Crafty Cardmakers challenge 66 - Fantasy

Evening Everyone.
Today sees the start of another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers, where our host Lin wants to see a  Fantasy theme to your projects. So dragons, fairies, witches, etc, anything Fantasy or mystical just please make sure that the fantasy element is the main focal point of your creation and not a small fairy charm in the corner for example.
Our two fab sponsors are, Crop Stop with a $15 gift certificate to their store and Di’s Digi Downloads with a $10 gift voucher for their store.
I didn't have any trouble choosing my stamps when it came to this challenge.
What else would I use but Wizard Tilda  and Lillyrose the Dragon.
I didn't have a suitable background stamp so I made my own on the computer and printed it out. I added distress ink around the edges and stamped the Shooting Star Border into the corners with the same colour ink.
Tilda has been coloured using Distress ink and then placed over an oval panel cut out with a nestie. I added some glossy accents to her glasses.
I sponged a little colour onto the oval with the nestie still in place, and also added a few stamped stars.
The dragon was a little too large so I decided to shrink her so that it looked as if Tilda had done just that.
The only shrink plastic that I could find was frosted so I painted the back of the shrunk dragon with some white acrylic paint to make the colours a little more vibrant.
The main background to the card has been punched using the Woodware Crafty Edger and Star cassette (The other half of the panel from the Woodware 21st Birthday challenge card)
I have added a large punched star behind the Dragon and a liberal sprinkling of smaller stars around the card.
I hope that you will join us HERE and don't forget to check out what the rest of the team have come up with.

Just dropping in...............

Evening,
Here's another cute kids card.
This time it has been made using one of my many clear stamp sets from Penny Black.
It was ordered by my friend Kevin for his Grandson who will be having a very noisy birthday party on Sunday.
I expect that there will be plenty of balloons, but I'm not sure about low flying hedgehogs lol.
I do like the clear sets, they are such good value for money and so much better now the images are that much bigger.
I have stamped and embossed the images and then coloured them with my distress inks. The name plaque has been made from cream shrink plastic - just perfect to finish it off.
I will try and post some more of the cards that I made for Barbara tomorrow, but for now I must get back to my class prep for Saturday. Two full classes at Lavender Lane - Spring Florals and Acetate and Inks so there will be plenty more things to share.
Love and hugs to All

For a special person

Evening
Talk about leave it till the last minute.
Yesterday my boss asked me if I could make him a card for his daughter's 7th birthday. No problem, when's it for I ask?  Friday came the reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this is what I did with yesterday evening after my class at Davina's was cancelled, which was probably quite fortuitous.
Cards always look that little bit more special when they are made as an easel don't you think. And this Magnolia Princess was just perfect. I love her.
Of course a card for a small person is never complete unless it has their name on so my shrink plastic got an airing again.
Sorry this is a little rushed, I will try a little better tomorrow.
Have a good evening.
With love and hugs to you all

A Primary Birthday

Evening Everyone, thanks for stopping by.
The card I am sharing with you this evening was made for my friend at work to send to her Nephew abroad.
She had missed his 3rd birthday and wanted to send him something a bit special - I hope he feels that my card fits the bill.
I figured that at 3 a card full of nice bright colours would be good and so I am entering it in the Allsorts Challenge where the order of the day is Primary Colours - red, blue and yellow.
Beverley wanted her nephew's name on the card and so once again I used my favourite alphabet stamps on shrink plastic.
Now I was going to be able to tell you exactly which stamp set it was as my friend Sue found that she had it, and hadn't thrown away the packaging. She text me to let me know all the details but once again technology has failed me, my phone seems to have deleted all my messages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used the latest sketch over at Friday Sketchers. I am enjoying all these challenges, and this sketch was particularly useful. I liked the idea of being able to add a secret message from Beverley for Rayon to find when he opened his card.
A cute Penny Black Bear and some party balloons complete the birthday theme.
I started this post several hours ago before I went out to teach at Davina's so I had better finish it now and get some sleep. The trouble is I feel wide awake at the moment, but I'm not sure I will feel quite the same at 5am when it is time to get up :)
Nite Nite all
Love and hugs

