Boxed Leaves

Afternoon Everyone,
Well, that wasn't a very good start to the day................I overslept.
I can't remember the last time I did that. Still, only 15 minutes from looking at my watch and leaping out of bed to rushing through the doors at work, not bad for a Girl lol.
That's the only problem with my new phone aka my alarm clock, if the battery dies then so does the wake up call!!

Of course being tired might have something to do with staying up to finish these cards.

I had several stamped images left over from playtime at SirStampalot last year, so I decided to finish them off yesterday evening.

The leafy embossed background to this first card was also in my bits box, and I coloured it to match the stamped panels.

The background to the stamped image on this card was created 'mopping up' leftover ink on my craft sheet.

The background panel that the boxed leaves have been mounted onto was created using my trusty Gelli Plate, dyebased inks, bubble wrap and an assortment of stamps.
One stamp, three very different card ideas.
I had better go and make sure that my phone is fully charged, I don't think my Boss would be quite so understanding if I were late a second time.

Mini Blueprint Leaves

Afternoon,
Are you having a good Monday?
I have been a good girl and finally got back to the gym. Thank goodness for a friend to go with. We both looked at one another less than enthusiastically, neither wanting to let the other down. It wasn't nearly as bad as we expected, so now we just have to keep it up lol.

I have several birthdays on the horizon this week, in fact there are four people that I know all celebrating on Thursday.

These are some cards that I made for a 3D/Masking class before Christmas.
I have used a couple of the leaves from Tim Holtz CMS136 Mini Blueprints along with some kraft card,

distress Inks and a Kaisercraft CS752 Script stamp.
They are quite masculine cards, which is just as well since I need 3 men's cards for those Thursday birthdays.

Wonderful Onsies

Hi All
Well I told you I was planning on hibernating this weekend and I think that was very definitely the best choice given the snow that greeted me when I opened the curtains this morning.
Of course the kids have loved it, and have finally got to use the sledges that I bought for them about 3 years ago (how to guarantee no snow that year - buy sledges for Christmas lol)

Now those of you that are regular followers of my blog will know that I am on a bit of a mission to finish off all of the leftovers from my card making endeavours.
Of course I will have to live to be 163 to even be in with a chance of doing that, but baby steps lol.

Having made my Funky Shaped Card for the Woodware blog last week, I was left with a few practise pieces, as you do, so I decided to get them finished first.
I'm a bit OCD when it comes to getting things done I'm afraid, they have to be done in order, which is probably why the 'To Do List' just seems to get longer and longer!!

I decided that the 'Onsie' (tutorial HERE) would work just as well added to a normal shaped card, and they would be a little bit quicker to make as well.
This one continued the Christmas theme using up some background paper from my stash and some Card Candi. I used it upside down here to get the colour that I wanted.

As the colour on this one was a little paler I decided to turn it into a birthday card.

This was my first attempt at the 'Onsie' tutorial. I wasn't quite sure that I liked the rather skinny baby outfit, which is why I decided to add it to a standard card instead.
Thankfully it looks as if the snow has disappeared, for now at least.
The kids are safely indoors in the warm and we have lots of cloths drying out on the radiators. I think that I will try and catch up on a bit of commenting before I attack the next thing on the To Do List.

Evening Everyone,
Thanks for stopping by, have you had a lovely crafty start to the weekend?
Mine was cut short I'm afraid in favour of some washing up. In fact I could have used a little help from this fella lol.

The card was made for the latest Woodware catalogue using this great little Robot stamp set.

I have stamped and embossed him onto grey cardstock, and then coloured parts of him with a Gelli Roll glaze pen.

I added some glossy accents and brads and mounted him onto a background made using silver card, alcohol inks and a Dreamweaver stencil.

I was really rather pleased with how he turned out.

A Christmas Cutie

Evening Everyone,
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?
It had been very cold here today, so I think I might just hibernate for the weekend.
I'm quite hoping that it is TOO cold for the snow that the weather men are predicting for us.
I thought that I would share another Christmas card that I made last year, well it does seem rather appropriate lol.

The image is an old LOTV topper which has been die cut, and then added to a background created from several pieces of paper from my stash.

I added a little bit of glitter glue to finish it all off. A very quick and easy card to add to my stash.

Funky Shaped Cards for Woodware

Hello There,
Thanks for stopping by.
Its my turn to post on the Woodware Blog today, where this week Dorothy has asked for Funky Shaped Cards.
As usual I went straight to my go to place for inspiration, Pinterest, where I found a fabulous idea for a Onsie Card.

I decided to use a Dreamweaver embossing Folder to create the front of my Christmas Onsie.

I used some dye based ink and the Letterpress technique to create the background paper, and then followed the instructions in the tutorial.
BTW I am not the Kim who requested the instructions, but I'm very glad that my namesake did lol.

I decided that this would make the perfect card for a Baby's First Christmas so I added the sentiment along with some glitter domes as press studs.

