A Nautical Birthday Card

Evening Everyone
I hope that you are all well and looking forward to your Bank Holiday weekend, well if you are in the UK at least.
I have managed to cross another project off my 'To Do List' today.
A friend has asked me to make a card for her Dad for his birthday. He was in the Navy for a number of years and so when I asked her if she had any suggestions for her card she just said 'Maybe something Nautical'.
I won't share the card that I made for her yet, I don't like to, at least until she has had a chance to see it :O).
However I did have quite a few left over bits, so in my 'use it all up' mode I made another card to add to my stash.
I had ordered several new 'Nautical' stamps from Woodware which arrived yesterday, so I used a couple of them here.
Woodware Clear Magic JGS163 Old Map Frame and JGCL554 Frigate and Stampendous CRR163 Cling Old World Map have all been used here as well as Aged Bronze Frantage Embossing Enamel and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I stamped and Embossed the 'Old Map Frame' onto white card stock using Sepia Versafine ink and clear embossing powder and sponged it with Vintage photo Distress Ink before tearing round it.
The circular panel with the Sailing Ship has been created in exactly the same way with the addition of a little Stormy Sky Distress Ink.
The sails have been painted with thin undiluted bleach.
I added a Compass charm which I found in my stash. I think that it came from The Hobby House at one of the shows that I have attended. They have a fabulous range of items and all so very reasonably priced.
The embossing on the background to the card has been created using 'Cling Old World Map' and Aged Bronze Frantage Embossing Powder.
I would like to enter this into the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown where the theme is 'Sail Away' and ABC Challenges where they want 'Stamped Backgrounds'.
I still have the instructions to write for the class tag tomorrow, but I think that I had better leave that for now as it may not make any sense if I try and write it now while I am tired.

Stamped Bargello

Evening Everyone
I hope that you have had a good day.
I had another fabulous class at Davina's.
Who knew you could have so much fun with some strips of paper and double sided sticky tape!!
My good friend Gill was back from her hols so there was also plenty of coffee, good conversation, and she brought some fabulous biccies which we all ate far too many of. All in all a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
The class this week was on Bargello which I did many years ago with tapestry thread but which I was recently reacquainted with over at Technique Time Tuesday where Mynnette explains the technique using paper.
As usual they started the class with a tag for their book, complete with instruction sheet.
I added some vellum, which as I explained to the Girls is always great for covering up any bad stamping.
The left over portion of my Bargello panel has been used to create this card.
The stamp is from Stampendous and was definitely one of those 'I have to have' purchases.
Alright, I know they are all a bit like that, but this one was top of my list when the new catalogue came out.
I stamped and embossed the image onto the Bargello panel and then used the tree part of the stamp on the right hand side of the Kraft card.
I think that this makes a great 'Man's card'.
I would like to enter this into the following challenge
Tuesday Throwdown - Make your own Background
Boy, look at the time, I had better close now, I have another full days crafting tomorrow. It's a hard life isn't it lol.

Winter Blues

Evening All
Well that warm snap didn't last long did it! Although I must admit that I can live with any amount of rain just so long as it doesn't snow again lol.
Still no sign of anything vaguely crafty again today. I am sooo tired at the moment that I have come home and had a Granny nap, how sad is that.
This is a card that I managed to finish at the weekend. Once again it uses bits from my Christmas box, and these were definitely stamped quite some years ago.
The background has been made using the resist technique (glossy card stock, versamark ink and dye based inks) and the image on black has been stamped and embossed and then painted with Pearlex. I also used a Versamark pen to cover the image with embossing powder.
I added a tiny blue gem to the centre of the star.
I would like to enter it into the challenge over at Christmas Cards All Year Round where they are looking for a Christmas Card with a Heart on it somewhere.
Tuesday Throwdown wants Winter Blues on your card.
