Chalked Agapanthus

Evening,

In any stamp range there is always one design that seems to become a firm favourite.

That was definitely the case with the fabulous agapanthus stamps from Stampendous.
I used versamark ink and decorating chalks to create a soft stamped panel,
which I chopped up and then matched with some Bazzill cardstock and vellum.
As well as the single flower head, there was also this spray. Definitely in my all time favourite stamp selection.
I added various sentiments, peel-offs and card strips to finish these cards.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. Hopefully with a little crafting thrown in.

Tag Cards

Afternoon,

A couple of tag cards from me today. And if I'm honest I can't even begin to remember how long they have been in my card box.

I do remember going through a bit of an orange and brown phase, which was around the time that my stamping book was published in 2006!!!!! Oh dear was it really that long ago.

For this card I layered together several torn pieces of stamped and embossed orange card and then cut them into a tag shape.
The flowers were stamped and embossed onto black card stock and then painted with a Pearlex Watercolour palette.
The base card was created using Bazzil card stock and a piece of torn vellum. Brads, gold peel-offs and thread complete the card.
This second card was also made a long time ago using a Stampin Up stamp.
I stamped and embossed the image onto a small white tag and then layered it onto a base card covered with blue and pink Bazzil card stock.
I have a feeling that this was one of the cards that I made after one of the Grandchildren were born, and it definitely wasn't for Jack (2) or Chloe (3). I made several different ones as suggestions to say thank you for gifts received.
I've just had my text message to book my 2nd Covid jab. I hope that I get off as lightly as last time with any reaction as I will have work the next day. My daughter is currently prone on the sofa feeling ghastly after her first jab, so it's a good job it's my night to cook.
Thanks for stopping by.

Paper and Punches

Evening All,
I just don't know where the time has gone to. I can't believe that I haven't posted anything since this time last week.
I have been trying to be much more organised at home, but I'm afraid that this doesn't seem to have left me much time to blog, there just aren't enough hours in the day.
The wonderful Girls over at Woodware have been playing with punches this week, so I thought that it was about time that I joined in. Shame it has taken me till now to do so lol.
As usual I got a bit carried away, but then punched backgrounds are such a great way of using up those small bits of card and paper that are 'just too good to throw away.'
I chose some pieces of Bazill card stock and several different square and rectangular punches. I also rounded most of the corners with a 'Corner Rounder' punch.
I suppose that I did things a little bit back to front, since I didn't look through my bits box for some co-ordinating stamped pieces until after I had made the punched backgrounds!!
Note to self - co-ordinate your pieces better next time.
As you can see I have managed to finish a few more Christmas cards,
and an 'All Occasion' card as well.
I will be back again tomorrow as we have a new challenge over at CCM&More.
See you.

I'm having another Magenta moment

Evening everyone.
I told you the weather would go down hill after the longest day, well today has definitely been proof of that, sorry.
I decided that today I would try and finish a few things, 'just because', before I got on with the next round of DT things that I have to do.
So with that in mind I managed to get some of the bleach bits from class finished, as well as a pile of cards written and ready to send.
I seem to be going through a bit of a Magenta phase at the moment so here are just a couple of the Christmas cards that I have managed to finish today.
The image on each has been stamped and embossed onto Bazzil card stock  and then painted with undiluted thin bleach.
I have then painted the poinsettia with Barn Door Distress ink.
Some of the leaves have also been painted with Peeled Paint Distress ink and some have not.
I have kept these cards in traditional Christmas colours but there were others that I finished that were definitely not traditional at all. I will share those on another occasion.
I have to be at work at 5am tomorrow so I suppose that I really need to get some sleep even though I am still wide awake at the moment.
I can see I will be in need of a granny nap tomorrow afternoon lol.
Sweet Dreams

Magenta Garden Tile

Evening Everyone,
I hope that you have had a good day. Mine has been a lot less stressful than yesterday, but I can't help but be thankful that it is nearly the weekend.
I have been trying to prep for my class on Saturday, where we are playing with bleach. I do hope that the girls remember not to wear their best clothes. They should all be used to my messy classes by now, so I'm hoping that we will be OK.
There has been much playing and stamping this afternoon, but no actual card making so I thought that I would share a card that I made a while ago using bleach.
The stamp is once again a fabulous design from Magenta M.0469 Garden Tile, although unfortunately it looks as if it is no longer available.
One of the brilliant things with bleach is that it allows you to paint onto coloured card stock and still retain the true colour of the inks used.
I stamped and embossed the image onto Salmon Pink Bazzil card stock and then painted it with undiluted thin bleach.
You will have to experiment as not all card stock will bleach successfully.
Once the bleach has dried (you can speed and intensify the effect by heating using a craft heat tool) paint the image using any colouring medium. Here I have used dye based inks such as Distress or Kaliedacolour ink pads.
I tore the edges of the panel and mounted it onto black glossy, and green card stock.
I was really pleased with the subtle effect that this produced.
I will have to get a couple of cards finished tomorrow, plus the tag and instructions ready for Saturday afternoon. Oh dear what a hardship, that means that I will have to play some more lol.

Janice set me a challenge

Hi
I suppose I really ought to say Good Morning given the time lol.
I've had a very productive day. I have made sure that all the birthday cards are sorted for this month. Well nearly all. I still have two very special cards to make for the twins but I will make a start on them tomorrow.
Whenever I go to SirStampalot there is always a challenge set for me. This time was no different. There were several Hero Arts stamps for me to choose from and  'Do something with!'
The first stamp I used was Hero Arts CG287 Flower Corsage. It is a cling stamp, and having chosen it for my first challenge I made these two cards.
In this first one I have stamped and embossed it onto Bazzil card stock and then painted the image with bleach.
I used some papers in the background, my new punch and some more Bo Bunny spotted ribbon.
This second card uses the same stamp, only this time I have stamped and embossed it onto some background paper that I made using a soggy teabag. I have then painted the image with instant coffee!!
I have layered the image over some more lovely background papers that I picked up from the shop and cut out with a new Nestie. I have added a separate flower, along with some more spotty ribbon and punched leaves.
I hope that you like them both. They seemed to do the trick as we nearly sold out. I left the brown card for the shop so maybe they are sold out completely by now.
Good heavens it's nearly 1 o'clock I must get some sleep.
Nite nite
Love and hugs
Kimx
