I made the Top 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well let this be a lesson to you All. If you enter a challenge, don't forget to go and check out whether you won lol.
I had a wonderful surprise yesterday when I was looking around Blogland. The card that I entered in to the Allsorts Challenge  (Primary Colours) had been chosen for the Top 5. How fantastic is that!!
The moral of this tale though is that you should go back and check out the winners, because had I won the first prize I would have been too late to claim it.

The card I have for you tonight was made for the birthday of an old friend.
 I know that she loves Clarice Cliff and so this stamp from a Woodware set Winding Paths FRCL165 available to order from Sir Stampalot fitted the bill perfectly.

I am entering it into the challenge over at Inspirational Card Sketches.
I had better go now, I have to check out a few more blogs. How do you ladies manage to keep up to date with everything??

Happy Birthday Ma, here's to many more......

Evening Everyone,
This week has been full of major milestones. As well as my Aunt and Uncles 60th Wedding Anniversary, my wonderful Mum is 80 on Sunday.
She may be an Older Lady, but she has certainly grasped technology better than her daughter.
She is always the first one to text me on any special occasion, my birthday, Christmas, New Year, much to the amazement of my work colleagues.
She also checks out my blog every morning.

This card was supposed to have been posted on Friday morning, at which point I would have had to get her to look away lol.
The reason for the early post was because I had made it to enter in the challenge over at The Stamp Man, where the challenge was Take Two Colours. Unfortunately I didn't get the post done in time so I decided that I would let Mum see the card in the flesh before I popped it on the blog.
I made it using a fabulous sketch that I found over at Inspirational Card Sketches.

I am also entering it at Stamp and Create where the challenge is flowers.

I think it qualifies on two counts given that it has handmade and shop bought flowers on it, as well as the main image being floral.

The main panel has been created using a Penny Black stamp and pigment inks. I have stamped and embossed the image using the little Cats Eye pigment ink pads and clear embossing powder. Once this has been heated I have 'huffed' on the stamp without reinking it and then I have stamped this repeatedly onto the panel to give this lovely multiple stamped effect.
I have used a couple of other Penny Black Butterfly, and mini Dragonfly stamps to finish the panel.
I am also entering this in to the challenge at Crafty Cardmakers, where the order of the day is Birthdays.
Today has ended up being a rather hectic one. I spent most of the day at Lavender Lane where I was demoing Brayers and Big and Juicy ink pads.
Thank you to all the lovely ladies who braved the lousy weather to come and spend time with us. It was wonderful to see you all, I hope you picked up plenty of tips and that you are happily playing with all your goodies.
After the Demo my daughter whisked me off to my Mum's birthday party. Unfortunately most of the guests had had to go home but it was great to catch up with family - it's one of the few times when we all manage to get together. It's a shame that the sun didn't shine as well earlier in the afternoon when my Bro was cooking the BBQ.
Must close now or I will be too tired to link the card to the relevant challenges.

Mini Maji

Evening Everyone.
As promised I'm back with a couple of pictures of just a few of the cards from Barbara's TV show earlier today, in fact if I'm not mistaken it is actually being repeated as I write this.

I had great fun with this first set of stamps - after my friend Anna had pointed out which way up they go. In fact I think most of us could do with an Anna as quite a few of the samples had little faceless men UPSIDE DOWN lol.
I'm pleased to say that all of mine were the right way up.

This first set of cards were made in some nice traditional Christmas colours, and were actually designed to be small cards and NOT gift tags as the presenter indicated.
I've used my Nesties to make them and a sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches. This particular challenge is long since closed, but its a great place to go for sketches.

I've used some peel-off dots and a few small flowers (not handmade this time I'm afraid) to finish the cards off. And of course a bit of added bling with my trusty Stardust pen.
Must get to bed now, as I have to be up early again tomorrow. I can't believe how quickly Monday has come round again.

Distressed Flowers

Afternoon All
Well I've been a very busy bunny all day, so I figured that I would have a break for a cuppa and post a couple of pictures before I put my nose to the wheel again.
Besides if I leave the post any later I will miss the deadline for one of the challenges, if  I haven't already lol.

It was my Brother-in-law Alistair's birthday on Thursday. Yes I know the card is going to be late, but as he is on holiday abroad at the moment, I might just get away with it lol.
I have made his card using a fabulous sketch over at Inspirational Card Sketches, but I have also decided to enter it into the challenge at Cupcake Craft where the order of the day is Distressing.

The floral panels on the card have been created using my favourite Distress ink pads, and then I have roughed up the edges with my scissors, so lets hope it fits the challenge on both counts :)
The stamps used are Penny Black 3939K Queen Anne's Lace,  one of my favourites as you know, and a line from another of my favourites Hobby Art Birthday Greeting GR1455G. This stamp is just so useful as you can cut off just one line from it to use on a card, as I have here or use the entire thing for a background.
Better get back to my desk again while I still feel full of inspiration.

Christmas in July

Evening Everyone.
Well at least I'm not sleeping on the floor any more, but the saga of Sky is far from over. I seem to have spent most of the weekend waiting for the box to switch back on again and so far I have failed miserably.
So we will move on to more successful endeavours - some cards.
After refilling the units in my room (the reason for my two rather uncomfortable nights on the floor), I have spent what was left of the weekend making Christmas cards for Barbara's next TV show on Sunday 8th August 11am Create and Craft channel 671.
I have had a great time making cards with one of the new stamp sets that she has designed. Unfortunately I am sworn to secrecy over them until they air next week so I thought that I would make an extra card that I could share with you.

I've really got into this challenge lark, it is so helpful when you have several cards to make.
I have made the card using a sketch over at Inspirational Card Sketches.
It is a very useful sketch and one I can see myself using over and over again. Thanks Guys.
It gave me the chance to use my new Poinsettia Creatables LR0121 which I bought on Wednesday evening at Davina's. I used them with my Cuttlebug and a Nestie to make the small shaped card.
I've added a greeting from Hobby Art GR01B and some additional small flowers. The leaves are made with another Creatable, but I'm afraid that I've had it for a while so no info on code numbers. Sorry :)

I am also entering this in to the challenge over at Tuesday Taggers.
The challenge there is Christmas in July. Well, it was July when I made the card lol.
I can see that i am going to have to make a box for it, so I had better get that done before I get to bed or else it will become another of those cards that end up in the 'To be finished' drawer. The trouble is they never do get finished do they!!!
Anyway better get on to that box.
