For a Special Birthday

Evening Everyone,

Here are another couple of my commissions from last weeks playtime.

I have a friend who likes me to make cards for her, but has a knack of leaving it till the last minute to ask!!!
So once again with time pressing I reached for my trusty LOTV Simply Print images.
My friend asked me to make a 70th birthday card for her husband and his twin brother.
I decided that they could be excused for relaxing on their birthday so these images seemed very appropriate.
I rather liked this sentiment too.
I have some very useful dies that contain just about any relationship that you would need and also a new Lisa Horton stamp and banner die set which is also very useful.
I used the second image on the sheet for this card for my stash.
I printed out a couple of different images before making my final choices for the cards so I finished these off to add to my stash.
This is one of the newer LOTV images teamed with a Jane Gill sentiment.
This card was made using a die cut topper that I found in my stash and personalized with a gold peel-off number.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.

Papercuts Jasmine and Mop Up

Evening,

A couple of cards tonight created using the Jasmine Papercuts Edger die.

I die cut Jasmine in both black and white card and then layered them on top of one another to create a slight drop shadow.
The inky background that the die cut is layered onto is a piece of mop up background from my stash.
I spritzed the main blue card with the Rose Pearl Airless Mister to add some shimmer.
This card was created using many of the same elements as the first card only this time I die cut the Jasmine from the mop up background card and then layered it on to black.
I added some faux stitching, some tiny gems and a sentiment.
I do hope that the weather starts to warm up if we are going to have to continue to meet up outside. I went for a walk this afternoon and then dropped in on Davina for a coffee, sat outside in the garden of course. It was lovely to catch up, but we were shivering by the time we had finished lol.
Thanks for stopping by, it's nearly the weekend thank goodness.
Stay safe and hugs

Paper Panda Meadow Frame Die

Evening Everyone,

I finally got to see my lovely Mum today after what seems like forever. I have managed to see her through the window a couple of times, but it's just not the same. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind so we had to sit with the doors wide open and our masks on but that didn't matter I got to see her. I took her a goody bag of her favourite bits and pieces so that she can indulge herself with my love. She had a little M&S apple crumble for her pudding tonight and has her eyes on the rice pudding next. I know how to treat a girl lol.

Mum's garden is a little wild in places, although my brother has made a start on taming some of it, so I thought that this card was a perfect post for today.
It has been created using the fabulous Paper Panda Meadow Frame die CEDPP024.
The background panel has been stamped with a white pigment ink pad and JGS760 Lily Sketch, and then sponged with Cosmic Shimmer Colour Clouds inks Bright Sunshine, Tangy Tangerine and Purple Paradise. The white ink acts as a resist allowing the stamped images to show through.
I stamped over the top of this panel with the same stamp and white ink before adding the Meadow Frame die cut from white card stock.
I added matts and layers to the panel and a sentiment strip.
Thanks for stopping by.

Orchids in Bloom

Evening All,

Back to the gym at last, although having done next to nothing for several months we are taking it very slowly. My gym buddy was involved in a car accident a couple of weeks ago, just as everything was starting to open up, so I have stayed away in solidarity with her ........................ well that's my excuse anyway. It was nice to go for a walk on the treadmill regardless of the weather, and be able to stop when my foot had had enough without having to push too hard so that I can get home.

It's been nice and sunny again today, albeit rather chilly in the shade, so here are a couple of bright cards made using a Designer Boutique stamp UMSDB046 Orchids in Bloom.

I stamped and embossed the image in black for this card,
and then coloured it using Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour inks and Pale Olive Pixie powder.
I tore round the panel and added some twine and a sentiment.
For this second card I stamped and embossed the image in white before colouring it, including the background.
I used the same embossing folder with co-ordinating cardstock for both cards.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Farrah

Evening All,

I was a good girl at the dentist this afternoon. No remedial work, nice clean teeth and a fairly large dent in my bank balance. Not too bad given that it is probably 18 months since I have been able to get an appointment. And then it didn't rain on the way home, so all in all a successful day.

