A Bunch of Blue Tulips

Evening Everyone,
I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of my all too brief holiday at SirStampalot. I must admit that I have had to cut it short this time, but even so it only seems like yesterday when I was being collected from the station.
As usual I have had a wonderful time, and have managed to create quite a few cards for the shop so I hope that I have been of some use.

My share tonight is one such card. It has been made from a piece of background paper created with acrylic paints and the Gelli Plate.

I stamped and embossed Art Impressions Tulip Bunch onto the handmade background paper and then ran it through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder, having first coloured the tulips with Copic Markers.

The leafy border at the side of the panel uses Sizzix Decorative Accent and Leaves die cut from Dotty Swiss Bazill card stock. I love being able to match things up with papers from the shop even if it does add to my STABLE (see blog post HERE).
The sentiment is from Stampendous Birthday Wish Assortment clear stamp set stamped and embossed using Distress inks and clear embossing powder.
The pre-printed background papers are all from the shop, and the stripy one has been dry embossed using Sizzix Starry Night Embossing Folder.

The corners of the card have been embellished using the Martha Stewart Photo Corner Punch and also a little stamping using Art Impressions Serpentine Background.
I had hoped that my suitcase would be a little lighter going home as I am leaving 4 boxes of cards with them to photograph for their gallery. However seeing the size of the box under my table full of crafty stash I think that that may be a vain hope lol.

Rose Trellis and the Creative Palette

Evening Everyone,
Another weekend seems to have flown by.
I didn't get much playing done as I have spent a very enjoyable day with my best friend from Whyteleafe who moved to Gosberton at the end of last year.
It is the first time that I have been to her new place since she moved, and it is fabulous. So spacious compared to her little house in Surrey.
She cooked me a wonderful Sunday lunch and we were able to chat while she was preparing it, with me and her hubby at the table instead of perched in the doorway of the tiny kitchen because you couldn't get two people in there at the same time lol.

I did managed to get a couple of bits done when I got back to the unit, including this card made from one of the smaller pieces of art work that I shared with you last night.

The main image, P2596 Art Impressions Rose Trellis was stamped and embossed onto a piece of background paper created using the Stampendous Creative Palette, Acrylic Paints and Distress Inks.

I coloured the roses using Copic Markers and then added some White Pen to the trellis.

The lovely white decorative border has been added using one of the stamps from CRS5063 Moray Dahlia a lovely new stamp set from Stampendous.
Finishing touches have been added with a bow made from seam binding, some nailheads, a button and tiny butterflies punched using the Martha Stewart 3 in 1 Classic Butterfly punch.
We did get a little bit of a lie in this morning as it is Sunday, but I shall be waking Janice and Andy up early again tomorrow, I have playing to catch up with lol.

A Christmas Teddy

Hi All
I seem to have just about caught up with the tiredness that has overtaken me this week, which is just as well cause I get to do it all again tomorrow when Jane and I travel up to Skipton.
I have prepped the rest of my class packs, so I just have to pack my case and write a few scheduled posts for while I’m away, if the Internet will let me, this post has taken several hours to finish !!
I though that tonight I would remind you that you still have a couple of days left to enter our Snow and Ice challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

I made this card a little while ago using some background papers from my stash to create the Bargello panel at the back of the card.

I also used several different dies for the flowers and trees, and plenty of glitter glue for snow and ice.

The Teddy is a lovely Lili of the Valley topper, also from my stash, and the whole thing has been mounted onto a panel with snowflakes 'Punched Around the Page' courtesy of Martha Stewart.

The blues and browns matched the coloured image perfectly and made it a little different from the usual Christmas colours.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges, I haven't done that for ages lol.

Fun in the Sun at Crafty Cardmakers

Hi All

Today sees the start of another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers where our host Lin has chosen the theme Fun in The Sun. She would like to see something relating to Summer fun, so that might be holiday related, or something in the garden, basically something you might do outdoors when the sun is shining that's fun, clean and legal!!

I was lucky enough to be able to play with the same stamps for my card as Janice has kindly provided for the prize, and here is what I came up with.

The background to the card has been created using a Magnolia Seaside background which I have stamped and embossed onto watercolour card and then coloured with Distress Inks.

I mounted this panel onto a piece of white paper that has been embellished with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page.

