Inkspirational Borders

 Evening All,

Well I have finally had a successful day of crafting. I can't share at the moment, so here are a few more cards made with some of Phill Martin's Inkspirational border stamps.

I used Distress inks to create the background
and sprinkled it with some drops of water to bleach out some of the colour.
Another similar card, just different colours, and I added the sentiment on a separate panel.
And finally this card using the same colours as the previous one just with some chopped up sentiments to highlight the stamping.
Thanks for stopping by.

Using Die cuts

 Afternoon All,

I thought that I would try out another challenge.

Over at Try Stampin (or not ) on Tuesday they have a new challenge where you can you either follow their sketch, or use die cuts, or both to create your card.

I decided to use die cuts on my card.
I die cut some Sue Wilson flowers and swirls and added them to a to a stamped and embossed grungy frame created using a Phill Martin stamp and some pearlescent ink.
I can't remember the name of the stamp set, and it would take me far too long to find it amongst all my boxes....sorry.
I seem to remember that there were a set of grungy style stamps all released at the same time and this is another card made using them and some more floral dies.
This time I used a bright inky background, and bleached out the leaves.
My final card uses a pixie powder/brusho/color burst background and one of the grungy borders around the edges of the main panel.
I die cut the frame from the center of the panel and then covered it with a black square. This is known as 'gutting' the card and saves wasting a fabulous piece of background card.
As I said I am going to enter these in to the challenge over at Try Stampin - or not- on Tuesday, perhaps you could check it out and maybe give it a try yourself.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and hugs

Christmas at CraftyCardmakers

Evening Everyone.
We started our final challenge of 2017 over at CCM on Monday, and rather appropriately our theme is Christmas.
I must admit that I have been reasonably good this year, and have made one or two Christmas cards each month. Not every month you understand, but then there were some months where I got quite carried away.
These first cards were all made using a sheet of Magnolia background paper from my stash.
I cut up the 12x12 sheet of paper and then sponged each section around the edges with Picket Fence Distress ink.
I wasn't happy with the coverage so I decided to add white embossing powder to give the panels a snowy feel.
I also stamped and embossed across the panels using one of the fabulous Inkspirational Borders from Phill Martin.
The Poinsettias have been stamped and embossed onto different colours of vellum,
and then fussy cut and shaped,
before adding them to the cards with silicon.
I also added some die cut holly leaves and a sentiment from Hobby Art.
I had quite a few stamped and embossed flowers left over so I used them up on these last two cards.
This one uses a very useful ornate frame stamp, and a repeated sentiment.
I also dry embossed a piece of green card, and added some gilding wax and distress ink.
Another stamped and die cut sentiment and some foliage were used to complete this last card.
I hope that are able to join in with our challenge HERE.
Please note this challenge runs until Friday December 22nd, instead of the usual Sunday finish. We will re-open in the new year on January 15th.
I don't envy June having to judge this challenge. I'm having enough trouble just keeping up with my commenting, and even more trouble getting my Christmas cards written.
I suppose I had better make a start now I have put the samples in the post to Creative Expressions for the launch of Jane Gill's stamps in the New Year.
Have a great evening.
Happy Crafting and Hugs

A Little Bit of Playtime

Evening Everyone,
I have finally managed to get some playtime with out my little helper, although I must admit I have missed her today.
The Girls have asked to play with some fantastic Inkspirational Grungy style stamps by Phill Martin which found there way in to my shopping basket before Christmas.
I haven't had the chance to turn them into cards yet, but here are a few of the ideas that I have been playing around with.
I will share them properly with you as soon as I have finished them, so for now consider this a sneek peek.
