With Love

I feel like I must have been living under a rock.
For the second time I arrived at work to be greeted by newspaper headlines of an atrocity carried out in the UK. First Manchester, and then London (again)
It sounds ridiculous, and appalling that I should not know what is going on in the world, but to be honest I never have the news on (it's always too depressing) so that is my very poor excuse for being so ill informed.

I can't begin to imagine what all those poor families are going through, nor do I have the words so here is a card that I send with love to one and all.
The background is from my stash and was made, as far as I can remember, using pearlescent inks and cling film.

I stamped and embossed onto the handmade background paper using an old Hero Arts stamp which I love.
The panel was cut out using a rather interesting torn edged die.
The woven background on the card has been created from Washi tape stuck onto strips of white card to make it possible to weave.
I added a couple of circular spotlights and a sentiment from Hobby Art.
I hope that tomorrow will be a better day for all of us and that I can avoid any more awful headlines.
Love and hugs to you All.

A Happy Anniversary

Evening Everyone,
Just a quick post tonight as my head is killing me.
We have had a computer upgrade at work today and I swear that the person who designed it has obviously never spent any time working on a till.
My eyes hurt and I need a magnifying glass to read some of the back office reports that I have to deal with.
Oh well tomorrow is another day, as they say.
Today on the other hand was the Wedding Anniversary of Cheryl one of my colleagues at work, and this is the card that I made for her and her husband Rick.
The background has been made with woven strips of stamped and embossed card to which I have added a couple of stamped flowers, a wire stem and Hobby Art greeting.
Better make sure I have my headache tablets with me for the morning, and maybe dark glasses, but then I wouldn't be able to see anything at all. Perhaps that's the answer lol.

Feathers

Evening Everyone.
Where did the lovely weather we had yesterday disapper to? I know it is supposed to be April showers but couldn't we have a few more warm days before we get in to them.
Anyway here are the next set of cards from Barbara's show. This IS one of mine despite it being credited to someone else on the show. I have stamped the feather randomly over the burgundy card using bleach and then again with gold encore ink. Finally I stamped with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.
It was one of those happy accident backgrounds. I only used the embossing powder because the versamark didn't show up well enough without it.
I havent done paper weaving in a while so I was really pleased with this card.
This technique is a great way of using up bit and pieces left over when trimming down a main panel.
You know me and backgrounds I just love to play lol.
The main stamped panel on these last two cards has been created using promarkers.
I have used them directly on the stamp and then spritzed with alcohol blending solution befoe stampng them out onto glossy card stock. Spritz again and repeat until the image will no longer stamp out. Keep going until you have a large enough piece to create a card.
Look how different colours can create such wonderfully different cards.
Had real fun making these, got carried away again as usual.
Have a good evening.
Love Kimx
