Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you All.

No I'm not late to the party, it's the start of the Chinese New Year 2022 - The year of the Tiger.

I searched through my stash of cards to find something oriental to post today and this was what I found.
It was made many years ago using a stamped and embossed image. I believe the stamp was from Great Impressions.
I added watercolour to the image and then layered it onto a torn panel.

No late night partying here I'm afraid. I'm off to get some sleep since I'm back to work at 4am tomorrow!!! We are struggling a bit with staff at the moment (paternity leave and a case of Covid) so I worked several hours extra today and I'm shattered.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gone Fishing

Evening Everyone,

I think that's enough of the Christmas cards for a few days. I've spent the whole weekend making them and then this afternoon we had snow flurries just to cap it all off, so here instead are a couple of cards made using a fabulous Designer Boutique stamp called Gone Fishing.

I used a long acrylic block to create the watercoloured background.
I used a different sized block for the background on this card along with an embossing folder fo the background.
You can generally get a second generation stamping for the background with the addition of a little more water.
I like to chop sentiment stamps up for a different look to a card. It is also useful to cover up a smudge, as is the case here lol.
This card uses a mop up background which is a favourite technique of mine.
Thankfully the snow flurries haven't come to anything. Let's hope that I don't wake up to a very nasty surprise.
Thanks for stopping by.

Blue Wood Vetch

Evening Everyone,
It seems really strange not to have a Creative Expressions challenge to find a card for, it means I actually have to think lol.
So here are a couple of cards that I made using one of Jane's fabulous new stamp sets designed for Woodware and available through Creative Expressions.
I created a background using a blue Shimmer Shaker which I mixed with water and then brushed onto watercolour cardstock.
I used a rectangular die to deboss into the background panel after I had stamped and embossed JGS716 Wood Vetch on to the watercolour background.
Another card created in a similar manner,
this time using an oval die for the debossing,
and adding some script stamping using JGS712 Text Background.
This one uses the same stamps, this time with white embossing and a rectangular die.
The small sentiment tiles are taken from another of Jane's stamp sets JGS714 Tulip Set. It is one stamp that I chopped up into tiles and edged with a black sharpie pen. You can see it as a whole on card number 2.
Have a great evening. Stay Safe