The little boy is a Molly Blooms image

as are the Sunglasses

and the Ice cream.

The Banner is from a Woodware stamp set, and I used a very old alphabet set to write the sentiment.

I also added some glitter glue to the shore line and clouds.

Remember Barbara is back on the Box

Evening,
Wow am I ever glad that it is Friday!!
Did you get thunder and a major downpour this morning? It was actually quite nice to go outside in it (I had to help bring in the delivery which of course arrived at the same time as the rain) until you have to stand at the till in a soggy shirt. Don't worry I didn't look like an entrant for a wet T shirt contest, well not quite anyway lol.

Just a quick reminder tonight that Barbara will be back on the box at the weekend.
This card was one of several that I made for her last month. Unfortunately things have conspired against me this month (work, a headache and the Post Office mainly!!!!) so I didn't manage to get anything done for her. I hope that she will forgive me.

 I stamped and embossed the solid image of the Carol Singers, and cut them out using my Nesties.

The papers are from my stash and the Snowflake punch is a Martha Stewart punch around the page design.
I have a bit of tidying up to do tomorrow as the family are due back from their holiday and they will need to be able to get into the living room so I guess that I had better get to bed.

Happy Father's Day

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a wonderful Father's Day. Have you been waiting on him hand and foot, just as he is supposed to do for Mother's Day?
I have spent another day chained to my desk but the Grandkids have been making sure that their Dad is looked after with a cooked 'Brunch' and plenty of cups of tea and coffee.
We also had a lovely Sunday Roast dinner, which is always a favourite with everyone.
As my own Dad is sadly no longer with us I had no need to make a Father's Day card so I thought instead that I would share this card that I made for a friend to give her Dad on his birthday last month.

Her Dad had been in the Navy for most of his adult life so she wanted something with a Nautical theme.
I had very little in the way of stamps for this so I just had to have a little bit of a spend up with Woodware.

The greeting on the map is what Vicky asked me to put on the card, it is what they call her Dad.

The ship has been coloured using Distress Inks and then the sails have been painted with thin undiluted bleach.

I used Frantage powder on some of the background images as well as Sticky Embossing Powder and Copper Leafing.
The base to the card uses one of my favourite Punch Around the Page punches which is great for Men's cards.

A little bit of sunshine

Evening Everyone,
And what a chilly one it is too. There has definitely been no sign of any sunshine peeping through the clouds, just a grey and dull sky.

Maybe my card tonight will cheer things up a little bit. I have used the sketch over at Mojo Monday and the colour combo at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I’m not sure how Clean and Simple my card could be considered, but I did like the colour combo, it is nice to be encouraged to work with something different.

I have cut circles from white card using Circular Nesties and then sprayed them with Goosebumps Texture spray, before sponging them with Distress Inks Scattered Straw and Antique Linen.
The stamping around the edge of the white card has been done using the same colours of ink and Hero Arts F5042 Leaf Flourish.

The flowers from Jane Gill's JGCL572 Daisy Layers set have been stamped and embossed onto background papers from the Kaiser Kraft Lush Collection available from SirStampalot. They came to me in my challenge box a little while ago, so it is nice to have found a use for them.
The flower centres are punched using the smallest Woodware Circle Punch, and the leaves are a Martha Stewart Punch, as is the border across the centre of the card.

I added a Faux Stitched border and some Card Candi.
I hope that I am in time for the Mojo Monday challenge as our Internet has been offline all afternoon for some unknown reason.
Lets hope that tomorrow is warmer day, at least I haven’t had to venture outside today, which will not be the case tomorrow as I am back at work.

Daisy Layers

Evening Everyone
I hope you have had a wonderful and relaxing weekend, I can't believe how quickly it has finished,
I have been a very busy bunny with some DT work and class prep for next weekend, but I did notice that I won the Western challenge over at Here Come the Boys, how cool is that!!

I was playing around with this lovely floral stamp set (JGCL572 Daisy Layers) from Woodware for another project, and decided that I was having way too much fun with it to make only one card.

I even embellished the envelope with some of the extra flowers.

I stamped and embossed all sizes of flower onto some double sided background paper, and then fussy cut them out.

The background panel to the card has been created using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page, some Goosebumps Texture Spray and Distress inks.

The greeting that I have used as a stem comes from another clear stamp set.

