A challenge or two

Evening Everyone
Well, the family are safely settled into their little house in Devon after a few stops along the way. Unfortunately Saskia was sick several times on the journey but Megan looked after her in true big Sister fashion. I'm sure Mum and Dad will find her a little treat to say Thank you, I think she deserves it.
I have had a fairly successful days crafting although I don't like all this quiet - no screaming or arguments it seems very weird lol.
This is a card that I was asked to make for a friend to give to his brother. I've made it using a sketch over at Sketch Saturday so I am entering it into their challenge. Check it out.
It has been made using one of the lovely Lili of the Valley images from their die cut sheet Take it Easy cut out with a Nestie. I've added some faux stitching around the edge.
The challenge over at Allsorts is a recipe - 3 papers, 2 ribbon and one flower so I am entering it into that challenge as well. The flower has been made using a Magnolia DooHickey Christmas Poinsettia.
There are several greetings on the card including this one from Lili of the Valley. Brother is taken from a Woodware clear set called Male Relatives (FRCL079) and Birthday Wishes is from another clear set, this time made by Hero Arts.
All the papers and ribbon are from my stash. How come this never seems to get any smaller no matter how many cards I make?
I hope you like the card. Don't forget to check out the challenges.
Love and hugs

Christmas Launch at Sir Stampalot

Evening Everyone.
Thanks for stopping by. This is a very quick post as it has been another long day, but fun, as it always is when I'm on holiday at Sir Stampalot.
I think I might need a holiday to get over this one, and a payment plan for all my stash lol.
Christmas starts tomorrow here in Peterboro with three days of fabulous demonstrations. There has had to be a bit of juggling done with the demos as unfortunately the new Molly Blooms Christmas stamps weren't ready in time, so I am now going to be playing tomorrow instead of Sunday.
I always have a great time when I am here, and it's always a bit of a challenge over what I'm going to be doing as I don't usually find out until I get here. But I hope people will like what I've done.
I have been playing with some of the new Penny Black and Hero Arts Christmas stamps, and there certainly are some lovely ones there.
The major trouble with being in the shop for all these hours is that I keep seeing more and more things that I just have to have!!! It's all about the ownership girls. Sorry, bit of an in joke between me and Janice.
The card I am sharing with you tonight has been made with a stamp from one of the new Hero Arts cling sets CG209 Four Framed Snowflakes. The greeting is actually from a very useful clear stamp set CL343 Holiday Sayings.
I have stamped the snowflake using versamark ink and then have applied Decorating chalks using a cotton wool ball.
The greeting has been stamped and embossed afterwards and as you can see the embossing powder sticks to some of the snowflake image as well. I rather like this slightly patchy effect, but if you don't then you might be better off stamping the greeting with a Stazon pad and not embossing it.
I have made the card using a Nestabilities set. It makes for a nice small card and would have fitted very nicely in to the challenge over at Allsorts. I see that I'm too late to enter this time but I will leave you the link anyway as they have some good challenges.
Hope to see some of you tomorrow - well in a few hours actually.
Nite, nite

A Primary Birthday

Evening Everyone, thanks for stopping by.
The card I am sharing with you this evening was made for my friend at work to send to her Nephew abroad.
She had missed his 3rd birthday and wanted to send him something a bit special - I hope he feels that my card fits the bill.
I figured that at 3 a card full of nice bright colours would be good and so I am entering it in the Allsorts Challenge where the order of the day is Primary Colours - red, blue and yellow.
Beverley wanted her nephew's name on the card and so once again I used my favourite alphabet stamps on shrink plastic.
Now I was going to be able to tell you exactly which stamp set it was as my friend Sue found that she had it, and hadn't thrown away the packaging. She text me to let me know all the details but once again technology has failed me, my phone seems to have deleted all my messages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used the latest sketch over at Friday Sketchers. I am enjoying all these challenges, and this sketch was particularly useful. I liked the idea of being able to add a secret message from Beverley for Rayon to find when he opened his card.
A cute Penny Black Bear and some party balloons complete the birthday theme.
I started this post several hours ago before I went out to teach at Davina's so I had better finish it now and get some sleep. The trouble is I feel wide awake at the moment, but I'm not sure I will feel quite the same at 5am when it is time to get up :)
Nite Nite all

Princess Saskia

Hi Everyone.
I hope that you have had a lovely day, even if it is Monday and you are back to work :)
As promised here is the card that I made for my Granddaughter Saskia's 3rd birthday.
She is definitely a girly girl, although there are times when she can be quite a tomboy. It wasn't hard to pick what I was going to do for her card, unlike her brother who was much harder, but more of that card later.
Anyway, as you can see it is quite pink. This was the colour that Sas chose when I asked her what colour she would like me to make her card. Isn't it funny how most little girls seem to start out with pink as their favourite colour lol.
The stamp is Princess Tilda and is available from Sir Stampalot. I hand stitched some tiny seed beads to her tiara. I couldn't thread the bead needle so its just as well that beading thread  is quite stiff.

The flowers are made using one of the Nellie Snellan flower punches available from The Art of Craft.
I added some tiny pre-made flowers from my stash. The swirls are made from the left over pieces from the border punch. You see we never waste anything do we.
I have stamped the letters on to white shrink plastic with Stazon ink and then cut each one out individually before they are shrunk. This really is one of my favourite stamp sets at the moment. It is a clear stamp set and I think it might be by Penny Black all though I am not 100% sure. It is perfect for Kids cards though.
I have decided to enter this into the Allsorts Challenge which is Summer Days, I think it fits quite nicely.
Oh by the way it is an Easel card, in case you hadn't guessed lol. I would also like to enter it in to the challenge over at Project Tuesday where the challenge is Easel cards.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you like the card.
Love and hugs