One of my jobs at the weekend was to make a card for Emma to give her best friend Farrah for her birthday.
We were going to get it made when I was there last weekend, but time just ran away with us so I promised that I would make it and pop it in the post.
Emma chose the LOTV image and then the background paper from a selection that I offered her. The only other instructions to me were that it have her name and age on it. I made sure I got it right, although I did feel very old when I asked Becki how to spell Farrah asking if it was like Farrah Fawcett and she had no idea who I was talking about!!!!!!
The LOTV Simply print image prints out with two to a page, so I let Chloe pick the background paper to this card which will remain in my box for use at a later date.

I die cut the birthday greetings into the background paper and then layered it onto blue cardstock.

The sentiment strips are from a set of matching banner stamps and dies by Lisa Horton that I recently purchased. It is such a clever idea. Stamp the set once and then die cut the whole thing once and you have a host of sentiments ready to go.

Time for an early night I think the walk home has worn me out. I keep yawning and nearly nodding off so I think that I will give in to it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp and Emboss

Evening All

Well that was another successful day, and another couple of things crossed off my 'To Do' list, and a few extra cards finished as well.

As they are still in the process of drying (glossy accents, glitter glue and silicon) I will share another couple of cards that I made on a previous ocassion.

I found this panel in my bits box made using a lovely stamp with a matching embossing folder that I bought many years ago at SirStampalot.
I stamped and coloured the image and then ran it through the matching embossing folder and finally  finished it off with a die cut sentiment.
This card was made using the same set only this time I used a piece of handmade background paper from my stash.
I painted the flowers with white pearlescent paint and added some white hightlights to the swirls.
Once again I added a die cut sentiment which I stacked and covered in glossy accents for added dimension.
Back to the grind tomorrow, and then the dentist in the afternoon. Another little bit of normality creeping back into my life. I know I'm probably considered rather weird, but I look forward to seeing the hygienist at my appointment, and then I have a nice long walk to get home so lets hope that there isn't rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Bubbles

Evening All,

Well that is one job crossed off my to do list, and it's one of those really boring ones too. Putting inserts into cards and matching up with envelopes. It's a job that I keep putting off, but one that is very satisfying when it is finished and I have added nearly 80 cards to my drawer!!!

One of those added to the drawer is this one created using a fabulous Designer Boutique stamp UMSDB044 Floral Bubbles.
I felt it looked perfect for a bit of decoupage.
And I thought that this embossing folder gave the feel of being under the water.
This card didn't make it into the drawer because it was the sample that I sent to Creative Expressions for the launch of the Designer Boutique stamps in February.
I decided to mirror the bubbles in the embossing folder for this card.
Once again I used the Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Watercolour palettes to colour the image and cut it out using stitched circle dies.
I finished the card off with a die cut sentiment covered in glossy accents.
Better get some sleep so that I can tackle another couple of the items on my list tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

Alcohol Inks

Evening,

It's Friday. I can't believe how quickly the weeks are rolling by. The only good thing with that is that we are getting nearer to being able to have a class.

My cards today were made for what turned out to be one of the last classes before lockdown in 2020. We were playing with alcohol inks which I'm sure will be amongst some of the first things that we play with as soon as we can get back to normal.

The background to the first two stamps was created on glossy card stock that was then clear embossed with a floral image.
The flowers didn't show up as I wanted, so I just added more alcohol ink and blended it over the top of them. I love the really deep rich panel that has resulted.
I chopped the panel up to create both cards and teamed them with some metallic paper for a very fine metallic border. Because the panel itself is so dark I added it to a white die cut panel with script stamped on it.
A couple of die cut skeleton leaves and some gems complete this card which I hope will cheer up anyone feeling under the weather.
The second half of the panel I teamed with another die cut leaf and a white card.
To give the white card base a little more interest I added a white embossed panel and a sentiment strip.
The final card was once more made using a piece of alcohol inked background.
Once again I used some die cut leaves and an embossed panel to embellish the card
along with some string, ribbon, gems and sentiment.
I have a long list to try and get through for the weekend, what about you? Any crafty projects?
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great couple of days. The weather forecast is looking reasonably good so maybe you have some gardening to do.
What ever you are up to stay safe.