Baby Congrats

Evening Everyone
Just a really quick post, I am likely to fall asleep as I write this - well it is Monday and the late nights at the weekend always catch up on me today.
I have had two requests for cards today - typical men, they both need them immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure that they don't have the slightest idea of what goes in to making a card.
Anyway, I looked through my 3 drawers of cards that I have already made and managed to sort out the Birthday card, but the Congratulations card was made from scratch.
I used my trusty Tilda stamp, and as my friend wanted his Grandsons name on the card I just had to use my alphabet set and shrink plastic.
I've coloured in the image with Distress inks and I have also used them to soften the edges of all the panels.
Another of my fave stamps at the moment is the small Tilda swirl which I have stamped down the right hand side of the plain blue panel using a Whisper White Stampin Up ink pad.
This pad is just brill - thanks Shaz for recommending it to me.
I've added buttons, pearls and ribbon from my stash and the New Baby greeting cut out with a nestie. There is also a hint of Stardust pen on the Dummy and star, which actually just about shows up in the photo.
Must close now. I've suddenly remembered that I need to do the insert for the card and Kevin needs it tomorrow am - no rest for the wicked lol.
Nite nite.

Congratulations

Evening Everyone, I hope you've had a good. I can't believe that it's Friday again.
I was asked to make this card by a friend who wanted it to send to a couple celebrating the news of a pregnancy after years of trying.
It has also proved to be an amazingly well timed post as my youngest daughter Becki got the fabulous news yesterday that she has been successful in her application to Kingston University to study Nursing. Yeahhhhhhh!!!!!!!
So I am using this to send congratulations to her, I am very proud of her and look forward to my seat at her graduation in a few years time lol.
The card is an easel card - what a surprise :) - and has been made using a Penny Black stamp Congrats 3850E.
I have just spent the best part of an hour trying to find out the details of the clear alphabet stamp set that I have used, but to no avail.
I can tell you that it has SSC088 STM 2006 on it, but I can't find it on any of the websites for the major stamp companies. Sorry I did try!!. The letters for Sarah and Robbie have been stamped on to shrink plastic with Sazon using this stamp set.
Best of Luck is from another clear stamp set, this time by Inkadinkadoo, but I'm afraid I failed you there too as I don't have the details.
I do so wish that companies would follow Woodwares example and add the details to the carrier sheet for the stamps. It would make life so much easier for those of us that who just throw away all the packaging as soon as we get the stamps home lol.
I have used background papers from my stash and have tapped an ink pad around the punched shapes before I have made the Shabby Chic flowers. I have added small punched leaves and the scrolls from the punched border to floral layout.
The pale green card has been embossed using a cuttlebug folder. I have rubbed Stardust pen on to this panel but it doesn't show in the photograph I'm afraid. Scribble the pen onto your finger tip and then rub it over the embossed panel - it leaves a very subtle trace of bling.
I drew stitched and dotted lines onto the panels using a white Gelly Roll pen.
For extra bling I have added some crystals. I hope that you approve Gilly.
I am entering this card in to a couple of Challenges
Craftalicious
Paperplay
Craftycardmakers
I was too late for Anything Goes at The Stampman so I shall have to work on something else for the next one there.
Sorry Vix my turn to stalk you now. I don't get the time to look around all of the blogs so I tend to see challenges off the back of people that I follow. But then I suppose that's how this challenge thing works right.
Hope you like the card, I certainly had a great time making it.
Must go now, I have to go back to work to do a stock count on the cigarettes - long story which I won't bore you with lol.
Have a great evening and weekend.
Love and hugs