Mopping up the leftovers

Evening Everyone,
Not much happening on the crafting front here again I'm afraid, so I thought that I would share a couple of cards that I made for the Hobby Art DT retreat way back in November.
Wow that seems such a long time ago now.
We spent a fabulous weekend sharing ideas with one another and doing far too much eating lol.

Jenny asked us all to share something with the rest of the Team, so I chose a quick and easy background technique, which is also a great way to use up ink that is left on your craft sheet after sponging.

Like all crafters I hate to waste anything so I keep a stash of card scraps on my desk ready to mop up any leftover ink.

I used some of these scraps to create these cards adding stamping, colouring and even a bit of stencilling before attaching them to plain white card stock.
Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy as the Grandkids would say.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Evening Everyone,
We have a Birthday Boy in the family, Emma's Daddy is celebrating today.

As I said Becki and I spent Sunday making Andy's card.

In fact Emma went back to her Dad with rather red feet, which took a bit of explaining.
It was just as well that we were also doing Thank you cards for Emma's xmas prezzies, so we only had to stretch the truth a little when telling her Dad what she had been up to lol.

 

We covered Emma's feet in ink and then printed them onto white card stock.

The sentiment and 'DADDY' were cut using dies from my stash.

Card Candi finished the whole thing off.
Unfortunately Andy has had to work today so I have told him that he will have to be like the Queen and have a second birthday. If it's good enough for her Majesty........................:O)

NEW - Home, Baby, Marriage etc for CCM&More

Hello Everyone.
It's the start of another week, and also the start of a new year of challenges over at Crafty Cardmakers and More.
Our host this time is Sally and as it's a brand new year we thought we would go with a 'new' challenge. So you can interpret that in many different ways, it could be to welcome a new baby, a new home, marriage etc. I am sure you can think of many different 'news' you can inspire us with.

I chose a New Baby card as I had several of them to make last year, and who knows what this year will bring.

I made and Easel card as I always think this makes a card just that little bit more special.

The topper is made from one of my LOTV pads and a selection of circle dies.

This circular greeting is also from LOTV and is great for personalising a card.

I added some leafy swirls,

and several other sentiments.
As I said I had several other baby cards to make in 2015 and so I thought that I would share them with you here.

I hope that you will join us for this challenge, but PLEASE be respectful of our rules.

A Gelli Plate Birthday Card

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a good weekend.
It has turned rather cold here so I do hope that the weather men don't get it right with their predictions of the white stuff arriving soon lol.
I have had a rather busy Sunday helping Becki make Thank You cards. We have a little way to go yet so that is a post for another day.

So in the mean time here is another of the cards that I made whilst on holiday at SirStampalot last year.
The blue background to the card has been made using my trusty Gelli Plate, dye based inks and bubble wrap.
The main stamped image uses one of my favourite Woodware stamps designed by Jane Gill and the Resist with a Twist technique.
Better get my thermals out biready for tomorrow :O)

Only Hearts can build a Home

Evening Everyone.
Another fabulous class today, it is so nice to play with 'crafty friends'.
We enjoyed plenty of coffee and a slab of Christmas cake that I had saved especially for today, and of course we managed to get a few cards made between us.
I even managed a couple of Christmas cards, as did Sylvie despite her initial reluctance to use any Christmas embossing folders lol.
Then after class it was off to Mum's for a family post Christmas get together.
It is always nice to see everyone, although getting there a little late after class, I did miss the first meeting of my youngest Granddaughter and my Great Niece. Apparently they got quite excited to see one another. Myla is a couple of months older than Emma and this was their first encounter so it was a rather special meeting. I have photos of their Mums getting together at a similar age so we will have to compare them.
I managed to take some old photo albums along to the get together which I came across at Christmas. They certainly put a smile on every ones faces when we looked back at pictures of us all over 20 years ago!!

In fact it is hard to believe that I have just sent this card to the 'baby' being held in one of the photos after he bought his first house.
Where have all of those years flown to?

Patterned Leaves

OMG why is it that it seems to take days to get yourself reorganised and tidy and yet a few hours can see things back to square one as if you were never organised at all!!
As fast as I try to catch up, I just seem to get further behind.
Oh well, never mind, fretting about it isn't making it any better, so I will just share a couple of cards with you that I made last year while playing at Sir Stampalot.

The background was made using inks and the Gelli Plate,

and a fabulous leafy stamp set from Stampendous.
I don't think that I have shared them with you before, but at this point anything is possible lol.

Embossing Folders are fab

Oh Dear, more dreadful weather. If I didn't know any better I might think I was to blame. It always seems to rain whenever it is my day to visit my Mum lol.
I would say that it's good crafting weather but as I won't get much chance to play today I will share a couple of the samples that I have prepared for my Embossing Folders class on Saturday at Davina's in Purley.

 I love Embossing Folders, they are such a great way to create a background, or embellish a card.

 These samples were all made using embossing folders

 inks, and embossing powder.

Even just spritzing with inks can give an amazing look,

And the panels don't necessarily need anything more than a sentiment to embellish them.

 These last two cards which I have shared with you already, are made using the same ingredients.

They were inspired by something that I saw on Pinterest, my go to place for crafty help and inspiration.
