Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you All.

No I'm not late to the party, it's the start of the Chinese New Year 2022 - The year of the Tiger.

I searched through my stash of cards to find something oriental to post today and this was what I found.
It was made many years ago using a stamped and embossed image. I believe the stamp was from Great Impressions.
I added watercolour to the image and then layered it onto a torn panel.

No late night partying here I'm afraid. I'm off to get some sleep since I'm back to work at 4am tomorrow!!! We are struggling a bit with staff at the moment (paternity leave and a case of Covid) so I worked several hours extra today and I'm shattered.

Thanks for stopping by.

Make Your Own Flowers for the Crafty Cardmakers challenge

Afternoon All
I hope that you have not been working too hard today.
Why are Mondays always so hard, I'm always in mind of the good old Boomtown Rats song 'I don't like Mondays' lol.
We start a new challenge today at Crafty Cardmakers, where we are asking you to 'Make your own Flowers'.
We would like to see projects featuring flowers made by you, these can be ribbon, paper, fabric, die cuts, tissue, embroidered, anything you choose so long as it is hand made and not store purchased.
We are sponsored this time by ONE STOP CARD CRAFTS who are offering a £10 voucher for their store as a prize and DIGI DOODLE SHOP with a $10 Gift Certificate for the Store.
My flowers were made following a tutorial that I found on the web a little while ago.
It was posted by Norma at From my Craft Room who calls it herWrinkled Flower Coloured With Distress Ink Tutorial.
Do check it out as it is very well done and easy to follow.
My flowers have been coloured using Barn Door distress ink which has matched perfectly with some papers that I had in my stash.
I have followed the sketch at I heart 2 stamp.
The greeting is from a lovely new stamp set called Birthday Collection from Hobby Art that will be launched on Jenny's TV show on Wednesday. (Create and Craft sky channel 671 at 10am)
The swirl which has been stamped and white embossed across the bottom of the card is also from another new hobby Art set  Flourishes. I have coloured them using the Barn Door distress ink.
This challenge runs for the usual 2 weeks but it will be the last challenge at Crafty Cardmakers for a while as we are having a short summer break. When we come back in August there will be a DT call, so it gives you plenty of time to get creative.
I would like to enter this in to the following challenges
Lollipop Crafts - Challenge 83 Flowers in Bloom
Great Impressions  - Challenge 4 Die cuts or Punches
Pile it On - Challenge 26 Make your own Embellishments
I'm going out to dinner this evening so I had better get on.
Happy Crafting,

Twas the Night Before Christmas at Christmas Crafting

Evening Everyone,
Have you been enjoying the hot weather again today? It's a little too hot for me to be honest, but I won't complain, at least not out loud lol.
Hopefully we have fixed the problems with the Internet, disabled at their end for some reason!!!!!!
The challenge this month at Christmas Crafting is 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' so this is my offering using a little cutie from Great Impressions.
It actually started out as a tag that I made for Cardmaking and Papercraft some years ago to which I added some extras from my Christmas bits box.
I have a class at Davina's tomorrow so I had better get all my stuff together.
Night night.

Snowflakes at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown

Evening All
The Theme challenge this week over at 52(Christmas) Card Throwdown is Snowflakes.
As you know I have been making Christmas cards this weekend, so this is one of them which included some snowflakes embossed with Stampendous Frantage Aged Gold Embossing Enamel which I bought at SirStampalot.
The snowflake stamp is also an old design from Stampendous M122 Snow Swirl which I bought on Saturday at Davina's. I'm sure that I probably have this stamp somewhere but as she has 50% off all of her wood mounted stamps at the moment it was easier to buy it than spend hours wading through my stash.
How naughty is that!! Still I will find it a good home if I do discover that I already have it, so someone will benefit.
The mouse on the bauble is an image from my stash but is by Great Impressions and is called Franklin Hanging On.
I used it for a magazine article some years ago but it has remained a favourite of mine. It is available from Horseshoe Craft.
The card base is made using a combination of scalloped and plain circles cut using Grand and regular size nesties. I sponged a little Stormy Sky distress ink around the edges of the white card.
I hope that you like it and that maybe you will be inspired to make a couple of Christmas cards to add to your   stash for this year.

I would like to enter this into a couple of other challenges
Lexi's Creations - Use your Punches and Dies
Paper Sundaes Challenge - Lets get Cute

It's a Boy xx

Evening Crafters
Did you survive Monday OK?
I've made it, just about. I'm always so tired on a Monday, but then it is entirely my fault as I sat up late making baby cards. Ahhhhh.
It seems that everyone is having boys at the moment.
Our lovely local Bobby (Policeman for those of you not from England) is now the proud Father of a bouncing baby boy called Flynn. He was born just before midnight on Friday.
I feel very honoured that I was on his list of people to text, even if the message did come through at 1am on Saturday morning lol.
I wanted to be prepared for any eventually, so I had started a card for a boy and a girl. They had had loads of scans so I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be caught out with twins :)
Anyway this is the card that I made.
Once again I have used my lovely Magnolia baby stamp 1584E Alvin Sitting available over at Sir Stampalot. This really is getting some use just recently.
The swirl is also by Magnolia and has been stamped with my fab white ink pad from Stampin Up.
Of course there just had to be some Cuttlebug and Nesties creep in there as well.
The large BABY greeting is by Great Impressions and I'm sure that Janice and Andy (Sir Stampalot) would be able to get hold of that as well. I really must remember to write down the codes of these stamps before I put them away, it would save me so much time in the long run - far too intelligent though don't you think lol.
I've added some tiny buttons to the front of Alvin's babygro and some larger ones tied with narrow strips of card.
I coloured all of the images with my trusty distress ink pads, and added some stardust pen.
Hope they like it.
Better go now.
Love and hugs
Kimx
