Time of Mellow Fruitfulness at WoodwareWitterings

Morning,
My turn today at WoodwareWitterings where it is 'Time for Mellow Fruitfulness'

We are left very much to our own devises once we have been given the title. It is up to us to interpret as we see fit.

Now to me it screamed cornfields, and spiders webs and autumn colours.

I used a fabulous Dutch Doobadoo Spiders Web Mask Art

and Decorating Chalks to create my background, before stamping and embossing JGS273 Wheat onto it using Black Versafine ink and clear embossing powder.

To create a darker piece of background for the main body of the card I first tapped a clean Versamark  inkpad over a sheet of Mixed Media card stock and then blended the same colours of Decorating Chalks over it. The ink makes the chalks appear darker and is a great way to create co-ordinating paper to match your chalked images. 

 Once again I got a little carried away and created a second card.

 I'm actually not sure which one I like best lol.

This time I stamped and embossed using Sepia Versafine Ink 

 and added a dry embossed spiders web as my background.

I sponged the embossed panel with the same colours of decorating chalks using a cotton wool ball and added some Gold, Copper and Bronze Gilding Wax. Unfortunately this doesn't show up very well in the photos.

I had several narrow strips left over from trimming my panels so I created a third card with a bit of paper weaving,

some die cut foliage,

and a sentiment.

You are in my thoughts

Evening Everyone,
Are you well?
Unfortunately I have had the need to make some sympathy cards to give to a couple of lovely customers at the garage.

I used a panel from my stash which I cut in half to create two similar cards.

Well the ladies are sisters after all.

And they live next door to one another,

so I hope that they will be still be able to look out for one another at this sad time.

Congratulations and Well Done

Morning,
Things have definitely got back to normal on the roads this week now that the schools have finally all returned after the summer holidays.
It was a bit of a staggered start, so the full effects weren't felt until Friday, but it was enough to effect the mood of the customers, all except the parents that is who were all looking pretty relieved that the holidays are finally over.
It doesn't seem like it has been three weeks since the GCSE exam results came out, and I had several congratulations cards to make.

My Boss, and two of the ladies that I work with all have children the same ages as my two eldest Grandchildren, so we have spent many years celebrating the same milestones together.

I know that we were all equally proud of their achievements, whatever their grades.

I have used a lovely Penny Black stamp for my cards, colouring the images using Distress Inks and a waterbrush.
Megan starts the Sixth Form tomorrow so everyone will be back to school.
I'm sure that she will enjoy it once she gets over the initial nervousness of something new.

Sketch 54 at WoodwareWitterings

Morning Everyone,
We have a new sketch to inspire you over at WoodwareWitterings and today it is my turn to share.

I do love a sketch, it is a great place to start if you are having a bit of a creative block, and it is also a good way of using up some of the abundant bits and pieces from your stash.

The stamped and embossed panel is from that stash and is a very old Stampendous stamp Scenic Poppies.
I covered the poppes and the three trees with Liquid Masking Fluid which you have to leave to dry and then I sponged the entire panel with dye based inks.

Once you have finished colouring the background rub the masking fluid away with your finger to reveal nice white images ready to colour. I used Alchol pens for this and then added a little bit of shine with a versamark pen and clear embossing powder.

The green panel also involves masking, this time with a large post it note and a black pigment ink pad.

As usual I have made a second card, this time using part of an old Magenta stamp Flower Pot Trio and more of the masked background.

Here is the sketch, have a great time being inspired by it.

Layer it Up

Hi All
We have a new challenge starting today over at CCM where our host Marlene is looking for you to Layer It Up, creations with lots of layers.

My card has been made using a piece of Gelli plate background from my stash.

I added a die cut circle as a moon/sun,

and then several layers of torn paper and card across the bottom of the card.

The poppies have been die cut from a piece of red card that has first been stamped on with diluted thin bleach.

Finishing touches are some tiny black dots added with a Micron pen and Card Candi.

I also made this card in a very similar manner,

using pieces from my bits box.

I'm on a mission as you know to use things up.

More Christmas cards with a Traditional feel.

Hi All
I'm on a roll here people, even if I have missed a couple of days, so here are a few more Christmas cards with a traditional feel.

 A nice jolly Father Christmas,

 and some dry embossed brickwork.

 There is nothing more traditional at Christmas time than a nice fat robin

 sitting on a bough full of berries.

I love kraft card and red gingham,

and here I have made the card look like a present that has been tied with ribbon.

 And here is the same stamp coloured in with diluted instant coffee.

 And of course Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a wreath of some sort.

I hope that there are plenty of ideas here for you to help add some cards to your stash.
Back to the craft room while it is still cool enough for me to get anything done.

Traditional Christmas for WoodwareWitterings

Morning Everyone,
It is my turn to post for WoodwareWitterings again this week and we are looking at Traditional Christmas cards.

Now I'm a usually a fairly traditional girl when it comes to Christmas, I do like my reds and greens.

I chose a card that I made using JGS181 Rosehip Wreath.

I stamped and embossed the image onto watercolour card using white embossing powder and then coloured the image using the wet watercolour technique and dye based inks.

The sentiment is from another of Jane's Christmas stamps JGS179 Poinsettia Basket.

As usual I couldn't help playing and made a couple more cards. 

 This time I chopped the image into squares to create a couple of smaller cards.

And here is one to show you that it can look just as good in non traditional black and white.

This card uses the traditional Christmas colours but the Poinsettia Basket.

 And here is another version.

And this one again shows that it can look just as good in a non traditional version.