The petals on the central flowers have been 'rolled' before they have been added to the card using silicon glue.
I can see me making a few more of these cards, they are a great way to use up some of those leftover pieces of background paper.
Better get to bed now, I still have to work even if the kids will get a lie in tomorrow as it is half term.

A Touch of Romance

Evening Everyone,
Wow, another late post, so much for getting my blogging done before I play!
I seem to be going through a 'Brown and Cute' phase at the moment.
One of the Guys at work asked me to make him a Valentines card for his Fiance, and so this was one of the ones I made for him to choose from.

Nothing screams Romance to me at the moment like the cute images from Lili of the Valley. And of course a few pearls and a swirl.

 As they arrive already coloured in all I have to do is match them to papers from my stash.

In this case I used some of the new papers that I bought from Lili of the Valley. They are from the Nitwit Collection and of course they are designed to match the coloured images perfectly, as if I need any more papers lol.

The flowers are made using DooHickey dies and I used my Nesties and a Punch Around the Page punch from Martha Stewart.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges.

Retro Romance

Evening Everyone
What's it like in your neck of the woods?
It's bitterly cold here, and although we haven't had any of the white stuff so far I'm not sure that we have escaped totally unscathed. Still it is only February so we shouldn't be surprised by cold weather but somehow we always are. Maybe it has something to do with the heatwave we had in March last year lol.
What it has meant is that all I have felt like doing is curling up with a nice cuppa and a hot water bottle, oh what a glamorous life us Grannies lead :O)
As I haven't done anything remotely crafty today I'm afraid that I will have to share another of the cards that I made for my last class at Davina's.

The class was aimed at making cards suitable for a Valentine, Wedding or Anniversary and used a wonderful Heart stamp by Magenta 37,257Q Retro Romance.

It is a fabulous stamp which stamps and embosses beautifully and best of all can be split into separate panels making it incredibly versatile.
The flower vase would even work well for a simple birthday card.

We also played with one of my Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page designs, a much neglected piece of my crafting equipment.

Of course no romantic card would be complete without a few pearls and some flowers.
Time to refill my hot water bottle I think and cuddle down for the night.

I'm nearly too late to the challenge

Evening Everyone
Long time no blog. I hope that you are all well.
I'm sorry that I have been missing for a while but pills and me don't mix. I would make an absolutely rubbish junkie lol.
I am suffering badly with my Sciatica and have gone from taking no pills at all to rattling!! As a consequence I am finding it hard to sit for any length of time and when I do I hope you will understand that making a card takes priority over blogging about one.
So please forgive me if I haven't stopped by to see you lately, and if I haven't left you a comment when you have entered the challenges that I am on the DT for, I aim to do better starting now, but please don't hold me to it :O)
I can't believe how late I am with this card, and it has taken me all day to write the post itself.
The challenge at The Stampman is nearly finished for this month, but don't forget to stop back again on Thursday for the start of a new one.

This is the card that I made for the current challenge where we were looking for Butterflies, Birds and Bees.
I used the Stampendous Cling Bird Frame CRP126 for the main image and Artemio Manuscript Background clear set 10001048 on the background paper.

The central panel has been sponged with Distress ink pads - Scattered Straw and Iced Spruce, and the musical score was stamped using Pumice Stone.

The background papers are all from Woodware and were also used to create the flowers using punches.

I added a strip of background paper across the middle of the card which has been punched using a Martha Stewart border punch. I also added some gingham ribbon and pearls.

The birds have been painted with thin undiluted bleach to remove some of the colour and then I added a little stardust pen to highlight.
I had better post this now before another day goes past and the new challenge starts.
I also need to take some more pain killers so I will probably start to talk gibberish lol.

We've had a bit of a laugh at work today giving the Area Manager some much needed till training. I think she secretly quite enjoyed it even if she looked totally petrified most of the time :O)

My card tonight has combined two challenges
Sketch Saturday week 227 and
Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge - All Wrapped Up.

Once again I have used one of the lovely Lili of the Valley die cuts and some circular Nesties.
The background has been made from squares of background paper from my stash.

I added a Hobby Art sentiment and a Martha Stewart punched Snowflake.

Of course no Christmas card is complete without a bit of bling, and so I just had to add some glitter glue and Stardust pen.