Pirate Ciaran and the Black Pearl

Hi All
I finally finished Ciaran's card at 1.15am this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you can imagine it has been me that has been in need of the Redbull today lol. Still I think it was worth it.
As I told you before apart from knowing that I was going to use a Tilda Pirate stamp to make the card, I had no other clue as to what I was going to do.
When I was discussing what I could do to the card to make it a little bit special - maybe some black flowers - I got a very firm message from  Jenni, his Mum - no flowers and no glitter!!!. Do you think pearls will count ??
Trouble is I had absolutely no trouble making Saskia's card, nice and girly, pink with lots of flowers and even some seed beads sown into her tiara.
So you can see my dilemma. I don't want Ciaran's card to look bland in comparison, as if I haven't taken the same amount of trouble with it. Oh how difficult it is to treat everyone the same lol.
Anyway, when the kids food was brought to the table at the party it arrived in those cardboard boxes favoured by kids meal purveyors every where, and guess what was on the outside of the box - PIRATES!
How perfect was that lol. I carefully rescued one of the boxes from a child before it got totally soaked in tomato ketchup, you know what kids are like with chips! and from there the card just grew and grew.
Isn't it funny how you can go from really struggling to get an idea to it suddenly all coming together with out any trouble at all.
I've used my nesties to cut out various sections of the lunch box and then I have used Pirate Edwin and Barrel, Anchor and Skull stamps both available from Sir Stampalot.
The background papers are Magnolia ones from my stash.
Of course pirates have treasure, especially pearls, so that was the perfect excuse to add some bling. Sorry Jenni, I tried, but I'm sure that Captain Jack would approve lol.
As you can see it is another Easel card which I would like to enter into the challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.
I made it through work, just about but then I just had to have a granny nap. Trouble is when I woke up the house was like the Marie Celeste!!! Everyone had gone out and hadn't wanted to disturb me. My granny nap had turned into several hours!!!! Oh well I must have needed it.
I really had better get a slightly earlier night tonight all though I'm not doing too well with that one am I!!
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Crafting
Love and hugs

Princess Saskia

Hi Everyone.
I hope that you have had a lovely day, even if it is Monday and you are back to work :)
As promised here is the card that I made for my Granddaughter Saskia's 3rd birthday.
She is definitely a girly girl, although there are times when she can be quite a tomboy. It wasn't hard to pick what I was going to do for her card, unlike her brother who was much harder, but more of that card later.
Anyway, as you can see it is quite pink. This was the colour that Sas chose when I asked her what colour she would like me to make her card. Isn't it funny how most little girls seem to start out with pink as their favourite colour lol.
The stamp is Princess Tilda and is available from Sir Stampalot. I hand stitched some tiny seed beads to her tiara. I couldn't thread the bead needle so its just as well that beading thread  is quite stiff.

The flowers are made using one of the Nellie Snellan flower punches available from The Art of Craft.
I added some tiny pre-made flowers from my stash. The swirls are made from the left over pieces from the border punch. You see we never waste anything do we.
I have stamped the letters on to white shrink plastic with Stazon ink and then cut each one out individually before they are shrunk. This really is one of my favourite stamp sets at the moment. It is a clear stamp set and I think it might be by Penny Black all though I am not 100% sure. It is perfect for Kids cards though.
I have decided to enter this into the Allsorts Challenge which is Summer Days, I think it fits quite nicely.
Oh by the way it is an Easel card, in case you hadn't guessed lol. I would also like to enter it in to the challenge over at Project Tuesday where the challenge is Easel cards.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you like the card.
Love and hugs

Watching the World go by.

Hi. Well I've made it through another hot day! Not quite as bad as yesterday but there is something to be said about going back to work tomorrow - at least we have air con lol.
The Grandchildren have had a great time in the garden playing in the paddling pool and the new sandpit - the twins birthday prezzie arrived a little early and it just seemed stupid not to use it, who knows what the weather will be like in a weeks time.
They have had a ball in the sunshine but I feel like I'm turning in to a bit of a vampire. I don't come out in the daylight lol.
Anyway all is not lost as I did at least manage to get a card made. I've decided to enter this one in to the Friday Sketchers challenge. Boy I'm getting brave now!!
The card has been made using one of my Magnolia stamps and the flowers are from a clear stamp set - I think it may be Hero Arts.
I have added the name of the little girl that it has been made for in letters stamped onto shrink plastic. I hope you are suitably impressed Louise :)
The background paper and ribbon are from my stash.
I have also added some faux stitching.
Better sign off now it's getting really late.
Thanks for stopping by.
