little bit late, what's new I hear you say, but here is the card that I made Megan to wish her luck and love in all that she does, namely said exams.
The background has been created using Imagination Silkies and a stencil.
Some of the colour was removed using a baby wipe whilst the stencil was still in place and then Sparkle Medium was burnished over the top using a piece of cut and dry felt.
The main stamped image is one of my favourite Woodware stamps at the moment,
and the sentiment is from LOTV.
I think we are exam free for a few days at least, so lets hope that the stress levels recede a little.
Bye for now.

Tidy.........................for a moment!

Morning All
I thought that I would blog early today before it got too hot, I hear we are in for a scorcher.
I also thought that I would show you that I do sometime tidy my desk.
It usually happens when I have finished one set of cards, or classes, but then it doesn't take long for it to get back to normal lol.
The reason for all this latest organised chaos is a card for Ethan, my Grandson's best friend.
I am trying to be really good and use bits from my box, or should that be boxes :), that need finishing. So this Magnolia bird fitted the bill perfectly so to speak. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!
It's amazing what you find when you start rummaging. The Magenta panel that the bird is sitting on was in the box as well.
I wrapped some wire around a wooden skewer to make a branch, and added punched leaves and some tiny flowers - not hand made this time.
I did have to get some new stamping in there so I used another of my Magnolia stamps on the background paper. They have been coloured with a mixture of distress inks and Silkies.
Hope you like it.
I'm off for a very cool shower now before I get on with some more cards. Well I did say the table only stays tidy for a very short while didn't I he he.
Have a great day.
Happy Stamping.
Love and hugs

Thanks Ma

Hi Everyone.
Sorry I've been a bad blogger lately but I just haven't been able to find my mojo.
I hope you missed me.
I'm pleased to know that there is at least one person who follows my blog and noticed my absence - aren't Mums wonderful lol.
I got a lovely text message from mine this morning asking if I was OK as I hadn't blogged in four days, so this is for you Ma.
The flower stamp is by Unity Stamps, the greeting from Hobby Art, and the background is made with the ivory Silkies (from Imaginations) and distress inks.
Have a good evening - what's left of it.
Love and hugs

Penny Black Poppy

Evening Everyone, thanks for stopping by.
Hasn't it been a wonderfully sunny day. I obviously picked the right one to take off from my real job to teach a class on making roses.
The ladies all seemed to have a great time, and the colour combinations were just stunning. Isn't it amazing just how different our colour choices can be. I always tend to stick to 'safe' colour combos when prepping a class and it is always great when people choose something completely different to what I have chosen.
The card I am sharing tonight is made with what has to be my favourite Penny Black stamp at the moment. I feel in love with it even before I saw some of the stunning cards that Brenda has made with it. (http://stamping-fantasies.blogspot.com/)
The background on which the image has been stamped has been created using pearl Silkies and bundled sage and wild honey distress inks. This has co-ordinated beautifully with papers from my stash.
I am actually sending this card to the Girls at Butterfly Kisses - I promised it to them at Ally Pally so I had better get it in the post asap. Besides I am back at work tomorrow so I need to get some sleep. Sorry about the picture quality, I think I really do need to invest in a better camera, the card looks so much better than the pictures make out.
Nite nite and thanks for looking in.

I'm off to Ally Pally........

Well girls, here we are at the end of yet another week, and another lovely sunny day. Just where is this year disappearing to?This weekend I am off to Ally Pally, which has to be one of my favourite shows. It's not too huge but is full of lots of wonderfully inspirational people.
I will be helping Sue and Harvey on the Imagination stand so don't forget to stop by and say hello.
I made these two cards using some of the Imagination products and had meant to post them, but I guess I will just have to hand deliver them instead.
They both use Imagination stamps heat embossed with white powder. I have then blended several colours of the silkies over the top using some cut and dry foam.
The punched panel on this card has been stamped with versamark and then brushed with mica powders. The tiny gold dots are waste from a peel off border.
This card uses the same technique as the first one but with just one layer of white stamping.
I'm hoping to pick up some more colours, and of course some new stamps. Well I can't come home empty handed can I lol.
Hope to see some of you there.
Love Kimx
