Star Multi Layering Dies

Evening,

I do love layering dies. They are a little more expensive, but so worth it for creating a background to make a statement on a card.

I particularly like this one from Crafts Too - Presscut Star Multi Layer dies.

It makes for a very striking background in this red, black and gold combo.

I finished the card off with a few die cut flowers and a stamped and embossed sentiment.

Same dies, different colour combo and a completely different look.

Fairies For Chrisy

Evening All
Sorry I've been MIA again, it has taken me nearly a week to feel even vaguely normal again after the night shifts. I don't know how people do it.

This card was made for a lady at work to give to her daughter Chrisy.

I chose a delightful old LOTV image as the focal point for my card, cut out using a circular 'stitched' die.

It was then layered onto a purple scalloped circle which has been highlighted with gold gilding wax.

The purple background card has been dry embossed using a large folder from Crafts Too.

I added some flowers and leafy swirls which complimented the flowers on the fairy topper.
A little bit of glitter glue and some tiny gems and it's all blinged up and ready to send.
I'm pleased to say that it was very well received. In fact she was so thrilled with it that she wants me to make a couple more special cards for her to send.

Christmas Holly and Poinsettias

Evening Everyone,
Oh dear, today has been a very long day indeed.
7pm seems to have taken forever to arrive, and where has the beautiful spring weather gone from yesterday? It has been freezing cold all day.

Of course the change in the weather is probably my fault. I spent a very enjoyable evening yesterday with some Girlfriends making Christmas cards!!!!

 Well you can never be too prepared can you lol.

I bought a very large Crafts Too Christmas embossing folder a while ago with a fabulous holly leaf design on  it. Of course having bought it because I liked it, I had absolutely no idea what to do with it.

It was far too big to use as a whole, however cut into four it makes the perfect background for a die cut poinsettia from Sue Wilson.

 And a sentiment from Hobby Art.

 I have sponged each panel on the debossed side with brown, green and red distress inks.

The poinsettias were cut from red and gold cardstock. I got a little bored with poking out all the fiddly bits, perhaps I need to get hold of one of those fancy tools for just that purpose.

I added some stardust pen to the leaf veins, and glossy accents to the berries.

I also added some die cut holly branches.
Lets hope it warms back up tomorrow, and that I don't wake up to a foot of snow. I don't think I could face that.
Better press publish, before I fall asleep again. No time for anything else today.

Foil and Alcohol Inks for Our Creative Corner

Hi All
Well I did say that I would be back again today, but this is not the card that you were expecting :O)

Another of the challenges that I have been greatly missing is Our Creative Corner  where this week they have been thrilling us with samples of Foil and Alcohol inks.
The main panel on the card is a piece of thin metal foil which I embossed with a floral folder from Crafts Too, and then added Cranberry and Sail Boat Blue Alcohol inks with a little Pearl Mixative added.
Sorry about the shadow in the photograph, I really think I will have to get myself a lighting booth of some kind. Maybe Father Christmas will be good to me, I have been a Good Girl after all lol.

I layered this onto a piece of black glossy card using Silicon so that it would help fill out the embossed areas for posting.
This was then attached to a white card which has been stamped and embossed repeatedly with a lovely Magenta stamp I0386.

The same stamp has been used on the central panel which has also been coloured using Alcohol inks.
I painted the leaves with bleach and then heated them which made them turn a slightly green colour.
The flower has been decoupaged and then Glossy Accents have been added.
The fine metal swirls are the result of trimming the metal sheet on my trimmer, they just seemed too good to throw out, you know what us Crafters are like.
The bright coloured panel that the flower has been mounted onto is also Alchol inks but this time on Glossy Photographic paper. It started to crack when I heat embossed it, hence the floral panel mounted over it.
The final touch is some nice pearls as flower centres.
I think that I am just about in time to enter the challenge, at least I hope so, and then its back to my craft table, I'm on a roll at the moment.
